Being right on the river with a beautiful view; being able to sit out at the end of the pier; the quietness of the neighborhood. The cottage was comfortable.
Beautiful place, well maintained. Lovely view.
Lovely neat and homey cottage next to the water, with a dock ready for watching sunsets.
Adorable getaway for a couple! The view is beautiful!! The cottage was very clean and perfect for 2.
I love being near water. The sunset was spectacular. It was everything I hope for. Gorgeous sunset off the water Peaceful, clean and cozy. The guest contact was attentive and amazing.
As a Biological Scientist who grew up idolizing Steve Irwin, this place was pure peace. I sat on the dock and watched eagles, terns, gulls, various water foul, and had an up close encounter with a Great Blue Heron that can be described as no less than utterly incredible. I absolutely love this place and it was only 20 minutes from my family living in Cobbs Creek! 110% will be back many, many times.
Great location, awesome dock. Authentic mid-century river cottage that is quite comfortable with good wifi, excellent hot water and extra towels. Guest book asks you to pack-out your trash/recycling upon departure. That is a routine part of the rivah life in Middlesex County, VA. There are drop off facilities along the way home.
I lived on this creek 30 years ago. It was interesting to see the changes. From small weekend cottages many had been replaced by year round homes. This cottage was very well equipped and worth the price.
We enjoyed our week.
Home was impeccably clean. View was incredible. Kitchen stocked well relative to house size. Parking was tricky but overall a lovely stay.
Relaxing, catching fish.
My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it! We fished, crabbed, and visited the local restaurants. The house was clean and had everything we needed. 10/10 recommendation
Quiet and peaceful
This is a lovely property with a wonderful view of Sturgeon's Creek. Actually the water was literally down the dock from the yard. My husband and I enjoyed sitting in the sun watching the boats on the water. The best part of the house was the sunroom where we spent a lot of time. The house was spotless and well-appointed with everything needed to make the stay pleasurable. Super quiet neighborhood and met some super nice folks staying in the house next door. We really enjoyed our week and the only downside was that it was over too soon. Thanks for giving us a lovely week in your home.
Beautiful cottage with killer views. Although my stay was in January, the sunsets were amazing. The home was clean and welcoming and the perfect getaway for a long weekend. .
Nice setting. In adequate heating when the temp drops below 40° Surfaces, receptacles, light switches in cleaned. Went around cleaning things on my own. What’s up with having to haul the garbage around to look for dumpsters in town?
Perfect mini vacay. Peaceful and relaxing.
All went well.
My husband and I stayed here to celebrate his birthday and we absolutely loved it. The waterfront location is gorgeous with sturdy, well constructed stairs and railings down to the long dock. We visited JW Seafood and asked their advice on bait for dock fishing on Sturgeon Creek. My husband used shrimp and caught and released 6 decent size bass off the end of the dock in one day! That was a lot of fun. And yes, he made me take a pic of each fish :) The furniture is super comfortable and there are some nice decorative touches in the cottage such as quilts. We appreciated coffee being provided which we enjoyed from the comfy folding outdoor chairs. The sunroom was a nice retreat from outside in the heat of the day. We spent hours relaxing and watching the boats on the water and two stunning sunsets. The owner was very responsive and helpful in sharing info about local shops before we arrived. We did a side trip to Mathews, VA to see the maritime museum which was quite interesting. If you are looking for quiet relaxation with stunning water views, this is your place. Thank you again!
Great Lil place. We arrived early and was able to get right in. The house everything we needed. Only downfall was no where to get in the wate but went up the road to Wake Public Beach. Spent hours there, very nice
Beautiful space on the water. Cottage was very clean with lots of thoughtful amenities (plenty of towels, games, tv options, chairs for outside, etc). Not shown in the pictures-- a small couch in the sun room (very grateful for this)! This was were we spent most of our time observing nature come and go during a storm and clearing of the storm the next day. Thank you for providing a calming space to retreat.
We were looking for a long quiet weekend and found =it in Deltaville. This cottage is perfect for two. Everything you need is provided plus and outstanding waterfront (really close!) location. We saw many birds and even had a Great Blue Heron give a fishing show out our window. Very relaxing and will use again. PS - Killer sunsets viewed from the back porch!
