Second time here to this quiet little cabin tucked away amongst many farms. The cabin is located in a beautiful small private lake perfect for a serene escape from the big city life. If you want relaxation this place is perfect and the host are very generous.

Looking for peace...this place is it. Beautiful countryside to drive through, great place to watch the sunset over the lake, quaint & quiet. Close to Shipshewana. The property is very well maintained. Our only regret...we didn't have more time to stay and just enjoy the property.

Great place to unwind. Small kitchen items foe warm ups. If you want to cook on vacation not the place for tou. Otherwise just wonderdul! Peaceful, beautiful and enough and more of all the other necessity you need. Pleenty of room for two. Will be cozy with 4 and more so with 6, only because I am not sure where you would place your suitcases if having a long stay. We enjoyed our 2nd stay here and hope ro have many more:^)

If you want to get some peace and quiet this is the place. The “Bunkerhouse” is your own private little modern/rustic cabin located truly in the middle of many miles of farmland. It’s located on a farm with a private lake shared by only 3 homes. I can’t describe the peace and serenity of this beautiful area but I was looking for that and to get away from the big city life and that’s exactly what it was. There were a few good restaurants and bars surprisingly relatively close as well as some towns to get some staples if needed. The food and night life was fun at a place called Sylvan Cellars. I enjoyed the fishing as well on this little pond and will certainly return. Catherine was a generous host and respected my privacy. This place is a definite yes if you just want to relax and get away to a tranquil setting. I loved every second of being there. Thank you again Catherine!

We were not there during the day at all so cannot review other than we used the bed and the shower. It could have had better lighting.

I booked a 4 night getaway at this cabin for my husband’s birthday and he’s already making plans for our return. The cabin is really cute and the bed and sofas are definitely well suited for naps!! My husband caught plenty of crappie, bass, blue gill, sunfish and a couple of catfish right from the pier on the private lake. My favorite part was loving on Fame. This horse enjoyed her pets and her neck a torches

I travel every summer from NC to take my 3 Indiana grandkids, one at a time for a 1-2 night get away with just me/grandma. This was our first visit to The Bunkhouse’ - every one of us enjoyed our stay. Low-key, country setting with things to do/enjoy right there at the rental, as well as things close by to enjoy. Kathy was an excellent host. We hope to return next year.

My husband and I love nature, and peaceful Get-a-ways. Kathy and Jed have a darling cabin on Mirror Lake, with nature abounding! We watched an osprey dive down into the lake and grab a fish to take to it's nest! The cabin is full of charm, and the area surrounding is even better. The large farm is great for hiking, boating, kayaking and even has a pontoon boat. After kayaking the lake, we were able to use their gator to haul 2 kayaks to the back of their farm, which borders Elkhart river. This is way, WAY back in the country!! Many various birds, fish and deer all around. If you want remote; this is remote! We kayaked to Jones lake and watched the bass jump out of the water (May 16th). I'm soo thankful we found this place, and so thankful to Kathy and Jed for sharing it with us! We will be back!!
