Beautiful place with lovely views!

Home is so beautiful and relaxing. This was our second stay and will be back again. Communication with host is easy.

Everything was in excellent order in the home. Shannon communicated well and gave clear instructions for check in. The welcome book was very thorough with regards to the local area.

The host is very welcoming. There were snacks upon arrival. The location is unbeatable. The house is adorable and very private. It was our second stay here and we didn’t want to leave.

Another wonderful 5 nights at the bay house, house is so beautiful and views of the bay from everywhere in the house, from the beautiful sunrises and sunsets to fishing on the dock, everything you need is right there, Shannon is a wonderful host and is always there when needed to answer questions, we will be back for a 3rd time!

We enjoyed our weekend away! The upstairs AC went out right before our stay, but the owner communicated clearly and offered alternatives. We had a little issue with gnats, but I know that is common and difficult to manage near water. Otherwise, everything was beautiful and the house was amazing. We kept dreaming and wishing this was our forever home.

Very relaxing and enjoyed hearing the calming sounds of the water on the Ware River from the screened in porch in the rocking chairs. Just what was needed to unwind. Area was quiet and people are friendly.

The house is super clean, the location cannot be beat. We had a wonderful week there. Unfortunately we were there in really warm, humid weather so we could not enjoy the outside ameneties as much as we would have liked but the house more than made up for that. Stunning views all around sunrise, sunsets, the sounds of the lapping waves. We would love to come back sometime when the weather is a little cooler.

Wonderful property with excellent host.

This property is an absolute delight and exactly as advertised. But wait, there's more. The house comes with fresh cut flowers, fine chocolates, popcorn and coffee. The views are amazing! The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. The screened porch is a delight and there is almost always a breeze. One of the unexpected joys of the stay was watching Shannon, the owner, walk her 3 geese to the river each day for a quick swim. So cute! The house is only 15 minutes from town but you definitely feel like you are out in the country. Nuttall's Store is a great place to grab a gourmet bite or bottle of wine and is only 5 minutes away. We are already booked for next year and I might just be back before then. I

First things first- best vaca rental I have ever booked!! Clean, updated, so so so cozy and was easy to settle in. They really make you feel welcome!We wanted waterfront in Virginia to do all the things with the kids in the area. This location was so perfect and a short drive from Busch Gardens, VA Beach, you name it, so it more than worked out! However if you wanted to come to a place and never leave? This place is the perfect spot for that as well! I probably dosed off in the rocking chair twice at night after the kids went down just listening to the water. My husband fished off the dock pretty much every single night lol. We checked out a few restaurants in town, amazing fare! Olivia’s! Go there, get all the food! We were sad we only made it once. Anyway, highly recommend!! Honestly, I hope we come back again soon!

Shannon’s property exceeded our expectations. The home features stunning views throughout. We appreciated the many places to relax and take in the scenery. The house was clean and well-equipped. We enjoyed the great location with many places to explore close by. We will be back!

My 2 sisters and I stayed for 4 nights. Beds were so comfortable, and we had everything we needed to make our stay a memorable one. Nice places to sit outside, and a long dock with benches made for great photos. We would definitely stay here again.

Property was amazing. In a quiet spot, with beautiful views, just the right distance from other amenities. Property is in great shape for being right on the water. The only thing I would add is heed the owner's warning to wear water shoes in the water, lots of oyster shells in there.

One of the best vacation rental we have ever experienced. Great information prior to check in, easy checkout.Went on vacation with my husband and had a friend join us for the first few days. Very relaxing atmosphere and we loved watching the bird activity on the water and in the surrounding area. Great little town to explore as well as close to the Historic Triangle. No complaints, a very positive experience.We will definitely be back!!!

Everything was great- from the comfortable furniture to the fully equipped kitchen (including the brand new refrigerator!) to the spectacular water views from every room. It is a delight to stay in this cottage and we look forward to returning!

This is our second stay here, and we love it so much! The house is super clean, fully stocked, and has all the essentials you might have forgotten at home! There is nothing more relaxing than sitting out in the hot tub overlooking the bay with a good book! We would recommend this house to anyone looking for a restful and relaxing getaway! I stay in many VRBO’s and this is by far my favorite! The pictures honestly don’t do this beautiful home justice! Between reading on the dock and hearing the water hit the rocks, to waking up and seeing the water from your bed. Cool evenings in the hot tub with a glass of wine and a good book is the icing on the cake for this gorgeous home!I can’t wait to come back!Absolute perfection!

There are so many wonderful things about this rental! The area is incredibly charming and the locals are dedicated to preserving the history. The French's have done a fantastic job of creating a welcoming rental and I'm so thankful I found this gem of a property!

Views views views! This place was unbelievably beautiful with the views from the windows. It was cold and rainy during our stay but that did not deter us from enjoying everything this place had to offer. From the hot tub downstairs to the main bedroom views it was fantastic. We went Saturday night just up the road to the Flat Iron Croasroads place for live music and it was great. The place was packed and the band was awesome. We will be booking again in the spring or summer for sure

’m almost hesitant to write this review because this place is just that good. My wife and I spent a perfect weekend here and couldn’t have asked for more. The house is beautifully appointed and thoughtfully decorated, creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere from the moment you walk in.The entire upper floor is dedicated to the master suite, offering a third-story view that feels like a private retreat. The bed is one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in—like sinking into a cloud. And then there’s the shower… spacious, with multiple shower heads, and big enough for two. Pure luxury.It’s the kind of place you don’t want to leave, and if I had my way, I wouldn’t tell anyone else just to keep it all to ourselves. But it’s too amazing not to share. If you’re considering it, book it—you won’t regret it.Let me know if you’d like to make it even more playful, romantic, or add any details about the kitchen or outdoor spaces!

Shannon's home is gorgeous. My husband and I had a fantastic time celebrating our anniversary here. The views are exquisite and the cottage is very comfortable. It was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. It feels remote and isolated but food and stores are only 15 minutes away! We can't wait to return!peaceful and very comfortable.

The property is well situated on the land to take advantage the views of the water. Sitting in the master bedroom and looking out onto the water is magical. The host has everything you could need to make meals if your bring food. The grill works great for steaks. We did not use the hot tub but it was nice and warm if we had wanted to. Host provided several recommendations for eating out and we enjoyed their favorite (Olivias) and one other for breakfast (Pancake House) and you will not be disappointed. Can't say enough about how relaxing it was to spend some time in this nice quiet vacation house.

Shannon was an excellent hostess. The home exactly as described; clean, comfortable, with views from every direction. We took the French family recommendations and had delicious meals at Olivia’s in the Village, Scoots BBQ, YROC had the best shrimp, and Yorktown Pub. The museums and historical stops were well presented. Coming back to this waterfront home was a welcoming end to the day.

We didn’t want to leave. This place is heaven. Simply amazing.

We were two. Away for our 28th wedding anniversary. The house is located in a great place for a quiet stay! The master bedroom is like a treehouse which looks out into the water. Watching the sunrise from bed is energizing. The living dining area has nice views of the docks and sun sparkling off the water. The screened porch was a nice place for breakfast, a coffee, or an evening libation. We stay in homes rented by owners often (eight times since January 2024). This house was very nice. I like to prepare our meals, and the kitchen had a few essentials (olive oil, salt, pepper), nice knives, and dish ware fine for the two of us. The furniture was comfortable and we enjoyed lounging around reading books with the “fire” going. I was able to kayak one time and I wish I could have gone out more (temperatures and wind deterred me). If you go, Ware Neck Produce (also has GREAT fresh seafood- $4 soft shells), the village of Mathews (cute place to walk around and nice restaurant- the White Dog Bistro), and Nuttalls General Store (expensive but fun to poke around in) should be considered. The slow arrival down the drive to the expansive water view will enhance your decompression. Enjoy!

The house and property was absolutely beautiful, very clean, very quiet and peaceful, me and the hubby did lots of fishing, and just relaxed! Had a wonderful time and will be back with our kiddos! Shannon (host) was very fast to reply with answers to my questions, great host!

We had a great stay at the property - check-in was smooth, the propert was extremely clean and well appointed, and watching the sunset from the dock exceeded our expectations. The house was clean and well prepared for our arrival, the kitchen was well appointed, and all of the amenities worked as the shiuld and were user friendly. Next time we are looking to stay in the area this will be our first choice to reserve again.

This was my fifth stay in the cottage. Everything was perfect. I can’t say enough how perfect this cottage is.

 The Jarvis Point home might be the most fantastic VRBO home that we have ever visited. It is true waterfront and outstandingly so - it is probably 30feet from the shore. It offers an unbelievably panoramic view of the waterfront, especially from the bedroom on the third floor. We found the home most suited for a couple with youngsters, or a couple with a young adult as was the case for us. It is an outstanding home and a special place with every amenity.

This was our second stay at this amazingly peaceful property. My favorite feature is the surround windows in the master bedroom, being able to have the fresh air and sounds of the water at night. Had everything we could possibly need. Thank you Shannon for being an excellent host!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our visit over Labor Day weekend. The house is well equipped and perfectly decorated, and there's plenty to do outside as well. Swimming/kayaking in the river, fishing off the two docks, soaking in the hot tub, or just lounging in one of the many spots around the property. We had a great time shopping at Nuttall's and walking in downtown Gloucester. There are many other things to do within a 30-45min drive, but we couldn't find a reason to leave :)

The cottage was adorable. Very clean and stocked with everything you could need. The surrounding scenery was magnificent. Close to every restaurant imaginable. Close to local parks. Definitely coming back. Tammy B

This was a girls trip with my daughters (ages 17 & 12) and 16yo niece. We were excited to travel to the east coast, when we generally travel west. Easy keyless entry. Very comfortable home on the water of the Ware River. There is a great room upstairs and smaller bedroom on main floor. All rooms very clean. Fresh linens and towels. Kitchen fully supplied except toaster. Screened in porch for reading and meals. Also reading and relaxing chairs on ground floor of property with hot tub. This house served all of our needs for the trip. Access to 2 docks. We took the kayaks out our first morning to watch sunrise. We brought our own life jackets since we are seasoned kayakers. I didn't look but assume they supply life jackets. I was disappointed to not receive communication back from the owner on two points. I had sent a message 2months prior to our visit about potential areas for Ebike or segway tours in order to plan some events for the week. I did not receive a message back from her until the 2nd day of vacation. Also, the electricity went out (effects of Hurricane Debby) on last night of the stay. I let owner know (as I'm sure they were also aware since they live walking distance away). The firealarm then went off repeatedly at 1am until I could disarm it. We were not warned that we would not have water (from well) when electricity went out. We made due without water next morning and left earlier than planned since it was so hot/humid without air conditioning.

This is one of the cleanest rentals we have ever stayed in. The area is very quiet and is not a tourist trap. The kayaks were wonderful. Great VRBO A++

From the moment we pulled into the drive we knew we were going to LOVE this place! Very private and quiet, but located 15mins from the stores/restaurants in town. You cannot beat this view!! the cottage was wonderfully decorated and very clean. The kitchen had everything you needed including seasonings you may have forgotten. Loved the master shower and how the AC kept everything cool even when it was 95 degrees. The beds were comfortable and the hot tub was clean. Lots of little extra touches....wine glasses, beach chair, kayaks etc. We always had a nice breeze at the patio. Got up early and sat on the dock with coffee. Great communication from Shannon. Cute general store close by. I have to mention that im very surprised being this close to the water and being so hot, there werent any bugs or mosquitoes at all!

Absolutely gorgeous views! The home has an open floor plan with tons of natural light. The decorating is immaculate and you feel right at home. The owner even put together a book with restaurants, local history and places to visit. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
