Stayed Jul 14, 2025We recently stayed at this Torch Lake home with a group of nine — including my wife, our infant daughter, our dog, and extended family — and had a fantastic time. The property is tucked away in the woods, offering a quiet, peaceful atmosphere while still being right on the water — exactly what we were looking for.The home is older but very clean and well-maintained, with plenty of space and beds for everyone in our group to feel comfortable. The beachfront access and private dock were hands-down the best features. Being able to go for a swim, sit on the deck, or watch the sunset over the lake whenever we pleased was incredible. The s’mores bag waiting for us at check-in was a great personal touch.The surrounding Alden area is always charming, with great local shops, restaurants, and bars nearby. The house was stocked with helpful amenities, and the host was extremely responsive and accommodating throughout the stay.A few things to note: the house interior is a bit dated, and there's no A/C, which might be worth considering depending on the time of year. Also, the spiral staircase — while unique — was a bit tricky for both little ones and older adults. The checkout instructions were fairly detailed, especially regarding laundry, so just be sure to plan a little extra time on your departure day.That said, we’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a true lakefront experience. With some minor modern updates over time, this spot will continue to be a gem.
