Wern Ddu is set down a private drive (private parking) in its own garden with beautiful views down to the river and of the surrounding Beacons. In the designated dark skies area of the Brecon Beacons National Park with miles of walks and exciting visitor attractions, Wern Ddu offers the perfect dog friendly escape for up to four guests in a relaxing atmosphere within a short distance from Brecon, Merthyr Tydfil and the villages of Sennybridge and Defynnog with their traditional pubs and shops.
The space
The property is remote yet close to local amenities and activities. The surrounding countryside is unrivaled in its beauty with excellent walks right on your doorstep and Pen y Fan within 15 minutes drive
Guest access
The area of the ruined barn makes a beautiful sheltered space for a BBQ with the lawn stretching out next to it. Around the other side of the house is the patio with table and chairs with views of the river and Pen y Fan. The laundry is equipped with washing machine and dryer. The dog kennels are also available for use. Guests may also have access to the river but care is needed as the access can be steep and slippy.
Other things to note
The local area is mostly sheep farming, so any dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

Location feels remote, but you are close to the Brecon Visitors Center, areas for walks. pubs/restaurants, and town. Babbling book just outside provides a wonderful ambiance inside and out. You can walk down to the brook. Kitchen has everything you need to cook meals. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom includes big tub and roomy shower. Loved the large bath towels. Really appreciated the availabilty of washer, dryer, and laundry detergent. Back patio has a table and chairs. Enjoyed sitting out each evening listening to the brook. Host provides a big book of information on the house and the surrouding area. Loved the pics of the renovations. I did have a few questions during my stay, and she was very responsive. I would love to stay here again.

Great little cottage. The perfect base to explore the Brecon Beacons and to return to after a day out in the cold autumn weather.

A beautiful cottage, surrounded by countryside, with just the sound of the river. Lovely to watch the lambs and swallows. The cottage had everything we needed for our trip, and is well located for all key walking attractions. We would love to return.

Georgina, the host was very helpful with all communications and instructions.Cottage was very well equipped, extremely clean/well decorated and appointed. It felt like home for the 2 weeks we stayed. We loved the views and the sheep!Would highly recommend for a holiday to get away from it all. Brecon only 15-20 min drive away.

The cottage is beautiful inside and out, with a modern kitchen and gorgeous cottage lounge diner downstairs and lovely homely but modern double bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. A rare treat, nessled in a lush valley, with the sound of the river nearby. It was delightful in late autumn, it must be even better in the spring or summer, I'll definitley be back
