-cabin had pleasant appearance, kitchen equipment well organized, beach almost nonexistent due to high water this summer, but access adequate, & the lake there very nice for swimming. I would recommend getting a dish drainer for handwashing dishes, and a clothes dryer on top of the washing machine. In this moist environment, dankness and mustiness are the enemy of comfort.
This was our second stay at Michele's cabin on the lake. The location is perfect, and the cabin had everything we needed for a fun and enjoyable stay.
Everthing we needed was in the cottage loved sun porch
The cabin was extremely clean. The views from the porch were breath taking. We spent the most time on the porch. Michelle was quick to responsed to any question i had. I needed a nice relaxing drama free week and thats what i got. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed are stay in this house. It was very clean and right on the lake- every night was a spectacular sunset (well except for the day it rained!). Very near a multipurpose trail for running/walking/biking, that lead to the causeway out into the lake. It was fun running on it! I would definitely recommend this house. It was very nice for our family of 4.
Everything you could ask for! The cottage has warmth and charm - very clean and nicely decorated (decor and furniture) with an airy front porch that offers amazing views of the lake. It's in a great location - Colchester has beaches and restaurants and is a short drive to Burlington. The owners were wonderful with communication and attention to detail. We've rented twice and would consider going back again.
Had a great time staying at this cute camp. It was immaculate and had everything we needed for a memorable trip. Loved the view of Mallets Bay and the causeway. A great week for us!
Best views and sunsets on Malletts Bay, walking distance to the Causeway Trail. Location great for getting to Burlington or other Vermont spots. Cottage has everything we needed and owners responsive. Would definitely stay here again.
Very nice well stocked camp. Water is warm and shallow, location convenient and owners easy. Wonderful views. Bring bikes if you can. We had a great stay.
This cottage was our quiet getaway from the big loud family reunion that we were attending while in VT. It was perfect. Quiet, safe, clean and had everything we needed. I stayed there with my teenage son. The beds were comfortable. The owners were great about communicating. The weather was perfect when we were there. One thing to keep in mind was that the owners do not provide sheets and towels, which I found a little odd for a rental. I’m guessing most people are driving there, so it’s not a problem for them to bring these things. We were flying. I reached out to the owner ahead of time and they were very accommodating - very easy to work with.
Great location, very quick to get onto the causeway to enjoy the great views, and easy to ride to one of the many great parks in Colchester. Kids really enjoyed the clear shallow bay. The house was ideal for the 4 of us, clean, plenty of kitchen tools, and great support from Mark and Michele on any questions we had. A+
The location of the house is outstanding. The owner is friendly. The causeway bike path is very close. The house is close to services and central to places we wanted to go. Access to the lake with our kayaks was a bit of a challenge getting them up and down the steep stairs.
The property has gorgeous sunset views of Lake Champlain and is minutes from the Colchester Causeway, which is a fantastic biking/walking/jogging experience with beautiful views. The cabin is rustic and solid, which a great screened in porch for meals and views. A few notes for travelers to consider: - The staircase to the water - as others have noted - is treacherously steep and NOT accessible to small children or anyone with even minor mobility issues. - The listing specifies that bedding and linens are laundered in hot water, but is not specific that sheets and towels are NOT included. Most listings are very explicit about bedding/linens being not included. - The owner communicated a few days prior to our arrival that the washing machine was broken - an important factor for us with a 5 year old attending farm camp (dirty clothes!) all week. We were told the washer was repaired prior to arrival, but it was non functional (fast and significant leak on the bathroom floor when we tried to use it and there were no provided towels for clean-up). The owner was responsive but the unit was not repaired until our last day. She gave me $40 cash at our departure for the inconvenience, but a $100 credit and/or refund would have been more appropriate. Spending a 1/2 day of vacation in a laundromat stinks, plus the ongoing energy sunk into the will it work / will it not work / when can a repair person come into the unit back-and-forth was not ideal. Some smaller and inexpensive details to this rental would go a long way to attracting more potential renters + potential higher rental prices. Overall still a positive rental but with some kinks to work out.
My family (hubby, 5 year old, and 10 month old) all had an amazing week at this camp. The location is amazing-- right on the water in a calm, protected area, and directly adjacent to the Causeway for walking and cycling. The hosts were excellent and very communicative. My favorite part is that it was SUPER CLEAN! Our baby crawled all over the place and never got dirty-- that is a great testament to how well they keep this camp up. I was worried that there wasn't a dryer, but clothes dried very fast on the clothes line outside so it wasn't a problem at all. We will definitely be back!
