The lodge is situated on the outskirts of North Walsham so it was perfect for days out to the very near Norfolk coast . Bacton woods ideal for dog walking as like all the near by beaches of Bacton Mundsley & Happisbough . If your looking for a quiet place to stay its perfect but you need to use a car as no where close for good dog walking unless you walk around housing estates. There are no amenities on site the Olive tree appears to have been closed for a far while now as a resident informed us. There is a pub opposite the entrance family & dog friendly. lidl & Sainsbury’s close but car required. Gate code entrance to get onto site but was unclear if take away deliveries could get access . Screens around the decking nice idea for privacy but tatty & miss matched for very little money could look 100 times better. Hard broom to sweep decking would have helped as under a tree . Not enough plates & glasses to ever need the dish washer as soon as used had to wash for next meal or drink. Everything worked a few bulbs out here & there but nothing major. TV way too small for a living room & only I player worked without logging into an account but furniture & WiFi was comfortable & reliable. Very spacious & walk in dressing room & en suite great set up . Hot tub was clean & very well kept.

Overall the lodge is nice and spacious and generally clean. However there are lots of cobwebs and the outdoor area is very tired looking and unkept, there are plastic rugs on the balcony to give privacy but they are falling apart and look very tatty, and the decking is in need of a good clean and sweep. The most unfortunate thing is the location, we had no idea the park is so close to a chicken farm and the smell in the air is awful! We had an issue when we first checked in as the fridge smelled terrible and was not working. This was dealt with but it took 2 days to resolve and the fridge was replaced. So no working fridge for the first 2 days of our stay. Also the pool area is lovely, but very limited on opening times. I got asked to get out of the pool 5 minutes before it was closing.

Enjoyable week at the Lodge. Nice, quiet location. Big heated communal swimming pool, which we managed to use just before it closed for the winter. The lodge itself was very spacious with plenty of storage. A couple of niggles that have been picked up by previous visitors is that some things need fixing/replacing. The dishwasher gets partially through then flashes an error code. Not a case of resetting anything...needs a part. The fridge freezer - fridge never got cold enough and the ice dispenser didn't work. Hot tub - was not checked/topped-up during the week we stayed. It had what turned out to be a floating chlorine dispenser in the water. I had to ask the on site hot tub tech (does not service this lodge) what it was and what to do? We took it out. I watched other lodges being prepared for new guests. They are mostly under trees with lots of fallen leaves. They were being leaf blown off the decking. Our lodge had none of this. A blanket of wet leaves on a very slippery decking. Extreme caution needed. The master bed creaked at every turn and and springs could be felt through the mattress. Single beds the same. The Bluebell pub outside the park was excellent and a very warm landlord. The lodge was very clean with everything needed. Being on a residential park, we were made to feel very welcome by residents. Easy 20 min walk into the town centre.
