Situated in 10-acre grounds complete with tennis court, this newly refurbished wonderful property has enough space for the whole family.. Situated in the grounds of Old Montrose House, the owners’ home, next to the Montrose Basin Nature Reserve, are these five holiday properties offering high-quality accommodation close to each other, yet separate.

The Stables (ref UK11108) is a luxurious, detached conversion on two levels with a high spec finish and chic furnishings. Beautifullyrenovated and lovingly restored, it combines traditional cottage ambience with contemporary style, and features a walk-around gallery in the centre of the building above the living room.

The Old Gasworks Building (ref UKC2272) is a newly refurbished, delightful, detached cottage, which has been built on a historic site, and provides a very stylish and comfortable holiday home.

Gardener’s Cottage (ref UKC3040) is a gorgeous, upside-down, detached cottage which was formerly the head gardener’s house in times past. Furnished with style and flair, this quirky cottage is wonderfully situated in a secluded spot in the grounds, with a private sunny garden and patio off the main bedroom where you can soak up the sun in peace.

Grieve’s Cottage (ref UK11107) is a little gem – a tastefully furnished and spacious, one-bedroomed cottage with an open plan living space on the ground floor and a spacious bedroom with a sumptuous bed and en-suite shower room on the first floor.

The Garden Room (ref UK34071) is a stunning conversion of the original potting shed and offers a unique holiday experience. One half of the property is taken up with an enormous conservatory, stylishly designed and furnished to complement the garden surroundings, while the other half houses a high-quality kitchen, shower room and double bedroom. All guests have access to the owners’ large enclosed walled garden, hard tennis court and small putting green.

The idyllic peaceful surroundings are complemented by a structured walled garden and other features, including a rose garden intersected by pathways to meander through and stop to enjoy the scents of summer. Just a short drive from the centre of Montrose, this is an ideal base from which to explore an area that is rich in culture, wildlife and heritage. Montrose sits on a peninsula between the South and North Esk rivers.

The magnificent sandy beach, golf courses and links area are very popular with tourists, as well as additional leisure facilities including tennis courts, bowling greens and parks. There are plenty of good cycle routes around the cottage and throughout the area, and for golfers, there are over 30 courses within an hour’s drive, including the championship courses of Carnoustie and St Andrews. Excellent beaches, including Lunan Bay, Arbroath and St Cyrus, are nearby and are ideal for surfing or enjoying a barbecue. Fishing can also be found within easy reach. Beach 3½ miles. The Old Gasworks is a very cosy and comfortable cottage, set in the most beautiful gardens. Close to Montrose, and an easy drive to Glamis Castle and House of Dun as well. We’ve really enjoyed our holiday- thank you!

We had a great week at The Old Gasworks. The cottage was modern, beautiful, warm and well equipped. Wifi was good and the Sky TV was an unexpected bonus on the rainy days. The owner welcomed us when we arrived and shared tips on places to visit. The grounds are beautiful, with the walled garden, mini woodland walk, pond, tennis court, basket ball hoop and even a putting green. There is a walk to the Montrose basin from the front door and great back roads for cycling, plus you are a 2 minute drive from the main nature reserve. There are also some fantastic beaches within 20 minutes drive too which we we all loved - especially our Airedale Terrier. A trip to Dundee and the V&A was also within an hours drive. Eating out was limited due to Covid restrictions but we managed to find a great Chippy at Arbroath Harbour and delicious Arbroath Smokies too. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Beautiful cottage in glorious surroundings. Made full use of the tennis court and putting green which were adjacent to the cottage. The grounds were lovely and being able to pick fresh raspberries was a real bonus. Just a few minutes walk from the Montrose Basin so we had the pleasure of seeing and hearing the pink footed geese as they started gathering. Lots to see and do in the area so would be very happy to stay here again. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We had a great time in the Old Gasworks. It’s a stunning cottage made all the better by the beautiful gardens and local surroundings. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. In terms of comfort, we couldn’t fault the cottage. It’s very well equipped. The Sky passage is particularly useful during wet weather! We also enjoyed the Pitch and Putt, as well as strolling around gardens. There are many walks available from the cottage and a visit to the basin is a must. The 8 that we gave for local amenities is no reflection on the cottage or surroundings. We were just a little frustrated by all the council run museums etc that were still closed. Despite other private sites being open, and perfectly safe to visit. We would have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending the cottage and would love to return one day. A very well designed and appointed cottage, with ample room for a family of four, particularly with immediate access to large and secluded gardens during summer. The tennis court and putting green were great to have on-site. The host was welcoming and friendly without being ‘too present.’ Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
