Dramatically set on the side of a mountain, overlooking a sparkling clean, spring-fed 12-acre lake, our cottage is perfect for honeymooners or nature lovers-- or anyone who appreciates peace and quiet. It's tucked away down a private road-- secluded, quiet and private, surrounded by the beauty of Maine's woods. There's a horse stable on our road with beautiful horses including miniatures.
The cottage features a high deck facing our 200 feet of natural lake frontage with dock and canoe.

Stayed May 23, 2019House was great! Really enjoyed out stay, Wonderful layout of place- small, but doesn't feel small. Only downside was the drive in on the dirt road - not grated yet, so it had many large potholes. Luckily not a problem for out vehicle.

Stayed Jun 4, 2026This property is in a very quiet and secluded area. The dirt road in is maintained well and the scenery is beautiful. The home is beautiful, loved the decor, and had wifi and Roku tv. We found the walk down to the lake was too steep for us to walk safely (late 70’s) so we sat on the deck. We know the area well as we have family living in Freedom. The access to groceries is close as well as gas. Other stores are in Augusta. Went to Bar Harbor and Cadillac Mountain which was beautiful. Highly recommend this home and owner. Will stay again.

Stayed May 20, 2026We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage. The peace and quiet were exactly what we needed, and the serene pond view off the back deck made every morning and evening feel like a peace of heaven. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with everything we could possibly need, making cooking a pleasure. Every detail of this cottage contributed to a truly relaxing getaway. We couldn't have asked for more.

Stayed Jul 5, 2025filthy, living room did not look as advertised, dirt and hair on couch, dirt, bugs and windows. It's a pity since the windows faced the woods and lake and the breeze would have been fantastic if it was so terribly dirty and smelled musty.

Stayed Jul 9, 2023The place had everything we needed, was comfortable bright and clean. Surrounded by trees and plenty of sun or shade as preferred. The canoe was easy to get to and launch. The natural stone walk down to the pond was energizing. The fish were definitely jumping. Mid week very quiet and private. Weekend pretty much the same.

Stayed Jun 26, 2023House was exactly as described. Very clean and nicely decorated. Kitchen well stocked. Great for a relaxing getaway and home base to explore other towns. Only recommendation would be some maintenance on path to pond.
