Stayed Jul 8, 2022We loved our stay on the farm. Well located for day trips around Tuscany, but quiet enough to hide away for awhile. And oh those sunsets.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed at Podere Patrignone (two couples) for 5 days. How we wish it could have been longer. Everything about Podere Patrignone was wonderful. The location is perfect. From there we were able to get to Siena and Florence as well as several of the hill towns. Simon and family were so welcoming and helpful. The apartment we shared was comfortable, clean and nicely equipped. The location is quiet, beautiful country and a great respite from the force of tourist crowds elsewhere. Don't miss this one!

Stayed Oct 3, 2016The perfect way to enjoy and explore the Chianti region. A superb location, with a relaxed atmosphere that entices you to participate and absorb all the great thing that Tuscany has to offer. Podere Patrignone, is without a doubt, the best way to experience the Chianti region (as well as some superb Chianti Classico). Simon and Verity, make you feel right at home in a charmingly restored property. Their friendliness, knowledge and expert ability to set you at ease made the seven days we were with them the highlight of our Italy visit. The location could not be better - you are within reach of all that Tuscany has to offer and what is best, at the end of the day you are in a place that invites you to sit back, raise your wine glass and enjoy the fantastic views and wonderful atmosphere of a real organic farm. When you need assistance to make up your mind on how to enjoy your stay, your hosts have the advantage of looking at every available opportunity with the eyes of a true local and the mindset of a weary tourist. Their suggestions, guidance and helpful assistance with reservations scored a bulls-eye every time we availed ourselves - The best suggestion, partake of their in-house dinner! To bottom-line this review, Podere Patrignone is without a doubt my number one recommendation to anyone who wants to visit Italy.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our stay in La Tinaia at Patrignone was one to remember. The views of the Tuscan countryside were amazing. The car ride to get to the property isn't super easy but the journey was still exciting and part of the overall Tuscan experience. Simon and Verity were pleasant hosts. No real complaints except staying in a converted wine cellar in the middle of summer wasn't for the faint of heart due to the heat. Eventually we were provided a fan which helped a bit. The dogs were also a fun surprise. Being a dog owner myself, it was a little reminder of home and made the experience that much more comfortable.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This property was exactly as described, when we arrived it was even better from the owners outgoing yet helpful manner to the property itself. The owners knowledge of local items to see and visit plus local guides to take you around if you so decided. No pretense was given and none expected, however there was never a question unanswered, a point to consider nor a minutes of wasted time. Truly a relaxed yet fully wonderful local, owners, and property, Five stars seems to underrate our experience

Stayed Dec 31, 1969It was perfect for our needs. If you like to get up in the morning and walk a block to get a Cappucino then this is not a place for you. If you want country peacefulness, friendlines, quiet, open space, beauty and views then get here as quickly as you can. No, internet is not in every room as the walls are 2' thick limestone. This is a wonderful property. We will return.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969If you are looking for a quiet, remote Tuscan hideaway in an area that is easily accessible (by car) to all the quaint hill towns in Tuscany, Podere Patrignone is the place for you. We planned our week's stay in this quaint farmhouse as one of the last stops after a summer of travelling through France, Switzerland & Austria. The week was too short. Simon, Verity and their trusted helper, Donna, went out of their way to make us feel welcome and completely at home. We were so pleased to enter our adorable little farmhouse apartment (Il Forno) to find a warm loaf of Verity's home made bread, jam, olive oil, & wine, along with a plate of cheese & salami. The extensive property with it's gardens (hedges of rosemary!), olive trees and a fabulous views of San Gimignano and surrounding villages from the gorgeous pool terrace. If you enjoy walking & pets, you won't be disappointed here. We settled into daily walks accompanied by Lola & Charlie as faithful companions & they even led us home one day when we got lost. Our stay at Podere Patrigone was so much more than we ever expected. Verity's home cooked dinner was fabulous. In addition to Simon & Verity's willingness to answer any questions and help us with plans for daily excursions, they went a step further in allowing us to foster parent Lola & Charlie. It was a tearful farewell, made a bit less painful by the fact that we're going back next year. This time for two weeks!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed in La Stalle and simply loved it. Fantastic apartment with a lovely outdoor seating area for lazy lunches. Simon, Verity and family are perfect hosts, who go out of their way to make you feel at home. Verity's dinners are simply amazing. I can still taste the lemon linguine! And overall, just a really lovely property in the heart of the Chianti region - a great base for exploring but an equally wonderful place to do absolutely nothing!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We can't say enough about this amazing villa. Simon, Verity, their children (and dogs) were all gracious and so much fun. It felt like we were visiting family. The week we stayed with them was, by far, the best part of our three week vacation in Italy. By far!! We loved our apartment (clean, cozy, beautiful linens), the family style dinner (absolutely delicious), the cooking class with Verity (a must do!), our fellow guests, and the amazing sunsets we enjoyed each evening. The villa is surrounded by olive orchards and vineyards and the rolling hills of Chianti. We ventured out almost every day to visit local villages but came home in time to savor the sunsets and a fine glass of wine. There is no doubt that we will return to this wonderful villa. It is a slice of heaven.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969If you are looking for an authentic Tuscan Villa, this is your place. My husband and I and our good friends stayed here the first week of June 2012. We stayed in La Stalle (much larger than it appears in it's pictures). The villa has everything you will need for your stay. We were greated with a home made loaf of bread and bowl of fruit. Lovely! Although there were many guests during our stay, we found it very quiet and relaxing here. I am not sure how to best describe the scenery. The best I can come up with is FANTASTIC! Our hosts Simon and Verity were very welcoming. Their recommendations (towns to visit, restaurants to eat at and places to shop) were spot on. Whenever we had questions both Simon and Verity were there to answer them. Verity and Pam cooked a fabulous and authentic Tuscan dinner for all the guests. Take advantage of this if you are visiting. I would and will recommend this spot to anyone who is planning a visit to Tuscany . It is very central and day trips to larger centers, such as Florence and Siena are easy from here.
