Welcome to our family's cabin! “Castle Point” is a rustic 2 bedroom cabin located directly on the Chain O’Lakes. You will have access to both the upper and lower chains. Beasley Lake is deep and clear of vegetation off the end of the dock for great swimming. The cabin sits on a 1 acre wooded lot overlooking the lake with a large private dock (bring your boat) and fire pit. We provide two kayaks and two canoes as well as firewood. The cabin is a short drive to restaurants, boat rentals and shopping. Maximum occupancy is 8. No pets. No parties, events or large group gatherings.

A few things to consider before you read further:
-Guests must bring their own bath and beach towels. All bed linens are provided.
-If your party is more than 4 people please be prepared to utilize the screened-in sleeping porch. All bedding for the porch is provided but guests make up their own beds on the porch upon arrival.
- This is a summer cabin with no central heat. It can be heated but please read the note AC/Heat below. The bedrooms and living room have AC.

ABOUT: Castle Point is a rustic cabin/cottage located directly on the Chain O' Lakes. It was built over 100 years ago and has been in the same family ever since. We provide a vintage Northwoods experience. The cabin is old and rustic but with tons of character and charm and is very well loved. We do our best to provide a clean and comfortable space with various updates and some modern amenities. If you are looking for a fully updated space or hotel experience this may not be the place for you. Also please note that there are numerous steps leading down to the lake (see photos).

The cabin is situated on a peaceful 1+ acre wooded lot overlooking Beasley Lake. There is a large private dock with room for a boat. Inside there are 2 bedrooms (1 queen, 2 twins) plus a screened-in sleeping porch with 4 twin beds. Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, air conditioning, screened porch with view of the lake, dining porch, seasonal gas fireplace, fast Wi-Fi, smart TVs (log into your own streaming apps, no cable), board games, outdoor fire pit and charcoal grill. 2 kayaks, 2 canoes, beach chairs for the dock, water noodles and firewood are all provided.

BED LINENS/TOWELS: We provide all sheets/blankets and pillows for the beds. We do NOT provide towels except for hand towels in the kitchen and bathroom. You must bring your own bath and beach towels.

BEDROOMS/SLEEPING PORCH: There are 2 bedrooms--one with a queen bed and the other with 2 twin beds. Additionally, there are 4 twin beds on a screened-in sleeping porch. There is a ceiling fan and floor fans for use on the porch. Fleece blankets are also provided for each porch bed. ***The sleeping porch is screens only. You are OUTSIDE.***

AC/HEAT: The bedrooms and living room have air conditioning and heat. Each room has it's own mini-split wall unit or window unit, no central air or heat. The cabin can be heated very well but please keep in mind if you are staying early or late in the season during chilly weather you will need to heat each room individually. Space heaters are provided for the bathroom and kitchen. The gas fireplace can also produce heat but it is not guaranteed to be operable. (We will try to have it on if the high temperature is 65 or below). The cabin is not available to rent during the winter/freezing weather.

THE LAKES/SURROUNDING AREA: Beasley Lake is a peaceful no-wake lake connected by a short channel to Long Lake and the rest of the Chain. The shoreline of Beasley is natural so there is no beach or hard sandy bottom but the water at the end of the dock is deep and free of vegetation for great swimming. There is a ladder for easy in and out of the water. Larger wake lakes are adjacent to Beasley for boating, waterskiing and tubing. The Upper Chain is also easily accessible by nearby Beasley Creek for kayaking and canoeing in a tranquil state park setting. We provide two kayaks and two canoes. Beasley Creek is a great shallow spot for kids to play. Tom Thumb mini golf is two doors down from the cottage and Hartman Creek State Park is within walking/biking distance. Boat launches and rentals, restaurants and shopping are also nearby.

This place is awesome!!!!!! It was like stepping back in time to a simpler life. The location can't be beat. We went canoeing, swimming, walked to mini golf, walked to the park, drove 5 min to the Casino for a bite to eat, etc. The canoeing and access to the smaller chain lakes is literally right outside the property. You can canoe or kayak through small connecting river ways that take you to other lakes. It's amazing! The water is crystal clear and the temp was perfect. My only caution is simply to be aware that it is not super clean, and what I mean by that is that they don't clean/sweep under the beds or on the windowsills or such. Not thorough, and that isn't due to the age of the home, that is just that they don't address those areas. So there are many areas of the home with dust build up. Sheets are clean, bathroom is clean, kitchen is clean, so the main areas are good to go! But really, the rustic nature of the place and the location make for amazing memories, a little dust won't hurt anyone compared to the relaxing time you'll spend. The management couldn't be more responsive and is excellent to work with!I would highly recommend this spot to everyone and anyone of all ages. We had our 6yr old with us and had my in-laws come visit during the day (78yrs old) and all were happy. A true joy. We hope to go back next summer!

The property is just as described- an older property. But everything you need is provided to enjoy a relaxing stay. The property is secluded and the lake frontage is so nice.

We had a wonderful time at this cottage. The cottage was very charming with private and peaceful outdoor area both by the cottage and the lake.

The location and dock were great. We were aware that it was an old cabin, and it definitely is. The inside twin beds were uncomfortable. Worst part was the mice feces we found by the pots and pans.

This cabin was just what we were looking for. A peaceful getaway that brought back childhood memories of family gatherings at the lake. Felt like a trip back in time with a few modern amenities.

The house was as advertised: rustic, but serviceable. Beautiful on lake location.

Wonderful historic property. Lots of living and sleeping space. Excellent no-wake lake location. Had an ant problem on the kitchen countertops and the utencil drawer. Floors were clean except under funiture and beds. No towels available...though the owner did state this, it seems, for the price, towels should be included. Wood for campfire was wet from rain. Wood that was partially covered by a tarp was moldy. The kayaks, chairs, paddles, and life preservers were ample. The fireplace was not usable, though evening temps dropped to 51 degrees. There were. Ample space heaters. The gas oven would not light. The grill was charcoal only. No dishwasher.

We loved our stay at Castle Point! I'm not exactly sure how old the cottage is, but it feels virtually untouched from it's original state. We loved the charm of the cottage and the peacefulness of the property.

We appreciated the convenience of having kayaks and canoes available on site. Definitely an older cottage pieced together but with a lot of history.

Great stay in a rustic cabin. A real up north feel to the property. Close to downtown and other fun activities. The cabin was clean and well equipped with everything for cooking. The air conditioning was a plus on warm days. We will definitely stay again.
