Stayed Dec 31, 1969what an outstanding property! the owner, Ian has done an exceptional job renovating and furnishing it. I really couldnt want for anything more. As a business traveller, i found the internet was excellent and the cottage has every amenity that i needed. I will definately be staying here again Thanks!

Stayed Jul 5, 2025The cottage was perfect....clean, cosy, excellent information in the cottage eg lights labelled, instructions for all appliances etc. Felted artwork beautiful. Yoh can see and feel the care and attention that has been put into making it a lovely place to stay.Good location for exploring outer islands ie close to ferry ports.

Stayed Jun 21, 2025Well equipped and comfortably big enough for 2 people. Good location for touring North Uist and Berneray's beautiful beaches. The electric vehicle charging point is a real bonus.

Stayed May 25, 2024Typical blackhouse accommodation, compact, but warm and cosy. Great location. The owners have made an attractive garden - unfortunately the weather was not nice enough to sit outside! Lots to do in the surrounding area, lovely walks and machair and birds.

Stayed Aug 27, 2022A lovely, traditional cottage, just right for two people. Extraordinarily well-equipped, comfortable and conveniently situated for accessing the ferry it is an excellent base for exploring the islands. The weather was also kind to us, 5 days of blue skies and sunshine, we couldn't have asked for more!

Stayed Oct 2, 2021A truly wonder week. The Black House was warm and well lit. The surrounding scenery was gorgeous with breath takingly beautiful beaches. A paradise for bird watchers and nature lovers. We will definitely return.

Stayed Jul 10, 2021This charming traditional blackhouse has been refurbished with modern conveniences. Thick walls and thatch keep the inevitable wind and rain out. Many lovely beaches and walks to enjoy along with the wildlife. Peace and quiet were the hallmarks of this holiday.
