Popham Beach Direct Oceanfront Cottage Steps to the sand

Beach view was amazing. Pet friendly. Comfortable beds. cute cottage at one time but sorely neglected in cleanliness. Fridge not clean, windows that don't open or shut all the way. Bedroom door won't shut due to rubbing on floor. Breakers kept tripping if we had the coffee pot and toaster on at the same time. Cottage location was exceptional but for the cost the cottage was not well maintained and needed repairs badly. Would have stayed again however well look for a more maintained location in the future.

We had a fabulous week at Popham Beach. The beach is incredible and we enjoyed walking it every day. There are a lot of other activities within driving distance as well as great restaurants. The cottage was just perfect for the two of us but would have worked well if other family would have been able to join us. Deb is a great host and got back to us quickly about any questions / concerns that we had

The views are non-stop all day long. The cottage is cute and clean and has all the necessary amenities. The hosts are super responsive. Cute decor all around (and not clutter). TV and internet worked well. I was able to bring my dogs - who loved are three daily beach walks. I brought dog gates so they could go outside the cottage to do their business. The trash receptacles are easy to use.There were only two things that I would recommend fixing. The kitchen faucet is loose - a little wobbly when you turn on the water.The bed in the main bedroom (the one with the only bed) was quite soft and I overheated every night. I don't have that problem at home - nor did I have that problem when I stayed in a different cottage two years ago. I'm wondering if it's the mattress material? Even with the window open and letting it get cold, I was way too hot.

Clean, easy access, comfortable, amazing views, walks on the beach, hear and smell the ocean... all the comforts you need / expect for cottage... only complaint is parking a little tight for full sized p/u (Tundra) and wife's car - but managable.. Overall - Excellent Choice for small family 2 couples

Everything we had hoped for.

Good beach location.

The cottage was lovely - well supplied with all necessary items. Deb responded quickly to the two questions I had when I was there. For the first time in my life, I got to see some snow on the beach! we traveled a bit both north and south of our location to see the local sites: went to Popham Beach State Park, Fort Baldwin, Fort Popham and went to the L.L. Bean flagship store - beautiful walks on the beach daily.

I'd like to see the other cabins. This one was a little raw but perfectly fine. Heat worked great, beds were good. If you want a nice dinner you would need to drive a ways. No restaurants in the immediate area that were open in October. If you like peace and quite then this place is perfect.

Perfect location

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Popham Beach. The beach is so beautiful. We just loved walking the beach. There is so much to do nearby too. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped. Deb's email communication is timely and very clear.

Very cute and clean cottage, lovely and well-appointed kitchen, comfortable beds. Perfect weather. The cottage sits on a bluff overlooking the beach; it’s beachfront, but you can’t actually see the beach directly in front of the house. Quite a steep set of stairs to descend to gain access; so glad I’m still fairly fit for a senior citizen otherwise hauling a beach chair and a bag with a dog on a leash would not have been possible.

My husband and I stayed here with our 4 year old and dog just after labor day. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and we all had a blast exploring Fort Popham and Fort Baldwin and taking a walk to the island during low tide. There were two restaurants within a 10 min drive (one of them much better than the other) and day trips to Bath and/or Boothbay Harbor were reasonable distance. Only thing that would make it perfect is if the beach access was not impacted by the tides (not accessible at high tide), but we lucked out with tide schedule that it wasn't too impactful. The location is Maine oceanfront at it's finest. The stretch of private beach is dog friendly and well-maintained between the historical fort and the State park. It's breathtaking with a lighthouse and small islands in view. The accommodations offered everything we needed and more. The owner was exceptional in her level of communication and customer service. We hope to be return guests. Thank you Deb!

Family of four: 6/4 yr old kids, we had a BLAST! Location was perfect for watching seals bobbing in the waves with coffee and seeing the three light houses turn on at dusk. We love not having to drive while away, so we beach-walked everywhere (except to get lobster a few coves over). Cabin was very clean, fully ready for an off-season stay (heating worked great). Kitchen had all tools needed for full meal prep (there was little to no take out available off season) and laundry-washer and dryer. Water was always hot. Parking easy. For our family, it was a relaxing and joyful ocean-centered escape from the daily grind! Hosts were very quick with communications and responsive to our needs during the stay.
