Acton, Maine
We have a two bedroom, full bath camp for rent that comfortably sleeps 4. One bedroom with a queen bed, second has bunkbeds (twin on top, double on bottom).
Both bedrooms have a smart TV and a 55” flat screen is in the open concept living/ dining room area. There is no cable tv but you will have WIFI- so all TV’s will have the ability to stream from your netflix, Hulu, etc. accounts. The bathroom has a stand up shower and washer/dryer.
Directly outside you have a patio area to grill and a stone firepit.
You’ll need to take the stairs down to the water. Once you reach the bottom, you have your own 115’ of sandy water front. Located in the first basin which is a no wake zone- so it’s always calm! The beach area is perfect for your children to play and there is also a dock to keep your boat.

At the price point it should include air conditioning.
This property was perfect for what we were looking for - a location with water access and enough privacy for the family. The home had everything we needed and most importantly was kid friendly. The stairs down to the water is quite the experience but well worth it. I recommend packing a cooler and bag to avoid multiple trips and enjoy the beautiful lake as much as possible! We can't wait to come back!
We had a great stay at this camp! The house is clean and the kitchen is well stocked. The owners were very responsive with some questions that we had. We appreciated the stairs as a nice barrier to the water for our little ones. There are some very well-placed gates at the top of the stairs! We enjoyed swimming and fishing off the dock, paddling with the kayaks and s'mores around the campfire. The dock was also deep enough for our motorboat and the lake was easy to navigate. We would definitely stay here again!
Great stay- beautiful lake and scenery. House was very comfortable!
We enjoyed this cottage. It was a quiet retreat. Be prepared to climb some steps but the trip is worth the effort.
Our family of 4 had a great time at the lake! Cabin was clean, the small beach was a great spot to enjoy the lake. The location of the cabin allowed us to take little day trips around Maine and New Hampshire. Kiel was very responsive!
We had a fantastic time at the lake house. The owners were very responsive and accommodating. We messaged them on the day of check in asking to come a little early to swim and they let us have an early check in. The property is exactly how it appears in the listing. Well stocked kitchen with the supplies we needed including everything for cleaning and paper towels, sponges, soap etc. Even the outdoor fire pit had a little stack of firewood waiting for us. There were some good surprises too not on the listing. A canoe and kayak were there to use, along with kids sand toys and even a little trampoline with safety net. My 5 year old loved swimming, canoeing and jumping on the trampoline. Yes, there are lots of stairs to the water. But it is exactly as described on the listing. I considered it a little workout to counteract all the s’mores we roasted in the fire pit. We just had to make sure we remembered everything we needed before heading down the stairs, it was no problem. Great vacation.
We had a very nice stay at Kiel and Meaghan's well-maintained home. The owners were so quick to respond to a couple small questions we had, and they were very prompt in letting us know when we could check in. We had a rainy week and are looking forward to staying again when we might have some better weather, but we enjoyed some spots of sun down by the water, and we were able to spend the cooler days fishing off the dock and from the canoe. We loved the spacious and beautiful waterfront area, where tall pines offered some nice shade, but there was also space to sit in the sun. Our children (5 and 6) loved the toys and floats, too. The home was clean and we really appreciated the modern convenience of a full kitchen with plenty of cooking supplies, as well as the convenience of the washer/dryer in the bathroom. The queen bedroom has beautiful views to wake up to each day, and our young children enjoyed having their own space in the bunkbed room. When we booked, I wasn't thinking we would use the tvs, but what a great thing to have on the rainy days. We appreciated being able to log in to our Netflix and Amazon accounts for kids movies. The property is just as described in the listing, and the warnings about the number of stairs were appreciated. Thank you for having us for the week!
It was an absolutely great time for the entire family! Plenty of room and plenty to do.
We really enjoyed our stay in Acton, ME at this GEL lakehouse. It was classic lake house living, something we've been doing for most of our lives in the Acton Area (we have family on Mousam lake nearby). This property was very clean, and just the right size for our small family which included myself, my wife and our soon to be 3 year old. Our toddler had a blast, making use of the water table and kids toys outside and inside the home. We had perfect lake weather, though did catch a few consecutive days of 90+ heat. It does get very warm in the house on days like that - if a wall or window AC unit was added in the future that could be the cherry on top of this home. The home stays cool otherwise with plenty of window and ceiling fans to move air around. By each morning the house had cooled significantly. The beach area is large and great for relaxing or playing with sand toys. The actual access into the water is fairly small, and not overly sandy. There is a cute spot to access the lake down to the left where our toddler could stand and play in a sandy spot. Great East Lake is just such a nice, clean lake -- we swam everyday, especially on those 90+ degree days to beat the heat. Down by the lake, with the shade of the trees it stays cool. As seen in photos, there are about 80+ stairs down to the lake - which had us packing up all kinds of goodies to bring down to the beach each day, so we didn't have to constantly run up and grab things. Overall we really enjoyed our week at this camp - outdoor seating and grilling was fantastic. Thanks for allowing us to visit your wonderful home.
