A lovely modern equipped cottage to rent for a small family or sophisticated two travellers. The building has a comfortable modern feel. The main bedroom , entrance hall ad shower-room all fully and contemporary equipped are downstairs , the upstairs are living room and kitchen/dining area ( fully equipped) on open plan design. The cottage is rebuilt in the traditional Tuscan fashion using old tuscan tiles. Double doors from the kitchen lead out onto a small paved terrace with surrounding garden - the roses are outstanding and once can eat under the old almond tree which shades the terraces making a perfect setting for any meal. The cottage is also ideal for additional accommodation for small family or friends. Elvira planted lavender shrubs around the periphery of the pool. The swimming pool is surrounded by paved area large enough to take sun umbrellas, sun beds , a table and chairs. The lavender form a very attractive and holistic outdoor border and have a touch of serenity whilst relaxing. The Felcino Bianco estate and its accommodation has been designed and arranged so as to provide the maximum of benefit form living in an unspoiled Tuscan countryside. We are located not far away from Arezzo, Cortona, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Siena, Florence and Perugia. Our nearest reliable shopping is very close by, butcher and fruit and vegetables Monterchi, supermarkets in Sansepolcro( 15 min), a town founded by two pilgrims from the Holy Land 1000 years ago. Anghiari is close by and is distinguished by having spectated at the Battle of Anghiari in1540. There is also the ancient Borgo of Citerna, also near the Anghiari , is Caprese Michelangelo, the birthplace of the great artist. We make our own organic virgin olive oil from 350 olive trees and are welcome for purchase. The estate covers 70 acres of land , there are also some fruit trees, plum, pear, apple , apricot and quince and walnut trees. A road towards the cottage is a little rocky like most roads in the forest type surroundings. Come and see, there is space to indulge all your pastimes!

Travelled to this area many times before. Familiar with properties in the area, many with gravel drives. Add made no mention of the road condition of the driveway. Four adults in a small rental car - took three attempts to get up the initial part of the driveway, each time having to precariously reverse back out. Reached out to host for help and she drove down to meet us. We followed her back up the narrow, pothole-ridden, unlit, almost 1km drive, bottoming out three times. Realizing there was no way we'd be able to navigate that drive on a daily basis (let alone at night in the dark with the steep edges) we had to find alternate accommodation. The add now reads a road towards the cottage is a little rocky. Had I known this when planning I could've opted for a more appropriate rental vehicle or made the decision to find a different rental. When asked about this the host told VRBO that she had not had any communication with me until only hours before our arrival, when in fact I had messaged her over a week before our arrival telling her who would be travelling with me giving her every opportunity to mention the state of her driveway (with all correspondence confirmed in our VRBO chat). Hugely disappointing that the host was unwilling to accept responsibility and put the blame on us. We are always quiet, responsible, considerate travellers and losing out on that much money is not an easy decision to make. But the safety of our family (and of the rental car) had to come first.
