It was updated in the kitchen but the charm of the cottage was left throughout the remainder of the house. The beautiful high ceilings kept things cool, light and airy. The beautiful old oak tree that provided its shade to the house was an additional bonus. It was a laid back, peaceful weekend, right up my alley.

The Ruth cottage in Carlton was perfect for my sister and I. Its very quiet, and has a nice layout of space. The kitchen was plenty big, and the host left us a bottle of wine. There was also nice touches throughout. I took off a star because the shower pressure was pathetic, and didn't seem hot enough. The whole house was extremely clean, and nice towels, and sheets and bedding.

This was such a great property! Completely unassuming from the outside and totally cozy and groovy on the inside. Laundry was huge bonus. Vinyl was pro-level. While early 20-something daughter may have initially groused about the pull-out, she was JUST FINE havng her own room.Carlton was such a sweet surprise and we had a really great weekend celebrating our fave Uni Grad with dear friends.I'll be back - maybe for longer next time!HIGHLY recommend.

RUTH’s cottage was nothing less than perfect for our eight day stay in Carlton. Communication with the management team was spectacular, accommodations were absolutely perfect for what we wanted, and the location was ideal for daily jaunts to wineries in the area. We had everything we needed for cooking and cleaning, and really getting a sense what it felt like to live in Carlton. Can’t wait to go back.

We stayed 3 days at this property while exploring the wine region. The home was very comfortable and beautifully renovated. The property is stunning with beautiful mature plants and a huge old oak. The home is close to town where we were able to walk to the local wineries and especially enjoyed Carlton bakery where we ate every morning! We would definitely stay here again.

Ruth's Cottage is as advertised - a charming farmhouse which has plenty of vintage touches AND is comfortable, cozy, and with all the amenities one needs. And its location can't be beat - just a short walk to downtown Carlton, an easy drive to McMinnville, and convenient access to everything that Willamette Valley wine country has to offer. I can't wait to return to Ruth's Cottage!

We stayed in this home to visit the Willamette Valley wine country. Carlton is a small town and a walk over. McMinnville is a short drive over. Everything was a short drive away. The home was equipped with everything we needed. We were looking forward to using the record player but it wasn’t working. Parking was a bit difficult since we were driving a Jeep truck and we could t quite fit into the driveway without sticking into the road. We had to park diagonally. The home is beautiful and the outdoor space was too, but we were unable to use it since it was raining throughout our entire stay.

This is our 3rd stay in the area over the past few years but the first time in Carlton. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the towels/linens were quality and clean. Wi-fi worked great for streaming. Check-in was seamless. The location in Carlton is great - very walkable to numerous restaurants and wine tasting rooms (we loved Flaneur). We went to the Carlton Bakery several mornings for coffee, amazing pastries, and hot breakfast options. Nearest grocery store we found was in McMinnville - only about 10 min away. We took one day trip to Tillamook and the coast (about 2 hours each way) and we spent the rest exploring various wineries and nearby towns (Dundee and Newberg are favorites). We can’t seem to stay away from the Willamette Valley for too long and are sure to be back again in the next couple years!

We stayed here for our wedding weekend and it was absolutely perfect! So cozy and beautifully decorated we wished it was our home. The small touches for our dog including food and water bowls, treat, dog towels, bags and furniture covers so our pup could enjoy the furniture as well. This all really showed another level of care for guests . Along with a welcome bottle of wine and some snacks. The whole house was very clean and well kept. Highly recommend!

Carlton is a great place to stay when exploring the wineries of Willamette Valley and this little cottage is perfectly situated walking distance to the restaurants, bars, and bakery. Host is very attentive and house was very clean. You'll love the details down to the bath soap made by a local shop in town!
