Great location, quiet place, clean and close to restaurants and entertainment.

It was a beautiful place for a getaway, and the hosts were very friendly and helpful.

What a great place to stay, all the comforts of home!

This riverside cottage is an oasis to get away from the crazy world we live in. Spending time outside, watching the water work go by, or a roaring evening fire feels rejuvenating yet relaxing. The hosts are super nice and brought over some special treats - oysters! Great place to unwind and decompress. I would definitely rebook this one!

We had an amazing time in this beautiful cottage! The owners were so kind and respectful. The cottage has everything you need to enjoy your stay comfortably and peacefully. The view of the sunset is breathtaking! We can’t wait to come back again and keep enjoying every minute of it.

The hosts were welcoming and responsive! our questions were answered in a timely way. Although we did not have good weather, we enjoyed the cozy charm of the cottage. We can highly recommend this site!

Nice place.

Above and beyond expectations! We have stayed in many VRBO's and this is only the second time that the property was much better than we expected. The pictures do not do the cottage justice. The decor is tasteful and comfortable. Many thoughtful extras were provided. The water is just a few feet from the back door and the sunset pictured on site is what we arrived to that evening. Only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer.

No all thing that we need to cook, but most of it. The place was clean. The water wasn’t good, too salty, the bathroom too small. The mattress wasn’t comfortable. Water on the kitchen stink.

This is the 3rd time staying at Potomac River Getaway at McKays Beach, which should say it all. Very clean, homey, comfortable, unbelievable location and views. Lauri and Scott are so very friendly, as well. We'll be back again!

Thank you Lauri and Scott for welcoming us to your beautiful cottage and beach! This was a great fit for our family of four with two school age boys. I liked the open space in the home so I could see our boys play while I was prepping food in the kitchen. I appreciated that the kitchen had all I needed to make simple meals. I loved that the beach was right out down below the lawn so our boys could have fun skipping rocks, finding shells and sea glass and come right back inside to cool off. We had so much fun kayaking to the longer beach and back and on our last full day we got to see a thunderstorm roll in. It was a beautiful place to spend a few days to rest and play. Lauri annd Scott, you are wonderful hosts!! We hope to come back!

The house/host exceeded our expectations! Lori and Scott are fantastic hosts and live right next door. The sunset views are amazing and the house is well equipped. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to stay there again. There are fantastic, affordable dining options.

The cool ac and the clean home was a great introduction to our stay! The house was very nice and clean also well stocked. Lauri and Scott were both great hosts. We loved relaxing fishing kayaking and more on the Potomac river.

This was our third trip to the Potomac River Getaway and it was just as wonderful as the past two times! It’s so beautiful and relaxing, and Lauri and Scott are perfect hosts. Our family loves it. The beach is perfect for the kids there are plenty of things to do in the area! We plan to return again and again!

Wonderful backyard view, comfy beds and a overall great place to stay for a few nights. Kitchen was well stocked with anything needed for all meals.

A very nice, quiet, and private weekend get away to celebrate a B-Day! Very clean and well stocked. It was a perfect spot for some quiet, uninterrupted fishing and college football. The weather was perfect. We will more than likely return for another stay!

Four elders on a roots journey enjoyed two nights on the shores of the Potomac, lovely, comfortable and convenient. We had to change our plans twice, which our host accommodated with good humor. Everything about the house was a pleasure.

Four roots enthusiasts enjoyed every minute in this charmingly modern-traditional bungalow, with the river literally at our feet and a wonderful blue heron to greet us each morning.

This location was a wonderful place to get away from life. The sunsets are great and it's very quiet. It's right on the water and perfect for kayaking. We were able to do day trips to Calvert Cliffs and Historic St Mary's City/St Mary's College of Maryland. The house was comfortable and clean. The owners provided a lot of items that we needed. We hope to return in the future.
