Torch Lake Getaway w/ Private Beach + Boat Dock!

We stayed at this very unique lakefront home on Torch Lake and absolutely loved it! The house itself has so much character and charm, and the location is unbeatable—right on the water with a perfect sandy beach. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on our side this trip—it was cold and extremely windy—so we didn’t get to enjoy the beach as much as we’d hoped. That said, we can only imagine how incredible it would be during the prime summer months, and we can’t wait to come back then to experience it fully. Highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for a special spot on Torch Lake!

What a special place!! Torch Lake is absolutely amazing -- crystal clear water, sandy, calm -- and this is just a perfect lake house! Totally clean and tidy without being sterile and boring (like so many rental places these days). It's a beautiful old house with charm and character, as well as some thoughtful updates, good bathrooms, kitchen with full sets of dishes, cooking essentials, etc. The beds were comfy, with plenty of extra pillows and blankets. The living room was great for cozy hangouts, and the porch facing the lake is an unbelievably lovely spot to sit with your morning coffee, or watch the sunset with a glass of wine. Mike, the host, was responsive, friendly, and helpful. We're already planning our return next summer!

Older than we though, and really it was the weather, cold and windy, nothing anyone can do about the weather though. Just bad timing for us. Who knew August would be cold.

Nice sandy beach, old cottage but very clean. Walking distance to town. Very quiet and secluded.

Disappointing Stay – Would Not RecommendThis property is extremely outdated — think old Red Roof Inn vibes. The fridge barely gets cold, and overall, the home is in desperate need of updates. One of the biggest issues was the owner's lack of respect for privacy. He showed up multiple times unannounced, even coming inside the house to take out the trash. That felt like a major violation of personal space.We booked this property mainly for the “private beachfront,” but it was covered in goose droppings, and 3 out of 8 people in our group ended up with extreme swimmer’s itch after going in the water. Definitely not the relaxing beach experience we were hoping for.The dock is also misleading — it is not suitable for docking a boat, something we wish had been clearly stated in the listing. On top of that, the property was crawling with spiders, inside and out, which made the stay feel even more uncomfortable.Take your money elsewhere. This place is not worth the price, and the constant pop-ins from the owner were the final straw.

The property was extremely clean and well stocked! We enjoyed the coziness and the private beach. Sunsets were beautiful!

Lovely, clean and quaint cottage. Great location, walk out front doors on to your private beach.
