Saybrook Point Cottage - Charming and Private

Our stay was amazing! The location and cottage were perfect!

We stayed here over the Christmas period and overall had an awesome experience. Al the owner was easy to communicate with, and was very helpful in every way, he even cleared the driveway and created a path for us after 6 to 8 inches of snow fell overnight. The amenities provided were great — everything we needed was there, and the place was clean and functional.That said, the space would really benefit from some updates. The bathroom and kitchen are very small and could use refreshing, and removing some of the extra furniture would make the place feel much more open and comfortable. In a space this size, less really is more.One other important note: the bed is a double, which just isn’t large enough for two adults of average height and size. A queen bed would make a huge difference to comfort and sleep quality.This tiny cottage provided us with a fantastic stay and we are truly grateful to Al, but with a few thoughtful updates. With some decluttering, modernizing, and a bed upgrade, it would truly shine even more.This is just my opinion, but even so, I would definately stay here again. Old Saybrook is a super awesome town that has everything you need for an unforgettable stay.Thank you Again Al

Beautiful little cottage tucked away in a beautiful part of Old Saybrook! Great restaurants in town, pretty walks on the point and near the beach. Quiet!

House was clean. It was comfortable. The location was great. We found the “free only” tv channels difficult to use. We were initially only given two wash cloths for a seven day stay. When we mentioned this to the homeowner, he left 4 more washcloths—not really what we expected.

The cottage was compact and situated on a private and spacious lawn only a stone's throw from a scenic cove and offered close proximity to whatever amenities you could wish for, for dining, tourism or the local beach. The check in was the easiest I had ever encountered. Door was open...key was on the table and that's how you departed. One note, the bathroom was small and the shower was narrow. A private patio included a gas grill and table, chairs and umbrella, plus several reclining lawn chairs. 10 out of ten for me!

The side deck is very private as there are plantings that have grown in. I slept with the windows open and the neighborhood is extremely quiet. The only sounds I heard were that of chirping insects. While this cottage is on the property of a larger house, I never once saw or heard the occupants of the house. It was a very peaceful getaway.

We had a wonderful week at this cozy cottage. It had everything we needed. And the hosts were incredibly welcoming, full of helpful information about places to bicycle and restaurants to try. We will look forward to coming back to this magical little place.

Great location, cute cottage, everything you need. Host was terrific, very friendly when we needed something. It is small, as noted in the description, but clean and private.

My husband I and stayed here three nights for our honeymoon in early May and enjoyed every second. Everything was green, flowering, and the house was very comfortable. The neighborhood is gorgeous and quiet - quite well-off and manicured! The ocean is two houses away with public beaches (not dog friendly though), bike paths, and some forested walks available. Our dog (a labrador) was quite comfortable here too. We loved how close all the stores, beaches, and walking areas are. Everything was in good working order at the house, it has lots of windows, so it cooled off fast in the evening and even stayed cool on hotter days as long as we closed the windows and shades. The porch felt private and was perfect for morning tea and knitting! Overall, we loved our stay and hope to come back soon. This was the perfect place for 1 person, or a couple.

We were traveling to see family and wanted to bring our dog. This is a very dog friendly safe property. The neighborhood is quiet and very close to the water with a nice beach to run dogs on when the tide is out called Harvey Beach nearby. The owner even has a drawer full of things you might need for your dog, including flashlights for walking at night. There was enough room for us to run our border collie to tire her out chasing a toy. The cottage itself is very small but adequate for two people and that is very clean. It’s got some nice decorating inside in the kitchen. Has all you need.

Just so quait and quiet. Love the yard and patio. Did alot of reflecting and painting.I felt very safe there too

We stayed for a wedding near by at the Inn down the street. Quiet, close to the water and clean. Check in was very organized and we had no issues.

The cottage was so cute and very clean. The host kept us up to date every step of the process making check in so easy. The cottage had everything you need for a wonderful stay. The grounds were well maintained and the little deck was a very nice place to relax. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Absolutely no complaints, though one caution: the bed is a double and tight if anyone in a couple is iver 5’10”. Could use a queen.

Little cottage at the rear of a house with a very large lot. Great location near town and for walking along causeway. Extremely quiet neighborhood. The cottage is a small older structure but has everything you need including full kitchen. Nicely decorated. There is lovely private outside patio with table and grill. It was very clean and towels and linens provided. Worked perfect for us.

Cozy little cottage. Just right for medium petite couple (5’1 and 5’8). Very well supplied, a bit cluttered for my taste but homey and functional. We would definitely consider returning for a quiet cozy get-away. Real cute stay.
