The Cottage is the newest lease on life for what was once an old bunkhouse behind our historic 1895 Victorian Farmhouse, on our working farm, Farmstead Hollow. Two beautiful miles outside of Hamilton MT, the drive into the Bitterroot Mountains to the cottage is one of stunning views and well maintained, easy to access asphalt roads.
We have completely gutted and remodeled the bunkhouse (including a brand new heated slab floor), reinventing it as a charming 850 sq/ft house. The Cottag

Stayed Oct 6, 2025The Farmstead Cottage is the perfect get away. The setting is beautiful. You look out onto a meadow full of white tail deer. There was even a fenced side yard, perfect for our dog.The house is comfortable and has everything you need. Our hosts, provided all the information we needed. Directions, check-in and check-out procedures, and recommendations for local hikes.We would definitely stay again on another Bitterroot vacation.

Stayed Jul 12, 2025We've stayed here twice now and enjoyed both times. The field next to the cabin is a constant show of wildlife and chickens. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds comfortable, the AC does a good job. It's very convenient to Hamilton but in a very rural setting. The hosts, Megan and Brian, are always available and are wonderful. The only thing to consider is that the ladder to the loft and the three beds that are up there is steep and not for young children or adults that aren't reasonably fit. A

Stayed May 1, 2025Just as described.Plenty of wild life on the property White tail deer, wild turkeys, quail, pheasant and more! Hiking and other outdoor activities super close We really enjoyed our stay. Loft does have a challenging climb for seniors if you choose to use upper beds

Stayed Jul 17, 2024We enjoyed the cabin in a pretty setting just a few minutes from Hamilton. It was well equipped and the AC worked well in spite of the high outside temps the week we were there. The only detail to be aware of is the ladder to the loft bedroom is very steep and could be an issue for small children or adults with physical limitations.
