We had such an amazing time and the property was amazing! The owners were so polite and accommodating. We will definitely be back!
Such a cute little cabin! The wood burning stove was fantastic, kept the entire place nice and cozy. The sunset is breathtaking and impossible to capture its beauty with a camera shot. We hope to be back someday.
All was clean and beautiful and we were warmly welcomed. We hope to say again.
This cottage has everything you need to relax for a few days!
We stayed at the Turkey Ridge cottage and had a beautiful Gasconade kayak trip. The property was secluded and peaceful. The hosts took great care of us and we will be returning. Thank you again!
Peace and quiet and cozy cottage! We enjoyed playing in the river and used the canoes one day. Lots of time spent by the fire pit and hammock. Owners were very responsive and helpful.
Perfect little place large enough for 3 couples. We enjoyed the view! The large picnic table was great for having dinner outside. Make sure to have your supplies with you when checking in - its almost 20 minutes to town and the cabin is too nice to leave once youve arrived!
A beautiful place to get away with the family! The river was lovely after a little bit of a struggle to get out of the slough with all of us on the canoe because the water was low from a dry summer. Would recommend 10/10 as a nice quite/private getaway.
The initial property was fun. The views were amazing, with a quick walk to the river. My wife loved the vintage pantry. We had an issue by no fault of the host and they were more than willing to help. The second place was just as great for a weekend getaway.
This was one of my best vacations ever. The area was remote enough to be quiet and serene but close enough to a bigger town to get supplies for out stay. My family loved being out in the outdoors, especially being so close to a river. This vacation really allowed us to unplug and rest from busy city life. We all can’t wait to get back and do it again!
This is the perfect location to unplug and unwind. Kathy was great at communicating both before our trip and showed us everything we needed during check in. Once we checked in the whole trip was quiet and private. We did not see any humans the rest of our stay and at times forgot their were others on property. River access was walking distance from the property and the nearby sand bar made for full days of both fishing and swimming. We were provided all of our favorite parts of camping and being outdoors with they added luxury of AC, a hot shower, and a soft bed at the end of a long day in nature. As we were packing up our group was already having conversations about when we can find time to go back!
Check in was amazing Mrs Heather came to see that we were informed about the stay and the different things there were to do. The pictures of turkey ridge cabin are not updated yet. The cabin has been completely redone inside and painted outside. To say it is beautiful is an understatement. Everything is set up for comfort and convenience. The beds were beyond comfortable and never had us wishing we were in our own beds at home. My 4 teenagers had a wonderful relaxing time and can't wait to go back. We are already looking into coming back as soon as possible. And the view is absolutely beautiful and peaceful just what we needed. Their family is the most polite and friendly people. It truly is a special trip to be treated so welcome when you stay here. I honestly could have stayed forever. Thank you again Mr Tom Mrs Kathy and of course Mrs Heather hope to be back very soon.
If you want to get away from it all, this is the place for you. Great view from the deck, firepit area and the added bonus of supplied firewood made for great evenings around the fire pit. The cabin was cozy with a lot of cool antique furnishings, and everything needed to make for a great stay. We were greeted by the owner, Cathy, and she made us feel welcome and provided all kinds of information on what to do and see in the area. Make sure during your stay to hike to the natural stone arch...it's a moderate hike but well worth it. Our dogs really enjoyed that too. Jay and Renee Jensen
Roomy cabin. Kitchen nicely stocked with whatever you may need including spices. Beds comfortable. Large open deck overlooks the valley with gasconade river. Pictures can't capture the beauty. Grilled steaks and enjoyed the sounds of the woods. Lots of deer close by. Drive slow on the roads in evening. Loved the use of canoe in the river next to the property. Hiked the nearby clifty creek. Went on float trips gasconade/big piney and nearby upper Meramec river. Perfect home base for outdoor adventures. Kathy is very gracious and responsive to any question or need. Would definitely consider visiting again.
This is a great cabin. Unbelievably quiet and serene. I will return. Oh I highly recommend Tom's book. It is in the cabin.
We rented this cabin to have an outdoorsy vacation, unplug, and enjoy nature as a family (dogs included). This property could not have been more perfect. Kathy was great to work with. The property has all the amenities you’d want from a campground - picnic tables, a fire pit, a grill, but also has all the comforts of a hotel room - AC, a shower, a comfy bed, etc. Our kids and dogs had a blast hiking, exploring, canoeing, fishing, and swimming. The nearby Clifty Creek area (5-minute drive) was also a favorite. If you want all the beauty of the outdoors with all the bare necessities of comfortable living, this place is the perfect balance.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Turkey Ridge Cottage. The cottage was cozy and exuded rustic charm. It is the perfect place for those looking to enjoy tranquility in nature's presence and recharge the batteries. Kathy and Heather are wonderful hosts who look to make your stay a great experience. Clifty Creek Nature Area provides wonderful hiking.
