Loon Lodge was purchased in the spring of 2016 and renovated to be family friendly, open, and comfortable! We hope you enjoy sharing our Maine getaway! You can see some of the renovation and lake photos on Instagram @LoonLodgeMaine

House: There are 3 bedrooms on the upper floor (master with queen bed, guest room with full bed, and guest bedroom with two twin beds), 3 bathrooms, and a bonus room downstairs with a pullout couch for extra sleeping. Bedrooms also have plenty of room fora pack and play (available), air mattress, etc. Living & dining room have huge windows that overlook the lake as well as a new rustic dining table and huge sectional couch. There is a full kitchen with an eat-in breakfast area and desk. The house has a small deck, 3-season porch, fire pit, and a charcoal grill.. Also, if you're coming with little ones, there is plenty of baby/toddler gear available if needed (bed rails, high chair, toddler dining chair, pack and play, books, games, kids plates/cups/bowls/etc).

Lakefront and Lake Description: Stairs lead from the house down the hill to a private beach area with 4 sections of dock, canoe, paddle boat and kayak available for use (included). Norcross Pond is one mile long with camps and homes along one side only – keeping the lake quiet. Water is clear and the lake has a sandy bottom for great swimming. Speed boats, pontoon boats, and jet skis are allowed, but since the lake is small you don't gets boats out all day. A boat ramp is available if you want to bring your own boat (note, the boat ramp is dirt and steep). The lake is full of bass, perch, and stocked with trout, so bring your fishing rods. There are also nearby places for blueberry picking, hiking, movies, ice cream, restaurants, etc. Fall is wonderful for walking around the lake, hiking at nearby mountains, kayaking, canoeing, and viewing foliage. Winter is perfect for ice fishing (stocked with trout), snowmobiling (trails are next to the lake to get you throughout the Maine trail system), ice skating, and skiing at an array of ski areas within an hour.

Local Things to Do: blueberry/strawberry/apple picking, movie theater, ice cream, lobsters, restaurants, markets, festivals, antique shops, biking, beer garden, and more.

Nearby Excursions: Farmington, Belgrade Lakes, Mount Blue, multiple ski mountains, Sandy River Railroad, DEW Animal Farm, Norlands Living History Center, Golf (Turner Highlands, Sandy River, Wilson Lake, and others), U Maine Farmington events, and more. Lots of excursions (hiking, skiing, ocean, and more) within 1-2 hours.

amazing, clean property to disconnect from city living, with a full kitchen and open concept — exactly what we were looking for. the docks in the back were great to fish off of!the included kayak, canoe, and paddleboat on the property make the stay well worth the time. don’t miss the opportunity to make s'mores over the fire pit!

Needed a place for UMF Parents Weekend. This cabin was perfect. Grandparents, myself and 16yo son. Large and comfy. Very clean. We had a wonderful time hanging out between events on campus. Could not have asked for anything else. Looking forward to reserving again in the future. Thank you so much.

beautiful view, and enjoyed the provided canoe, and the swimming dock. It took 42 stairs to get to the lake, but the stairs were in good repair, and the railings were solid. We enjoyed local restaurants and farm stands. Our only complaint was the indoor furniture was not comfortable for seniors (too low, canted back). We brought the polastic lawn chairs in, and that helped.

Our stay at Loon Lodge was one for the books! We made many memories swimming, jumping off the dock, fishing and making s'more's. The house had everything we needed and you can’t beat the location. We loved hearing the loons! I recommend for families looking for a memorable vacation :)

It was our first stay through vrbo. We only had a couple days so our stay was short. Everything was as expected according to the details on the property. The owners were very good about answering a few questions i had. If you have littles with you, you have to pay very good attention as the trail leading to the water is quite steep. Everything inside the house was comfy and had extras such as toys, games, etc for the littles. The smart tv had plenty of options to watch as well. There was even bug spray on the porch in case you forget to bring some. The only thing that i wasn't expecting was the beds had to be made up upon arrival, but that might just be how they usually are? Overall great stay.

Our stay was perfect. The property is right on the lake and very peaceful, even during the Fourth of July. Thank you for accommodating us!

We had a wonderful time at this charming lake house in Chesterville, Maine. The location was perfect—peaceful and tucked into nature, yet just a short drive to Farmington for anything we needed. While it rained the entire weekend, the cozy setup made it easy to relax indoors and enjoy the sound of the rain. On the second day, we were able to take advantage of the beautiful fire pit, which became the perfect spot to unwind and reconnect with nature despite the weather.Thank you so much for your warm hospitality and for creating such a welcoming space. We’re looking forward to returning—hopefully with a little more sunshine next time!

Had a great fall weekend. Family of 7, adults and 2 small children. Plenty of toys and games for the whole family. Loved paddling around the pond. House was clean and fully stocked, wanted for nothing. Host family were great to talk to and ready to help if needed. Highly recommend for a quiet, relaxing getaway!

Thank you first of all for sharing this home. The two things for us is the windows in kitchen and cellar should have dark curtains for privacy at night. The chairs by the fire pit looked like they were front of the pond, but were up levels. Maybe sitting area at the bottom also. Once again beautiful cabin.
