My 2 (beautiful, smart, talented) spaniels and I absolutely adore everything about Rabbit Shadow! We spent 2022 Thanksgiving there and wasted no time booking for 2023 Thanksgiving. Heather is a superb host: she is so accommodating and so patient, and replies within minutes of any query. The property is beautiful, on a huge wooded private lot with a creek behind the house. High speed internet, a kitchen with everything a chef could want, a fireplace in the cozy living room, comfy beds ~ and so much more. The pictures do not do it justice! The only downside to our stay was having to leave…we were homesick for our happy little refuge before we reached the end of the driveway! Thank you, Heather, for another wonderful stay at Rabbit Shadow.
Great cabin. Even though it was chilly, kept the back door open just so we can hear the babbling brook
It’s a beautiful home that has been updated with lots of wonderful details…a wonderful spot!
We really loved our stay. The property is beautiful the stream is so peaceful out back. The home is in the most perfect location, right by the blue ridge parkway, not far from Waynesville, canton and Asheville. The dryer was not working, which was not a big deal for us but if that is something you are relying on you may want to double check it’s working again with the host. The hot tub was also dirty. Lots of sand in the bottom so I don’t think it was drained and cleaned between stays. Also the beds could use upgrade, they were pretty uncomfortable!
We always enjoy staying at Rabbit Shadow. Its serine and peaceful. Best place to relax and reset.
Absolutely loved out stay here! The stream, the jacuzzi, the location, and more! It was just perfect!!!!! If you love nature and the mountains this is the place for you!
Perfect location, easy communication, as advertised.
Absolutely stunning property. We will be back again soon.
The perfect place to rest and relax after a day of hiking beautiful North Carolina trails. Loved how remote the cottage is. A great writer’s getaway. Hot tub, creek and wood stove were perfect additions. A well-stocked kitchen — and nice surprise bonus of washer/dryer
We had a great time on our recent visit and we’re already talking about going back again in a different season. The cabin was exactly what we expected and wanted - secluded, cozy, relaxing, and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the sound of the stream outside, the remote location, and that it included all of the contemporary comforts (wifi, wireless speaker, fireplace, laundry, etc.). Looking forward to our next visit!
Super quiet and secluded area, address would not pull up on gps so definitely pay attention to written directions. Perfect for a weekend getaway.
The property was clean and nice and the property manager was very helpful. She even came out to help with the fireplace.
When we arrived we wanted to get in the hot tub, the top priority in our search for a cabin. The hot tub had been off for some time. Nobody checked it before our arrival, which also likely means it wasn’t cleaned. It took all night and all the next day to heat up, so we couldn’t use it for 1/3 of our trip. Speaking of cleanliness, there was a bad fruit fly infestation. Again, clearly no one had addressed this for some time. A dozen in each window, so many flying around the kitchen they fly into your face. We ate outside where we had no worries of bugs, and covered everything inside. The floor had obvious human hair on it, behind every cabinet was very dusty, just overall whoever is supposed to be cleaning and maintaining it is not doing a good job. The location is decent, equally far from everything. The stream by the cabin is indeed as nice as advertised. If it had been properly cleaned and the hot tub properly maintained, it would be 4 or 5 stars for the price. But as is I have to give it 2.5.
This is a great little place. Nice and quiet, off the main road. Love the Kitchen with the old Youngstown Sink base cabinet. The deck right on the creek is a plus! We had a great time.
Lovely cottage. The location by the creek is wonderful. The cottage was very clean and we had all the cookware needed to make dinner. There were some nice little decor details (rabbits) we enjoyed as well.
This property was pretty great. The location is perfect and so BEATIFUL!!! The outside portion on the back deck and hot tub, was by far my favorite part. Nature just totally surrounds you and you can hear the relaxing creek while you're soaking in the hot tub. The only thing, there was a distinct smell in the house that was different and outdated appliances or furniture. Other than that, we loved it!
We stayed here in the winter and came back for summer. The back porch is perfect for summer nights.
Felt like in middle of the forest as the place is off the beaten path - but still 30-40 min from some great hiking, food / beer in Asheville, Waynesville and Brevard. Host was so nice shipping back out “fancy” water bottles we left in fridge.
Stunning property with so many outdoor areas that are absolutely perfect for enjoying nature and letting all of your stress and worries melt away. Highly recommended (unless it's at the same time we want to go back =) ) !!
Beautiful cabin and property. Second year visiting in the summer. Can't beat peaceful sounds on the creek and proximity to parkway.
Another great stay at my favorite cabin! So many amenities and everything needed on hand to cook. The porch is wonderful for relaxing on during a brief rainstorm, and the hot tub is a plus!
This property is just wonderful! This home and location has everything needed for a great getaway. Even though not large, it is well appointed and comfy and the surroundings are gorgeous. Just a short-drive to many areas whether you want to go out to eat, shop, or visit the area attractions. If you want to just hang out and read a book or play games, you have a picturesque setting and the water is beautiful. Also, if you like to cook a nice meal there is everything you need to do so. We will surely be back again!
