Welcome to Kenson Camp!

Kenson camp is 3 br 1 full bath with 1,000 sq ft of living space sitting right on the water with incredible views of Locke Pond with the western mountains on the horizon. Kenson Camp sits on its own 5 acres, with a completely private driveway leading all the way into the cabin. Seclusion and privacy at its best! The view of the lake is facing north, so you will get both sunrise and beautiful sunset views. Arguably the best location on the lake!

Inside youwill find 2 bedrooms in the rear of the camp. Both downstairs bedrooms have queen size beds. The 3rd bedroom is the entire upstairs holding 4 beds. There are 3 standard full size and 1 twin size bed upstairs. The bathroom has been newly remodeled with a full tub and shower with a built in Bluetooth speaker on the ceiling to listen to music while relaxing in the tub or shower. On-site well and septic system with a new large water heater for those long hot showers or for that hot bath to relax in. The kitchen area has a full size refrigerator with freezer, stove/oven, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, crock pot, coffee maker, electric griddle, etc. Silverware, cutting knives, pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, utensils are all included in your rental. WIFI is included. The living area has a sectional couch with ottoman, and separate reclining chair all sitting around the wood fireplace. Wood is available if you get a cool evening and need to start a fire. Portable free standing electric heaters are also available to use if needed but usually not necessary during the summer. The living area has a 50” wall mount smart tv, and each of the downstairs bedrooms have a 43” wall mount smart tv. A selection of dvds are available for use or you can stream onto the tv with your own device, bring your own movies, or entertainment system. Cell phone reception is usually decent with at&t, Verizon, t mobile from my experience. The enclosed porch is where you will find the 6-person dining table, a comfy couch with matching chair, and a pub table to enjoy the waterfront views of the lake. Also there is a big selection of board games available.

Outside you will find your own sandy beach area, 45’ dock to take you out on the water, a 2-person paddle boat, canoe, and 2 kayaks are included for your use. A fire pit is right on the waters edge for your pleasure. A stainless propane grill is available for your use. There is plenty of area to go exploring, walks, hikes, bike rides, etc. There is also sand pond which is right across the road from the driveway that has a public beach access area. There is usually plenty of wildlife around the lake, anything from the loons singing, to bald eagles, ducks, all kinds of birds, beavers, turtles, frogs, etc.

Locke Pond is a fun lake for recreation. Canoeing, paddle boating, swimming and fishing are just some of the possibilities of fun you can have. The lake is full of largemouth bass, yellow perch, white perch, chain pickerel, and sunfish. Locke Pond does NOT have any public boat ramps. Any type of boat, canoe, kayak that you can carry to the water is welcome. Please adhere to local and state boating and fishing regulations. There is a local corner store that has take out food, all of your convenience store items, and also live bait for fishing.

While being on the lake here in the western mountains of Maine, you are only 10-15 minutes away from Wilton & Farmington which hosts a bowling alley, movie theater, bars and restaurants, shopping, ice cream shops, coffee shops, golf courses and some of your large stores like Walmart, tractor supply, dollar store, big lots, etc.

Within an hour you have just about all that Maine has to offer. Whitewater rafting, hiking, game fishing, atv/side by side/dirt biking on the state trail system, sight seeing, whale watching, deep sea fishing, and of course, plenty of Lobster!

Beautiful Rangely Maine is about an hour away, bar harbor and Acadia national park is about a 2hr 45min drive, but well worth spending a day there! Boothbay, Portland, and so many others are nearby for day trips.

Currently we are asking guests to bring your own linens. If you need linens provided, we will assess on a case by case basis.

This is a rustic cabin on the lake and in the woods that provides a great experience of the Maine outdoors on a lake that has very few rental/vacation opportunities. Any further detailed information can be provided upon request.

Our family of 5 really enjoyed this unique cabin nestled in the secluded woods on Locke pond in Maine.the Host Corey was more than accommodating and also provided very accurate instructions for check in.From the moment we pulled in we had literal butterflies surrounding our car and were greeted with an amazing view of Locke pond and the mountains on the Horizon. The kids immediately ran to the dock which was the hot spot all week for fun water activities. The included paddle boat was a huge hit for the kids to explore the lake with Dad.There were alsopool noodle raftsthat were perfect for the kids self guided adventures around the dock.Hear and see the wildlife,Loons and Mink were frequent visitors. The yard is private and has well maintained grass. The fire pit was perfect for s'mores with plenty of wood to burn that was provided for you.The kitchen had every utensil you could think of, and was also decently clean and organized. The bathroom was great with an oversized tub and Bluetooth speaker exhaust fan which made cleaning up from the lake fun for the kids. The kids room, which is upstairs, had 4 beds and a few toys/board games to keep them entertained. The downstairs bedrooms were decently sized with TV in each room and movies(DVDs)provided. You will definitely feel the cabin vibes throughout the entire house from the mounts on the walls to the handmade furniture, and decorations.Grocery stores are only a 20 minute drive into town which made stocking the cabin easy.

This was probably one of our favorite vacations. The house was beautiful and though it looks small it easily fit our family of seven. The property is gorgeous and secluded and so quiet it is perfect for relaxing and unwinding. We will definitely come here again.

If your the husband booking the trip fyi no dishwasher or washer /dryer. It does not say they have one and I totally overlooked it. Wife hates me now lol. The boys caught 65 bass and 1 pickerel. Nothing from the dock so go out 100ft in the middle. Cant really swim unless they had a floating dock further out its just to murky even with the mat. We really wanted to swim on our vacation but couldn't. If your planning not to leave than this is the spot. If your planning on going on daily adventures this is not the spot everything is to far. Friendly neighborhood and responsive host. The convenience store actually sells homemade indian food on thursdays, fridays and saturdays. Very good.

the camp was perfect. the pond was so shallow. it was very murky despite the valiant attempt to mitigate with a mat.

Very happy with our stay except fishing was not what we had hoped for. Paddleboat was fun and we saw eagles, osprey and 6 loons in this little pond.

This is a great cabin on a quiet pond. The house is roomy and comfortable, the beds are nice. We saw bald eagles, osprey, and loons daily. The fishing is fabulous if you’re looking for large and small mouth bass and perch. The house comes with lots of both indoor and outdoor fun opportunities. We loved the porch and all the seating for meals. The fire pit is perfectly placed with plenty of available wood and seating. They also have a nice grill and a wonderful Blackstone which made outdoor cooking easy. This was great because the stove/oven struggled and there was no crock pot as expected (just the outer shell of one). When we arrived the grill was dirty, the Blackstone and cover were full of bacon grease and food pieces, and someone had thrown food in the woods. The fire pit wasn’t cleaned out and there were cobwebs in the kitchen. Not a huge deal for a lake cabin though a bit of a disappointing start. After spending an hour or so cleaning we were good to go. The owner’s Grandfather lives on the lake and came by to say hi and take us around on his pontoon boat. He was lovely and told us all about the history and homes there. Overall this was a lovely, peaceful retreat. Just needs a better cleaning crew.

Our family has stayed at Locke Ponde for several years in a row. This property has been consistently clean and full of many great amenities. The fishing is great and mostly enjoyed sitting on the new porch listening to the loons and birds singing. Already looking forward to returning.next year.
