Stayed Oct 5, 2024The Old Gasworks is a very cosy and comfortable cottage, set in the most beautiful gardens. Close to Montrose, and an easy drive to Glamis Castle and House of Dun as well. We’ve really enjoyed our holiday- thank you!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We had a great week at The Old Gasworks. The cottage was modern, beautiful, warm and well equipped. Wifi was good and the Sky TV was an unexpected bonus on the rainy days. The owner welcomed us when we arrived and shared tips on places to visit. The grounds are beautiful, with the walled garden, mini woodland walk, pond, tennis court, basket ball hoop and even a putting green. There is a walk to the Montrose basin from the front door and great back roads for cycling, plus you are a 2 minute drive from the main nature reserve. There are also some fantastic beaches within 20 minutes drive too which we we all loved - especially our Airedale Terrier. A trip to Dundee and the V&A was also within an hours drive. Eating out was limited due to Covid restrictions but we managed to find a great Chippy at Arbroath Harbour and delicious Arbroath Smokies too. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Beautiful cottage in glorious surroundings. Made full use of the tennis court and putting green which were adjacent to the cottage. The grounds were lovely and being able to pick fresh raspberries was a real bonus. Just a few minutes walk from the Montrose Basin so we had the pleasure of seeing and hearing the pink footed geese as they started gathering. Lots to see and do in the area so would be very happy to stay here again. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We waned a week where we could just chill out and the Old Gasworks Building gave it to us in spades. The cottage was lovely, had everything we needed, the grounds, which we were free to roam were, extensive, the whole ambience was just what was required. We enjoyed the experience so much that we have booked again for next September. This time we are trying the Stables.A first class experience all round!!! Stayed Dec 31, 1969We had a great time in the Old Gasworks. It’s a stunning cottage made all the better by the beautiful gardens and local surroundings. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. In terms of comfort, we couldn’t fault the cottage. It’s very well equipped. The Sky passage is particularly useful during wet weather! We also enjoyed the Pitch and Putt, as well as strolling around gardens. There are many walks available from the cottage and a visit to the basin is a must. The 8 that we gave for local amenities is no reflection on the cottage or surroundings. We were just a little frustrated by all the council run museums etc that were still closed. Despite other private sites being open, and perfectly safe to visit. We would have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending the cottage and would love to return one day. Stayed Dec 31, 1969A very well designed and appointed cottage, with ample room for a family of four, particularly with immediate access to large and secluded gardens during summer. The tennis court and putting green were great to have on-site. The host was welcoming and friendly without being ‘too present.’ Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
