Region: The Isle of Wight, with its beaches, unspoiled scenery, rich heritage and over 500 miles of award-winning public footpaths is a walker’s paradise, or if sailing is your thing, the renowned annual Cowes Week is not to be missed.

Town: The attractive seaside town of Yarmouth is the oldest town on the Isle of Wight, and its busy harbour is a haven for all kinds of watercraft, with the terminal used for regular mainland ferry crossings to Lymington. Yarmouth’s narrow streets are home to an attractive array of shops and inns, whilst a visit to Henry VIII’s castle is not to be missed. There's great cycling (and a cycle hire shop) and walking to be had along the coastal path. Why not take an energetic stroll at the nearby Tennyson Down and Headon Warren. Sandhard beach is 15 minutes' walk away, with Colwell Bay with its sandy beach and amenities for the family 7 minutes away by car. Yarmouth's pier and sailing club jetty is another good spot for crabbing. Four miles away is Compton Bay, famous for dinosaur remains; head there at low tide and see if you can find the two enormous three-toed feet. West Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Yarmouth is an ideal base from which to explore this wonderful island.

The cottage was beautiful decorated to a very good standard and well equipped to make us feel welcome and relaxed on our holiday. The site is very peaceful and well located within walking distance of the pretty town of Yarmouth. Everything is accessible on lovely Isle of Wight and we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Our favourite place to visit was Osborne House. Next time we will come for a week.

We spent 3 nights in John and Liz's lovely holiday home in Yarmouth. The accomodation had everything we needed, was well presented and very welcoming. The little house itself is tucked into the far corner of the site so it's nice and private and a great sun trap! There's a lovely green where the children can play safely and it's an easy 20 minute walk into the centre of Yarmouth with a 7yo and 9yo.The hosts were brilliant at communicating with good tips for local attractions and eateries (we enjoyed some scrumptious food at The Cow at Tapnell) and also enabled a welcome saving on the Whitelink Ferry.Highly recommend!
