Welcome to Freval Lodge *** - Bienvenue au Gîte de Freval

The property was generally very pleasing and in a good location. We had to cut our stay short because of an emergency operation that was required for me and so unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the property or local area fully. The host was very attentive to this and I found her responsive overall. Good features were the pool and surrounding area, bathrooms, size of bedrooms and open plan lounge area. I think the property could benefit from a rethink of the kitchen layout, a patio and covered outside area and more storage for clothes in the bedrooms. Additionally a larger fridge freezer should be considered. Otherwise, it represented a good value rental and we were only sorry to not be able to enjoy it to the fullest because of our own personal circumstances.

A really enjoyable stay in a beautiful farm house. We loved the pool and the setting. Very easy to get to the chateau’s and vineyards.

We had a wonderful stay at Freval lodge, Jessica communicated with us about arrival and departure and ensured we were well introduced to the property. The gite itself was well equipped, spacious and clean set within beautiful grounds. We particularly loved the pool which was a great source of fun for the children whether it was hot or rainy! Not very far to the nearest village or Loudoun for supplies but a great base to explore the region and we wished we could have stayed longer,! Thanks Peggy and Jessica

We had a wonderful holiday at Freval Lodge. The weather was good so we were to use the lovely swimming pool every day. The gite was very spacious and the layout meant that all three bedrooms had a nice degree of privacy. The Lodge was very well equipped throughout, so we lacked for nothing. The main room was not only spacious (as were all the rooms) but it was beautifully cool when the hot weather. Supermarkets and the town are literally minutes away. The owners were very friendly and clearly available if we encountered any problems. Overall a very enjoyable two weeks. Angus and Polly.

We had a short stay as a family here during a trip to the area. It is a lovely, peaceful property and well laid out. We had a great check in experience with the friendly concierge who explained everything to us. We also briefly met the owner who was helpful and friendly. The house is in a very nice setting and we enjoyed having the swimming pool for a nice relax in the afternoon after a day of exploring! We found the space and amenities of the house more than enough for five adults.

The house is really comfortable and centrally located. Groceries in Loudun and trips to Saumur/Chinon are easily setup. The house is cool and has everything you need to spend a day at the pool. Even with young kids like ours. The concierge is really helpful and supportive. In short, we had a blast. Thank you.

The house was great……the garden was heaven for our dog!!!!!! The garden is a big Forrest! She hunts the whole day! House is great with a beautiful swimming pool! The village nearby is very quiet…..but if you come for rest and a great place for your dog…….just book!

The owners met us and showed us around the beautiful property. They were very friendly and offered their help with any issues. We had everything we needed and the location was superb with both Chinon and Saumur close by if we wanted to go to look round larger towns - both stunning! Thank you, we will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely gite with an excellent swimming pool and a good location. We met the owners who were very friendly and welcoming.

Overall it was a pleasant property with all that we needed. Initially the pool was cooler than we wanted but was attended to as soon as we made the owner aware. Very quiet with no interference from neighbours or local traffic etc. The third bedroom was a but grim in comparison to the other rooms which was not a problem as we didn't need to use it.
