Stayed Dec 31, 1969We - a family of four - had the most marvelous stay in this cozy house. Overlooking vast banana plantations and a view of the sea, the little blue house had all the amenities we could wish for. From the nice terrace with a shaded seating area we could easily enter the garden with its rich fruit trees (banana, passion fruit, papaya). The communication with the host was super easy and friendly and Susana was very helpful in all things and questions we had. Someday in the future, when I come back to Gomera, I surely will stay here again!

Stayed Sep 7, 2019What a great holiday home and location this is on the beautiful Canary island of La Gomera. We enjoyed our stay here very much. The house has everything you need, even a shake maker which you can use to make fresh mango or banana shakes from the garden. The house has a large garden with mango, banana, papaya and passion fruit trees and it is overlooking the Atlantic Ocean: what a great view that is. It is located in the middle of a banana plantation in Hermigua which supposedly seems to have one of the best climates in the world. We enjoyed having our breakfast and evening dinners on the outside terrace. Even in the evening it was great sitting outside on the terrace enjoying the cool breeze. If you want a relaxing holiday away from all the other tourists, this is the place for you: perfect location with great hiking trails and beaches nearby. Definitely worthwhile coming back here some other time.

Stayed Mar 17, 2019We had a great holiday in this little house. There is everything you could need and is very comfortable. We did have a couple of problems which were very quickly sorted out after an email. Definitely recommend for a couple who want a quiet holiday. The village is in a good location for walks but you would probably need to have a rental car to get around. A highlight for us was the proximity to the sea water pool which was lovely to get into after a day walking.

Stayed Feb 1, 2019This little house sits admist banana plantations in the valley of Hermigua. Hard to describe the views from the house other than absolutely fabulous! It is so tranquil. During the day the only sounds you may hear are the neighbouring cockerels, the odd dog barking, the rustle of the lizards in the undergrowth and the plantation men working. And at night the sound of distant frogs and the waves crashing on Santa Catalina beach. The house is very well equipped and cosy and the garden a peaceful retreat to sit and relax and just admire the beautiful mountains. And the hammock was surprisingly comfortable! There are bananas, mangos and papaya growing in the garden and we tried several different recipes for cooking the bananas which was fun. Susana the owner was only a call away if we needed advice and Ramon the local taxi driver brought us to and from the ferry. The walks around the valley are delightful, very hilly but the scenery is worth it. There is a local bus which passes through the village about 3 times a day in either direction and we found that fun for exploring. The village itself is about 1/2 mile walk away with plenty of little bars (Pedros was our favourite, a must if you’re a Pink Floyd fan!) or Tasca Telemaca sitting on the beautiful terrace outside with a glass of wine with its amazing mountain backdrop. This was also our favourite restaurant as the inside is quirky and they do a gorgeous fillet steak. If you walk there through the plantation you will also pass the goats and chickens, sheep and cows! Our other favourite restaurant was Las Characas just a short bus journey away (uphill!) then a nice stroll (3 miles) back to the Finca. We stayed here for the whole of February and only had a handful of cold days and a couple of wet ones. So take warm clothing with you as well and walking boots are a must. All in all a truly memorable holiday, very different and every day was a ‘wow’ day with the scenery. We did explore different villages but Hermigua was definitely our favourite and we will certainly be back!

Stayed Feb 24, 2018Our stay here meant we experienced some very interesting windy and wet weather but that didn't spoil a thing for us and the sun did shine quite a bit too. A very peaceful place to stay with fantastic views. Comfortable and homely and very highly recommended.

Stayed Nov 26, 2017We had a great stay here in Hermigua and the house is a great base to explore the island from. Set amongst the banana plantations it is very comfortable and quiet with just the sounds of daily life in the Hermigua Valley and the crashing of the waves. The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you need - we enjoyed cooking in the modern kitchen and eating out under the stars. The outdoor space is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the valley and mountain tops. Hermigua itself is one of the nicest places on La Gomera. We recommend the walk to Playa de Caleta, the walk from Alta de Garajonay, and dinner at El Faro in Hermigua!
