Charming Old Saybrook Cottage < 1 Mi to Beach

Such a warm, comfortable space for my family. It was our second time staying, and we will be back next year!

This location was perfect. We had a death in our family in Guilford Connecticut and I needed a place nearby for myself and other out of town family. Commute was easy each day to Guilford. The house was charming, immaculate. The close proximity to the beach was great. I walked each morning to see the sunrise. A great time for reflection. Sunrises did not disappoint. Thank you John for being a great host. Your home was exactly what we all needed. I’m looking forward to returning in the future.

Well maintained neighborhood and quite location. Buiding was well maintained, spacious and clean. Seperate temperature control for each floor. Has a large fenced in backyard and was setup with nice grill and patio area. Has 2 seperate driveways with a half circle at the front door for easy load and unload. Even though we didn't use them, it has many items availble for small children. Walk to beach area was only about 1/4 mile. Great neighborhood for walking, very little traffic. Will stay again if we come back to the area.

We had the best time! We came up for a wedding and the location was so convenient to everything. The house was beautiful and very accommodating to different family members. The host was amazing and made everything to checking in, to making sure our stay was perfect, to checking out so wonderful. It’s probably the easiest VRBO experiences I have had! We loved it!

My family and I spent 4 beautiful days at this location for my niece commencement ceremony from the University of New Haven. Check-in was seamless. The photos don’t do the property justice because there’s little amenities and convenience that the owner provided that are nice. The neighborhood is quiet, close to the beach, shopping and restaurants. About 45 minutes from New Haven, Yale and downtown. We stayed in May for a spring commencement ceremony. The weather was nice but not great. This rental property is ideal anytime of the year, however I think it would be best during the summer months where families can make great ise of the amenities outside such as grilling, corn hole and bike riding to the beach. Highly recommend.

We have a lovely 3 night getaway with 5 family members including my 83 year old mom. The house was extremely clean, roomy and in a quiet neighborhood walking distance to the beach and causeway.

My Mom, daughter, and I stayed in this charming Old Saybrook home over the Christmas holiday. It was easy to access the house and there were good instructions for how to use various electronics and appliances. The house was clean and looked just like it did in the photos. We enjoyed cooking our Christmas dinner and that there was plenty of space for our family of 6 to feast and play games together at the kitchen table. There were no guests arriving immediately after us and we very much appreciated the flexibility the hosts allowed on the check out time. We would certainly stay here again!

We enjoy hosting a festive Thanksgiving each year. Grateful for wonderful family who make the trip including across the country. This charming cottage feels like a second home to the ones lucky to stay last year as well. It's perfect for our overflow of guests. Spacious, clean and especially welcoming with a gracious host. We highly recommend visiting this lovely beach cottage on your next trip through Old Saybrook!

This is a very comfortable home in quiet neighborhood. Easy to access with easy parking. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped with just about anything you would need to cook a meal. There were also some basic stocks/supplies that made the first day very easy before we ventured out to get more. Old Saybrook is a very cute town that has a ton of restaurants/taverns for lunches and dinners. We were there in the late fall so the beach was not on our itinerary but it was a short walk to the water and would be great in the summer time. We did have one minor maintenance issue while there and the owner very quickly addressed. I was very impressed with the response time and the thoroughness of the resolution.

We had a wedding to attend in old Lyme and thought old saybrook looked like a nice area near the ocean.. We booked this little ranch thinking this would be good since we had an elderly person in our party and we were right! The house was great for many more reasons though!! It is very spacious with a great separate space downstairs and super easy for anyone to get around.. the outdoor space is very good too ,And the host provided everything you’d need. Old Saybrook is a very comfortable, clean, and well kept home. Sizeable bedrooms and baths, comfortable beds, and ample linens provided. Basically, check in using the security code and that's it! We are so happy we chose Old Saybrook for our stay, as it made for a very comfortable, and relaxing trip. We were not there long enough to have enjoyed the back yard grill, but surely would have if we could. BTW...the host is GREAT!!!

We enjoyed our stay, the house was very clean and well equipped for our families needs including crib and port-a-crib for my two grandchildren (14 months and 4 months) so we did not need to bring these items. Short walk in a beautiful quiet neighborhood to the ocean, along with plenty of places to eat and shop near the house. Host was very responsive and kind. If we are in the area again i would absolutely book this place again!

Spacious, in a great location, this cottage was perfect for our family. Clean and good space to be together in both the family room and finished basement.

Very clean and well organized. They had a good assortment of kitchen supplies although dishcloths and more towels for the kitchen would be nice. House was spacious for our group of 7 with a nice room in the basement for our 2 young kids to play. Short drive to places of interest and dining.

In the area for a family function. This home is great for any family. Fenced yard, quiet neighborhood. A few minutes walk to the beach walk. Marsh views at the end of the block. Kitchen has enough to cook meals. Baths are good size. If we come back into the area, it will be at the top of our list.

This was a wonderful place to stay in OS. The basement area was great to have separation from the kids and they loved playing games down there or in the beautiful fully fenced backyard. Very well appointed kitchen with everything you need and the beds were super comfortable. The host was a great communicator before and after the trip. Will definitely be a repeat visitor.

A great location in a lovely neighborhood with ample room for our group of six including one elderly man with limited mobility. The hosts were thoughtful and left great instructions and suggestions for local restaurants and activities. Very clean with a lovely backyard including a grill. We all decided a longer trip to Old Saybrook is on our future wishlist!
