Sarlat NEAR PROPERTY STONE CONDITIONING WITH HEATED POOL

WE had a really lovely family holiday here. We loved the area and the house was perfect for us - 3 generations.

We recently stayed at this spacious villa, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The layout is fantastic, offering great flexibility with a separate gite that provides additional privacy and space—perfect for families or groups. One of the highlights was the clean and warm pool, treated with non-chlorine methods, which left the water slightly salty without any of the usual chlorine smell or taste. It was a refreshing change that made swimming even more enjoyable. The villa itself was spotless and very well-equipped, ensuring a comfortable stay with all the amenities we could need. Check-in was a breeze, and we were warmly welcomed by the host, who lives next door. They were extremely helpful and approachable, making sure everything was perfect for our stay. The surrounding area is very quiet and relaxing, set in the peaceful countryside of rural France. This does mean, however, that most amenities—beyond a small supermarket—are at least a 30-minute drive away. We found this a worthwhile trade-off for the tranquility, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind if convenience is a priority. The only slight frustration was the Wi-Fi. While it is provided, the speed and coverage were somewhat limited, and we ended up tethering our devices to our phones instead. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this villa for anyone looking for a relaxing and well-equipped retreat.

This is a great property which is perfect for two families sharing, plus has a granny annexe too. The kitchen is well equipped and also.has a BBQ. The pool was warm and brilliant for the kids. It's to the North West of Sarlat, about 10 mins from Salignac which has a small supermarket, boulangerie, petrol station etc. Loads of tourist things to do nearby including canoeing on the Dordogne. It feels very rural yet almost everything is within a 30 mins drive. The owner was very accommodating and we would recommend 100%.

We had a lovely stay at the house, we had originally thought it was closer to Sarlat as the location on the listing suggested, but this is a good half an hour drive to Sarlat. 10 minute drive to the nearest supermarket. We were 3 generations staying, Grandparent, Parents and teenagers so the set up of the house and gite couldn’t be better. We had a rather unpleasant encounter with who we believe to be the owners wife, when she came out and swore at our children for making too much noise playing in the pool at about 10pm on the final night of our holiday - they were only playing and it wasn’t that late and given the remoteness of the property we couldn’t understand why she found this so unreasonable and it wasn’t like it was night one! The air conditioning was very welcome. The house well equipped and beds comfy. Overall a really lovely property if you are happy to be 40 minutes drive to the river.

JP and Charlotte were amazing hosts. They love next door and went above and beyond and were there to help with anything we needed, but you didn’t know they were there unless you needed them. The house,gite and pool were completely private and so beautiful. We hope to stay again in the future

Fantastic property very well equipped (could do with a bigger BBQ) in a really tranquil setting. Perfect owners. We understand the need not to give the exact location away but as described it could be judged by some who prefer village life as misleading. A few more towels especially for pool usage would be welcome. The above does not distract from our score: 10/10

We stayed for 10 days in late July. We were staying with friends and there were 8 of us in total with both families having 2 children. The set up of the house is perfect for travelling with 2 families with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom for each family on either side of the house. The annex would have been perfect for grandparents or an additional family. The property was light and bright and the air conditioning was such a treat meaning comfortable nights for us and the kids. The pool area was perfect for us (no lock on the gate but we improvised with some rope) and being completely fenced off meant complete peace of mind from the children getting in accidentally. The eating areas were perfect for all the group eating together and the house was really well equipped. The swing was a big hit as was the huge field for some ball games. The area has lovely walks from straight out the front door and there are numerous towns, markets, caves, river activities, nature reserves etc etc all around 30mins by car away. Very much recommend martel. JP was very friendly and relaxed and it felt like a wonderful, peaceful break. Thanks JP for a great stay.

Excellent property and great host but a good half hour drive from Sarlat and the cleaning fee needs to be advertised up front

Let me start by saying this is the best property I’ve stayed in in France. The house is really well appointed, the kitchen well equipped with plenty of everything you need, the lounge is spacious and comfortable, the bedrooms a good size with comfortable beds. Air con in the lounge and all bedrooms was fantastic as it was very hot when we were there. The little gite is charming and similarly appointed to the main house. The pool area is really nice and the pool was a perfect temperature, the beer fridge was very welcome. The house location is similarly good, it’s not too far to Montignac (big supermarket, restaurants, canoeing etc), salignac the nearest town has a few restaurants, weekly market and a small supermarket and is really only a short drive. Sarlat for the normal tourist visit well worth some of your time, also Rocamadour and the attractions around there are close enough to enjoy day trips etc. All ion we were very happy and enjoyed our time there immensely

This Gite is absolutely fantastic, the pool area is the best we have been to, the house is spacious and very well laid out, five bedrooms including the separate little gite (this is 15 metres from the main house so perfect if you need that extra room. outside areas are all well furnished and the Gardens are vast and beautiful, the owners live in the house next door if required, very friendly but as we did not have any issues we did not see them after checking in. Two things that were frustrating the were property is NOT in Sarlat, the map on the site marks it as just in the south of the town!! it is in fact 25 minutes drive north of Sarlat (if you have not been to Sarlat then you are missing one of the best towns in France) , nearest shops were 6km away, please do not book if you think it is walking distance to Sarlat or local shops/cafe/bar. After Booking and no where did i see any mention beforehand i was informed the week before arriving that a 150euro cleaning fee that was payable on the last morning, this should really be in the booking process in my opinion. if you are looking for a perfect Gite for a large family or friends then this is one of the best. I highly recommend.
