Stayed Jul 29, 2023Very quiet, apart from the goats and cows. Beautiful views from the house, even more stunning views in the surrounding area. Heulwen was very accomodating and my Mum was so pleased with the rhubarb and made a yummy rhubarb crumble. Cottage decor was lovely, very clean and tidy. Well equipped kitchen and beautiful garden.

Stayed Jun 17, 2023Tyddyn y Felin is a charming old cottage by ancient Water Mill. We were taken aback by the tremendous views towards the Rhinog’s from the old mill pond above the cottage. If you like tranquility and scenic beauty, this is the place for you. The cottage is very comfortable. Heulwen lived nearby and offered help and advice which was appreciated. We hope to return in the near future. Chris & family.

Stayed May 21, 2022We had a lovely relaxing week waking and exploring the area. We loved the house and Heulwen was very welcoming and helpful. Our dogs were also made very welcome and there is a good enclosed area for them to use as well as lovely walking from the house. We hope to come back to visit again soon.

Stayed Sep 5, 2021We spent a week in September and were lucky to have fabulous weather. This allowed us to take advantage of nearby swimming possibilities at Harlech beach, Cwm Bychan lake and nearby Barmouth. Heulwen is a great host. She was very attentive and also offered good advice as to what local places to visit. It is a unique property in a beautiful location with adequate accommodation for five adults and our cocker Hamish. The electricity reading was simple and not too expensive when we remembered to turn the heaters off overnight! Harlech is a beautiful town with lots of interesting eateries and shops. The bistro in the castle square comes highly recommended but do book first as we found it full. Outdoor area is lovely with views of the surrounding hills/mountains.

Stayed Jul 3, 2021Heulwen’s detailed instructions enabled us to find her fantastic hideaway without recourse to satnav. She was there to welcome us and showed us around her historical house and garden. Everything was as advertised, including a great wifi signal as mobile signals are lost as soon as you descend from the hill drive to the house. The house is very picturesque, with a well-kept and beautiful garden that can be used for outside eating. Inside is very comfortable for living, sleeping, cooking and washing. We loved it. The walk down into Harlech is great, with visit to the Llew Glas Cafe a must, you do you have to prepare for the climb back. The route to Cwm Bychan is a feast for the eyes with sight of a piece of Roman Road as a reward. Ospreys may be sighted along with lots of intelligent sheep and interesting houses, always remember to close the gates. It’s a great starting place for visits up and down the coast and nearby beaches, though parking can be expensive. All in all, highly recommended for a get-away stay, as it is Wales, always have rain gear handy.

Stayed Jun 19, 2021Absolute gorgeous old house with so much character. The surrounding area was just as beautiful and peaceful. We really didn't want to come home. Gonna miss the noise of the animals and sitting by the pond in the sun and peace.
