Stayed Nov 12, 2025The house was quirky and charming. Lots of fresh flowers in the rooms. The evening was cool so we lit the fire and the house was very cosy. Very quiet and peaceful location. We enjoyed our stay.

Stayed Jan 2, 2026We had a wonderful stay in Jane’s cottage. We loved the style and how Jane decorated the house with fresh flowers. Though it was summer we needed the fireplace, because we had some cold days. We loved it! The rooms and the whole house is perfectly equipped. Nothing was missing. Jane gave us hints where to walk in the beautiful environment. Nearby we went rafting on the Clarence river. One day we were allowed to feed the lambs on Jane’s farm with the bottle. It was amazing! The communication with Jane was easy and quick. We recommend Jane’s cottage without hesitation.

Stayed Dec 22, 2025Wonderfully friendly host, gorgeous location, very relaxing and comfortable house. A great way to get away from the usual tourist route and to see another part of the Kaikoura coast. Loved listening to the ruru at night, watching the quail in the backyard, reading the history of the valley, and hanging out with the sheep. The kitchen was well appointed and easy to work in, the lounge and beds were very comfortable. The only drawback is that the house might be a little tricky for a larger group, as the bath/shower room is a bit of a hallway: it has four doors that open on to it. It's the easiest access to one bedroom, and the only interior access to the loo is through it.

Stayed Dec 30, 2025What a fabulous stay we had. Jane and her family went over and above to ensure our comfort. They had the fire lit before we arrived so that the cottage was warm when we arrived, on an unseasonably cold summers day!

Stayed Dec 27, 2025The property was so lovely and quiet; just the birds and the sound of the river. The house was neat and tidy, the kids loved the board games and the fireplace. Bedding was clean and comfortable. The property is on the rustic side but for us that was part of its charm. Hosts were attentive and friendly. Thank you Jane, we had a great time.

Stayed Feb 15, 2025My sole intention for this visit was to disconnect from the noise & speed of city life, to clear my head and recharge. This location was perfect for that. The cottage is exactly what you would expect as an old farm house, with a modernised kitchen. I loved the farmhouse feel. Flowers, Eggs & Lemons made it feel very welcoming.I have already booked again

Stayed Jan 4, 2025Lovely quirky cottage in a peaceful setting. Well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, which was a bonus. Lovely to be provided with eggs and lemons on arrival. The cottage has obviously been added to in various stages over time, therefore as others have commented, the bathroom setup is unusual with four doors. However, there are now locks on the three doors into the house. The fourth door is to the laundry and this is also where the toilet is. There is an outside door to the laundry, so the toilet can be accessed this way, if someone is in the bathroom (provided the outside door is unlocked!). One bedroom's only internal access is through the bathroom, but it also has an external door. There is no mobile phone signal (Spark), but this is not an issue with the unlimited internet. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very good when we were there (mid summer), but it was lovely to be able to light the fire one morning when it was cold with no sun expected.

Stayed Dec 31, 2024My friends and I had an amazing time staying at this lovely bach over New Year's! The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Its location was perfect, being close to several scenic walks and hikes which we thoroughly enjoyed. The hosts were fantastic - friendly, accommodating, and quick to respond to any questions we had. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we would happily recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in a beautiful setting.

Stayed Dec 28, 2024We wanted to ask Jane more about the history of the cottage as it seems to be over 100 years old at a guess. It has been nicely renovated inside though so is fairly modern. The location is totally remote and very private. We enjoyed a great BBQ on the lovely deck in the evening sun. Beautiful!
