Private Cottage Steps to the Beach-just four homes back from the dunes & ocean

Nicely decorated and furnished house. Ceiling fans and mini-split a/c units kept interior very comfortable. We enjoyed evenings on the upper deck. Two minute walk to beach was a big plus. Location perfect for visiting near-by towns. Owner quick to respond to questions.

I had such a wonderful time at this beach cottage that I'm tempted to leave a terrible review, so no one else tries to rent it. Maybe 50 feet from the beach, this one-bedroom cottage with a king bed in the loft was perfect for our 4-night getaway over the holiday weekend.The kitchen was well-stocked and useful to save money on restaurants. The beds were extremely comfortable.I'm 6'1 so I had to remember to duck when going up the spiral stairs into the loft. My mother and I shared delightful conversation over coffee on the rooftop deck — no views, but fun nonetheless. Close enough to listen to the ocean and smell the sea spray!But honestly, we were so close to the water that our family spent all the time we could out of the house and on the shore. The outdoor shower came in clutch, with hot water (a rarity for outside showers). There was only one shower inside, but the extra shower more than made up for it, and helped to manage sand.It really felt like we were a guest in Nancy's home and my family was thrilled with our stay. I couldn't recommend Nancy or the cottage more… just please don't book during our vacation time next year!The cottage is brighter than in the photos, with the multiple skylights. And the AC units kept us cool when we were recharging from the beach.My personal favorite feature was an old ship's mast from a tall ship in the late 18th or early 19th century. We didn't spend much time around it, but it lent charm and personality to our vacation!

We loved our stay at the Cricket Cottage and definitely plan to return. Everything was as described and it was beautifully decorated, very homey feel.

This is a wonderful little place to stay at! So close to the beach you can pack and bag and walk without having to worry about parking or unloading a car. Dewey beach is the perfect little town. Not too crowded or busy like Rehoboth. I have zero negative things to say about this stay. Cottage had everything we needed and then some.

We had a wonderful stay and are so grateful to have been so close to the beach. Great washing machines and excellent AC. Loved having the grill. All the kitchen stuff you could need and even included dog bowls. Some of the furniture could be refreshed as it feels worn down. Overall checked all the boxes we needed for a beach week.

Nancy’s cottage is so charming and has such a warm, comfy feel to it. The beds and couch/love seat were all so comfortable and can’t beat the location, steps to the beach and to restaurants/shops in Dewey. My favorite restaurant, Woody’s (best crab cakes ever!) at end of street. The cottage has so many nice touches including a wall magnifying mirror in bathroom for my aging eyes! Communication w/Nancy excellent and great instructions in house on how to operate everything from TV to lights & fans. Really nice gas grill too. And get a bite with your dog at “The Light House” on the Bay by The Hyatt - most dog friendly restaurant in Dewey. Been vacationing in Dewey for years and Nancy’s cottage at top of my list. Highly recommend!!!

The cottage is adorable. Tastfully decorated and well equipped for a wonderful stay. You are within walking distance of all of Dewey Beach and have easy access to the beach. The neighborhood is friendly and welcoming. We love having our 2 small pups with us to enjoy vacation. We plan on coming back often.

Cozy, well appointed, excellent location

This house is in the absolute perfect location. Bars and restaurants to the right and the beach to the left!! We walked anywhere and everywhere we had to go. And, as all the action surrounded us, once we were inside this charming little beach cottage, all was calm, quiet and peaceful. My son and daughter and his dog joined us for the first part of the vacation from Sunday - Tuesday and then my girlfriend and her husband joined us from Wednesday- Friday after they left. The house is literally three houses from the beach. Every morning, I was able to walk just steps to the beach to see the sunrise. I’m a photographer and had the opportunity to take some amazing images during our vacation time. The house has plenty of room for four people, beds were super comfortable and the house smelled super clean when we arrived. We had a few days of wicked wind on the beach, so we opted for time on the rooftop deck, which was absolutely awesome. It was warm and cozy up there, and you can literally hear the waves crashing onto the shore from the rooftop. I can’t tell you how many times I close my eyes and drifted off. Unfortunately, our time expired and we had to go home. I would love to come back someday it is a perfect, perfect little cottage!!!!!

Great location but have to bring own sheets and towels. Noisey air-conditioning.

We had a lovely stay at Nancy's little cottage. It was equipped with everything you could possibly need. Nancy (the Host) was SO accommodating to us. She really makes you feel like you are in your home away from home! Just steps away from the beach and town makes this a perfect location for your vacation. I highly recommend this property!!
