Stayed Oct 31, 2025The house was very welcoming and super clean. The autumn decor, cozy fireplace and beautiful scenery made our girls weekend extra wonderful. The coffee bar was the best and we loved having 3 bathrooms between the five of us. This home is in an excellent location for what we wanted to do. We hiked, hit wineries, shopped and some really great restaurants. Check in was easy and the host was outstanding.

Stayed Aug 29, 2025Nestled amidst the tranquil beauty of Devil’s Lake, Roy’s Modern Farmhouse is a masterful blend of heritage and contemporary comfort—a place that simply elevates the vacation experience. From the moment my entire family (including our two exuberant dogs) arrived, we were enveloped by a sense of welcome and warmth that only comes from thoughtful, intentional hospitality. The farmhouse itself is exceptionally appointed: expansive common spaces for gathering, a modern kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, plush bedding in every room, and well-designed bathrooms that rival those of boutique hotels. There’s even a dedicated mudroom for pets and children, testament to the host’s attention to detail and understanding of what makes a multigenerational getaway seamless. Each amenity, from the cozy fireplace to the high-speed Wi-Fi and the charming reading nooks, speaks to a vision that balances utility with delight. The grounds are a revelation—a sprawling, meticulously kept lawn perfect for morning coffee or evening games, with old-growth trees and vibrant gardens that whisper stories of the farmhouse’s unique history. There’s a palpable sense of place here, as if every stone and board was curated to honor the land’s past while inviting guests to make new memories. The proximity to Devil’s Lake State Park is simply unbeatable; a leisurely stroll brings you to dramatic trails, pristine beaches, and panoramic vistas, ensuring that nature is always at your doorstep.

Stayed Oct 11, 2024Home was even better than photos showed. So clean, so well decorated and a perfect setting. We couldn’t have pictured it any better. Was exactly what we wanted and a perfect location from which to explore the Baraboo area. We hope to come back again!

Stayed Sep 6, 2024My mom and I really enjoyed this property. We were welcomed by a full width, beautiful front porch furnished with plenty of seating. Check in was easy, all information was clear and understandable. I'm going to interrupt myself here and mention how well the owners have remodeled this beautiful farmhouse. Sure, if you're a stickler for period detail this isn't your place. But if you are looking for a comfortable, welcoming retreat close to tons of activities book this now. There was plenty of storage, the kitchen was well equipped, the bed was firm but not hard. All three bathrooms were lovely. The walk-in shower was a plus for my mom. The property has a huge backyard overlooking Farm fields. The neighborhood is quiet, peaceful. I saw a deer, herons, and other wildlife. My mom really enjoyed being able to control the heat in her room at the back of the house off the kitchen. We are already looking for reasons to book this next year. It truly is a lovely place. It's truly a year-round property. I can picture sitting on that shady front porch in the summer enjoying my morning coffee. In the spring, it would be fun to start a fire in the fire pit. The scenery in the fall would be amazing as this property is tucked into a hillside setting surrounded by trees. And in the winter, sitting in front of that roasty toasty fireplace would be so snuggly! The property is ideally located between Baraboo and Prairie du Sac. It's close to Devil's Lake, the Merrimac ferry, and Wollersheim.

Stayed Aug 16, 2024The Farmhouse was wonderful. It was beautiful, clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. 5 minutes to Devils lake area and 15 minutes to the Dells. I had many questions before I booked and they always emailed me back right away. We had a lovely time.

Stayed Aug 6, 2024The house was perfect for our family of five and two boxers. Everything was clean and accessible. The house was large enough for everyone to have their own space while we still had room to gather and eat/recreate. We will definitely return, the property was perfect for our dogs. This is a rare find. Thank you so much for opening your beautiful home to us.
