Royal Gate Retreat Unit 4

This was an excellent rental you won’t be disappointed. The place is a hidden gem.

Great little cabin out away from the bustle of Canyon Lake. But still close enough to the lake and tubing.

The amenities were poorly maintained: there were roaches, both alive and dead, throughout; crumbs were on the kitchen counter around the toaster; bathroom had a lot of hair on and around the toilet; there was an abundance of dog hair, especially upstairs, on the beds, linens, and carpet. The downstairs bedroom was fine and seemed well-kept.

The hosts were very responsive and friendly! I’d have to say, number one reason to return are the hosts. The location was quiet and close to sites. We aren’t big sightseers- we go to places to get away from the Wisconsin winter. This year it followed us. We had to leave when it finally got nice.

Everything was easy upon arrival. The location offers an easy drive to many popular places in the New Braunfels and San Marcos area.

Clean and very nice and cool cabin. Parking was easy and enjoyed patio seating in the mornings

My boyfriend and I stayed here for spring break and it was perfect for us, we are 20 and 21. The location is not far from Wimberly or New Braunfels, I think is was like 20 minutes to either of there downtown areas. It has everything you need and the place is so cute and quiet. Coming from a college town we were so surprised how quiet it was! Cost was a big factor on where we decided to stay because we didn’t want to break the bank on our trip and this place exceeded our expectations. You could also rent out several of them if you had a big group of people. Overall, it was perfect and we would 100% stay here again.

My family is from the area so I like to bring my two young boys as often as possible to visit. We like to have our own space while we are in town and this was the perfect size for us and my mom. It is about 30 minutes from New Braunfels and an hour from San Antonio, the two places we split our time between. It was comfortable, quiet and clean.

We really enjoyed staying at Royal Gate Retreat! The comfortable well furnished tiny house was our home for the month of February to get away for colder winter weather in Northeast Kansas. We enjoyed front porch sitt'n! Liked that the roads were paved in the quiet country sitting. Great for bike riding and going for walks in the neighborhood. The dark night sky was perfect to see the parade of planets! Enjoyed our visits with our host.If we decide to repeat our trip next winter, we will definitely have Royal Gate Retreat on top of our list of options of places to stay,

We absolutely loved our stay at the Royal Gate Retreat. Located in a circle of the other properties with a grill at each and a grill in the central area (which is pleasant) Very quiet area, the owners are communicative and friendly. Within 20 minutes of Canyon Lake, Wimberley, New Braunfels and 30 from Gruene and San Marcos I would recommend

It was a fantastic experience! Owners Larry and Candy were great! Very kind and helpful, going out of their way to make our stay extremely enjoyable. The accommodations were perfect for us.

We booked this place for a short weekend to watch Georgia play Texas. It’s great if you want to go to San Antonio or Austin, because you’re right in between the two and it’s not a terribly long drive. The inside was great and spacious. It would be perfect for a small family or a couple of friends. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend.

The property was well kept, and the stay was enjoyable.
