Stayed Jul 13, 2025Beautiful property with magical views of Tuscany. This is a rustic farm house with a well appointed kitchen. The welcome dinner was wonderful and they accommodated my daughter’s food allergies. My children loved all the animals and space to run around. My only recommendation is to invest in new bed linens and towels.

Stayed Sep 1, 2024We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We loved the authentic buildings with modern amenities - wi-fi and plenty of modern bathrooms. The location is ideal - Castellina in Chianti, with good restaurants and a grocery store, is only 10 minutes down the road and major points of interest (Florence, Sienna, San Gigimiango) are all less than an hour away. Our hosts could not have been more helpful, willing to provide suggestions of where to go as well as fresh herbs and vegetables from their garden. The welcome dinner was well worth it - a delicious and stressless way to begin our trip after a long flight! We will definitely stay here again when we return to Tuscany!

Stayed Jul 8, 2023This is a restored farm property in a beautiful location. It is a true Tuscan farm experience.Lovingly restored by the owner and her son. This Tuscan farm experience has a great pool for cooling down on very hot days. It is well equipped for family dinners to be enjoyed under the stars. Very well located for touring Chianti and making family memories. The space accommodated our family of 11 very well and it has a bathroom attached to each bedroom - something that is hard to find and great for families of mixed ages. Our days were full with visiting the surrounding area and relaxing by the pool. There are other offerings that unfortunately we were not able to attend including welcoming dinners, archery and cooking classes. A wonderful family memory. Thank you

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A group of 10 women from the US rented the villa for a week- we split ourselves between the 4 bedrooms/baths. We'd go for a bike ride every morning and then come back to the villa to relax in the afternoon. Having laundry facilities on site was key- we'd through our kits into the washing machine and then dry them on the line. The pool was a delish treat, as were the variety of places on the property to sit and relax. The kitchen was well stocked with any/all plates, glassware, dishes we needed. Groceries were purchased in Sienna which was a short drive away Ulrike was an amazing host. Her charm, her garden beds filled with fresh vegetable and herbs were a very welcome addition to our stay. What an amazing woman she is. The welcoming dinner (and then subsequent cooking lesson) was filled with delishouness! Wifi worked great for ALL of our devices. If you are looking for a quaint, low-key vacation look no further than here.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Excellent location! Comfortable house. We were well looked after by owner Ulrike and her son Fabian. Nearby Castellina was our favorite hilltop town.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our friends rented this property for a month and invited their friends to come visit. We stayed for two weeks and thought it was a great location from which to explore the local region. During our stay we visited a lot of the little hill towns in Chianti but also ventured to other locations such as San Gimignano, Monterigionni, Montalcino, Siena, Florence, Lucca, Assisi and Ravenna. The property has a wonderful rustic charm and worked out very well for the various groups who came to visit; each of us had our own bedroom and bathroom.....very nice! It was also nice to experience the variety of animals on the property including cats, dogs, Cameroon sheep, a peacock, chickens, etc. The local town of Castellina is very nice and had some of the best gelato we've every had. Would definitely recommend this property to others

Stayed Dec 31, 1969When I chose Poderi Val Verde, I had something different in mind. I thought it would be a bit more luxurious. However, I was not disappointed. The grounds are gorgeous and the views are stunning. Could the linens be upgraded - sure. Could the beds be a bit more comfortable - sure. But keep in mind, the feel of warmth and peace is overwhelming. The accommodations are basic and clean. Urlike is a character and has great knowledge. She is helpful and will give you too much advice! That is a compliment, I assure you. We encountered a bit of a buggy time but we managed. Fans throughout the house would be a welcome addition for the evenings. The consensus from the group was that breakfast was a bit pricey but in all the meals were delicious. We had a wonderful time. Castellina as a town is small and warm. All the locations Urlike mentions are extremely accessible. It's nice to come home to Val Verde after touring all day and have a swim or simply relax with wine on the loggia. Enjoy your time and be sure to give Ulrike and Fabian our best! Hope to see them one day again!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A group of my family and friends (14 in total) spent a week at this lovely property. We rented the villa and the cottage. The location was perfect!! Central to many charming small towns and vineyards but close enough to the larger Siena and Florence destinations (30-45 min at most). The main town right there in Castillini was one of my favorites of the trip. The villa had tons of room and was very clean. The owners were very welcoming and anxious to help with advice on things to do and local events. The experience at the Villa itself was worth the trip. Would have never thought that I would get to hold a 1 day old baby sheep or see a real porcupine shot with a bow and arrow by Urlike's son Fabion! The property was gorgeous!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our week at the farmhouse was amazing! Not only is the courtyside breathtaking and the location of the farmhouse perfect, but the experience at the farmhouse itself was incredible! Our apartment was spacious and enviting, a great place to return to after a day of exploring neighboring cities and areas. The welcome dinner the night we arrived was not only a fantastic Italian meal, but a wonderful opportunity to meet and enjoy the other guests. The cooking class was fun and informative not to mention delicious! We had breakfast every morning and the owner was a wealth of information to us for our days activities. This is a working farmhouse and along with that comes crowing roosters, sheep with bells, and associated insects. We truly appreciated all of this along with the dogs and cats and the fresh herbs and beautiful flowers.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This was one of the best places for our family of 12 to celebrate a very special event. The Villa was exactly what we had hoped for - very clean and comfortable rooms, plenty of relaxing space, many amenities, a very refreshing pool, friendly pets, peaceful countryside and the most gracious hosts. From the Villa, places like Siena, Florence, Lucca and San Gimignano make for good day trips. Ulrike, our hostess, was there 24/7 for us. She provided guidance and directions to towns, events and cities to visit and great places to eat (especially gelato (ice cream) shops). Ulrike and her son, Fabian, treated us like family, sharing meals, good conversation, and lots of laughs. She is a fantastic cook- we dined on delicious wild boar, fresh salads, pastas, and plenty of wine (and Fabian's homemade tiramisu for dessert)! One week was not nearly enough time to spend there. We felt so comfortable at Ulrike's that we all hope to come back soon! This is a vacation spot you will not regret!!
