Amador City, California
Within memorable downtown Amador City behind historic highway 49, rests the recently remodeled two bedroom cottage retreat. Stroll into town for coffee, explore artisan shops, enjoy a glass of wine, and sample cold beer at the local brewery. Restaurants welcome you with a mixture of delights. Country walks abound with old gold mines and creeks right on the door step. Or perhaps bring a bike.
A short drive over the hill, awaits Sutter Creek, with all it has to offer: shops, restaurants, and wine tasting rooms. All for your enjoyment.
Shenandoah Valley wineries are only a short drive away, offering a variety of fine wines. Near by Plymouth offering fine dining options. Or perhaps read a book and enjoy the peace and quiet that the cottage can offer.
This exceptional cottage has easy access from the side street and private space for two vehicles. The inviting hallway has wide access to both bedrooms and the bathroom, which has a walk in shower, and plenty of storage. Both bedrooms are light and have ceiling fans for those warmer days. In both king and queen bedrooms there are extra deep mattresses for your comfort. Continue into the great room space to entertain in a fully equipped kitchen if you wish to prepare a meal and enjoy the bottle of wine you found earlier in the day. The living room has a wall mounted tv with local channels and a movie can be enjoyed on Netflix. The two outside patios provide space for outdoor eating and lounging.
We loved staying here -it is completely remodeled and clean and within 2 blocks to town. It’s close to all the other gold country towns. You can’t go wrong.
Great cottage. Very much enjoyed our stay. Had a surprise welcoming committee of 9 turkey and 4 deer greet us within 15 minutes of our arrival. Very easy access to Amador City, Sutter Creek and the Shenandoah Rd. wineries. Highly recommend.
Very clean and very close to town.
This cottage was spotless and welcoming. It is perfectly situated for walking to breakfast and dinner in the adorable little town of Amador City. I highly recommend visiting the museum and patronizing all the little shops. The house itself is several homes back from the main road and is peacefully quiet. It's also a short drive to Amador's very own wine country. I would definitely come back here again!
We came over for a weekend wedding and could not have chosen a more charming property! It was perfect in every way - great location, clean, beautifully decorated and nicely appointed with everything we needed. The little town of Amador City is so cute and right next door to Sutter Creek. Both have delicious restaurants and fun shopping opportunities. We will definitely be back for the next Amador County wedding!!
Great place to spend a weekend and enjoy the peace and quiet!
Great location, quiet, clean as a whistle. Walk to town and enjoy a nosh and a glass of wine (or beer). More shops than I imagined .Its a great place to relax and perfect location to visit Sutter Creek & beyond. Larger grocery store just up the road. We would definitely be back. Also, fantastic communication on owners part. We got caught in the big storms and had to reschedule and Ged was most gracious . Book it now !
This is a charming and immaculate cottage. We have always enjoyed our stay. See in September.
Great!
No hassle
Enjoyed our stay and will book it in the future.
The property was immaculate and updated and near the town. Very quiet and convenient. The owners responded promptly to all inquiries.
Lovely stay! Would definitely book again.
The place was absolutely darling and within walking distance to the cutest little town! Totally recommend staying at this place and also visiting Amador City, Sutter Creek and Jackson!
The pictures don’t do this cottage justice. It is a perfect cottage tucked into the tiny foothill town of Amador County. Outside is tranquil and relaxing, and inside the furnishings are perfect. Everything you could possibly need is provided, along with comfy beds, beautiful furniture and washer/dryer. We had a very relaxing stay and will stay here again if/when we return.
We will stay here again. We all appreciated the attention to detail to contemporize this small nice home.. thank you !
The home was perfect for a group of 4. I went up the day before everyone got there to hammer out some work with peace and quiet, and it was perfect. Perfect location in a cute little town. I will definitely stay here again when traveling for wine tasting, or to just get away.
My spouse and I just returned from a quick 2-day get away a few hours from home. This property was just what we were looking for. As you can see by the description, it is quite small, but seems spacious and thoughtfully planned. It looks like it has been newly renovated and the space is warm, clean, and inviting. There is a small backyard (where we ate both nights). The space is private and quiet. The kitchen is well-equipped and we had no problems preparing meals with just the addition of groceries. Amador City is small, but has some great shops and places to eat, drink, and shop all within a short walk. A few blocks away there is the Bellflower Garden Store that is great fun, and (a bit farther away) a beautiful nursery in Plymouth called Amador Flower Farm specializing in daylilies. Bring a picnic and eat under the trees. The only caveat I will add is not about the property, but about the area. Many of the small shops/cafes open on Thursday through the weekend. The larger places (and wineries) seem to open earlier in the week. Plan your trip accordingly! We packed a lot of fun in two days, and The Cottage was a perfect retreat. We highly recommend it and hope to return soon.
We come every year for Memorial Day weekend. This was a nice home to share with my brother and his wife and mine. We love this area.
This adorable cottage has been newly updated. It is very clean with cheerful and bright rooms with comfortable beds. The home stayed cool although it was warm outside. A/C was available but we didn’t needed it. The two outdoor sitting areas are inviting. We found the back area quite peaceful. It’s perfectly located between Sutter Creek and Plymouth. Ged & Angela were accommodating with a date change and quick to respond. Thank you for sharing this treasure. This place will definitely see us again!
We stayed here for a ladies' trip. It is so cute and picturesque!! Very clean. We walked the town and ate at one of the local restaurants, went wine tasting, and spent quality time with family and friends. We cooked breakfasts the morning there, and ate on the patio. It was so relaxing. Definitely will come back again, maybe with my spouse for a weekend getaway. Awesome place and so cute.
