Stayed May 22, 2020Star Field Cottage was the perfect escape! The house is much nicer and more stylish in person than the photos show, with a real fire place inside. The property is quaint with beautiful hiking trails and a fire pit and BBQ right out the back door. Cooperstown is a mere 5 minute drive away. We really appreciated the little touches Star Field offers, like toys and games for the kids and a fun array of DVDs to choose from, but what really stood out was Scott's unwavering dedication to ensuring our comfort and happiness. He was immediately responsive, always amicable and happily willing to share all his helpful tips and suggestions for the surrounding area. We'll be back!

Stayed Jul 18, 2025The cottage was clean and easy to access. We’re from the city and didn’t realize this location was right on the hill surrounded by woods. It wasn’t necessarily for us but it was a nice stay. If you like outdoors and hiking this is for you. The bedrooms are upstairs a steep staircase so keep in mind if there are young/older guests or pets. We had ample space and supplies. Private driveway was nice. They say it’s pet friendly but again not being hikers walking the dog was a bit of a challenge for us. ACs kept the cottage cool and comfortable. We had plenty of towels, blankets and pillows. Overall it was a nice stay.

Stayed Oct 3, 2024We always wanted to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame - the cottage is a short ride and very close to Cooperstown so ideal location for us. Scott and his friendly pup Shoog greeted us, and Scott was very helpful and responsive to our questions. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, and the nearby restaurants were terrific. We had a very nice stay and enjoyed beautiful weather and fall colors!

Stayed Sep 4, 2024We had a wonderful time exploring the Baseball Hall of Fame. I would like to return and take advantage of other sites in Cooperstown and beautiful Otsego Lake. Our stay in StarField Cottage was terrific! Scott and Shoog (his dog) were welcoming and extremely friendly, and we appreciated the fact that our dog was also welcome. Although the cottage is attached to the main house, we had all the privacy we needed. The kitchen is well stocked, we lacked for nothing. Everything in the cottage was extremely clean. The setting is beautiful -- although we didn't have cell phone service until we went into Cooperstown. Not a problem, just some friends and family couldn't get in touch with us. We hope to meet up with Scott and Shoog again!

Stayed Jul 7, 2024We had almost no hot water in the shower the whole time we were there he did come to look at it and put a new filter in but it really didn't change much. I told him we were bringing my adult daughter and her school canine dog we have never been charged for her before we paid him cash on the property. Dogs are allowed there No fire pit no outside chairs no table that 4 people could set around the screened in porch either had windows that didn't open glass broke or holes in the screen. That would be the only place you would be able to sit and eat or play games. The picture must of been years ago we could not sit out there because of the condition of the windows . It was very hot in there we got one towel set for each person so I had to wash everyday. There is no place really to let the dog out just a spot weed whacked around the picnic table the house is just a few yards from a busy hwy. the beds were comfy but no door on the big bedroom or a privacy screen to change behind.

Stayed Jul 3, 2024We stayed at the cottage on our first trip to Cooperstown. It is well located with all the sites within a short drive. We enjoyed a hike up to star field with our dog (bonus that the cottage allows dogs). Scott was a great host - checking in to ensure we were settling in well and we enjoyed an afternoon with Scott on the lake. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy the cottage and area again.

Stayed Apr 6, 2024The house was just what we wanted. Close to town, walk out the door and start hiking, and of course Shoog the friendliest dog you will ever meet. Our own kids both two legged and four, had a blast. Scott was so attentive and helpful every second we were there while still giving us plenty of space. Would rent again in a heartbeat.
