Exuma Vacation Cottages: located away from the congestion and noise of George Town. The cottage has equipped kitchen, living room, 1 bedroom, 1 dressing room 1 bathroom and a screened front porch. Ideal for two people, can sleep three.Located directly across from Moriah Harbour Cay, which has been designated a Bahamian National Park. Moriah Harbour Cay has miles of the most beautiful, pristine (and almost always deserted) beaches in the world. Between the Cay and your cottage are some of thebest bonefishing flats in the Bahamas.
Next to Moriah Harbour Cay is Man O’ War Cay, which also has miles of beautiful, deserted beaches, with great shelling, snorkeling, and swimming. All of these activities are a short kayak ride away (your own two person sit-on-top kayak is included with your cottage rental). You can kayak through awesome mangrove channels, fish for yellow tail snapper, and bone fish or just relax and enjoy views that very few others can see and appreciate. At the end of the day, relax on your screened porch overlooking the ocean and Moriah Harbour Cay, or have a swim in our 35 foot solar heated fresh-water pool, and plan your next day’s activities.
Your onsite host, Valerie, has resided in Exuma since 1964. She can direct you to and assist you in: finding the best bone fish guide; getting a fishing license, finding the right restaurant and finding island entertainment that you will enjoy; renting a car or boat; exploring the island from Little Exuma to Barraterre; finding secluded beaches; going snorkeling, diving and deep-sea fishing; shopping for the essentials and gifts for the folks at home. She can advise you about all aspects of your vacation experience - travel to and from Exuma, what to bring, what to expect, and how to make the most of your visit to this special place.

This is a difficult review for me to write because the host is genuinely a very kind and a lovely person, which we truly appreciated throughout our stay. The property itself is in a fantastic location, directly in front of a private beach area with access to pristine water and kayaks available for use. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and it is definitely one of the strongest points of the stay. The screened porch is also a real highlight, you can comfortably enjoy being outside without dealing with bugs, which makes it a great space to relax. However, the unit itself feels quite dated and would benefit from some renovation. The kitchen is very old, and the bathroom is in particular need of repair and updating. The description and photos online do not fully reflect the current condition of these areas. I’ve also added some pictures of the kitchen and bathroom so future guests can make a more informed decision before booking. Overall, there is a lot of potential thanks to the amazing location and outdoor spaces, but the interior would need significant updating to match expectations and fully reflect the listing.

What a wonderful stay! We had everything we needed. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The bedrooms were comfortable. The pool was very enjoyable for the days we wanted to just relax and great in the evening as well. The property is beautiful. Valerie works very hard to maintain everything. The private beach is just a 2 minute walk down the road and that was beautiful too. True island life. Thank goodness for the washing machine also. Valerie, thank you so much for the incredible stay! We will definitely be back!!!

Very remote location as described. We loved the peacefulness and serenity of the surroundings. Enjoyed getting to know guests at some of the other cottages. Valerie was very helpful. No TV and limited Internet sometimes was an inconvenience but it allowed is more time to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings and the awesome beaches nearby. Relaxing by the pool was refreshing in the late afternoon after spending time at one of the nearby beaches. We will definitely be back in the future.

This property is a no brainer, Valarie our host was on site the entire time to help with any questions we had about the facilities and the area. The listing is as promised, waterfront kayaking available, heated pool and a very private quiet setting that takes you away from the hustle and bustle. The main town George Town is a short 20 minute drive for shopping and entertainment. If you are interested in fine dining, you can go to Blu on the Water which is only 6 minutes down the road. If you don't have access to a boat and want to do some fishing the property is only 3 minutes to a bridge where a lot of the locals catch their fish of the day. This experience is definitely recommended over a resort stay if you are willing to drive on the island and have piece and quite.

The property is great for people who want to be away from town. Access to the ocean is a short walk and has a very nice small private beach. Note that there are relatively limited options for restaurants nearby. We used the kitchen in our rental to prepare most of our own meals.

We stayed for 8 days in one of Valerie’s cottages and loved every minute of it. First off Valerie is amazing and has been on the island since the 60’s so just getting to meet her and hear her stories was worth the trip. The cottage is nothing fancy or boujie but it was clean and had everything we needed for a great vacation. The pool was great for cooling off after being in the salt water all day. The kayaks were great to paddle to the cut which is absolutely beautiful and a must do. Overall it was an excellent stay and our third time to Exuma and can’t wait to get back. The cottage is in a great location about 15min to Georgetown and about 10min to pretty molly and Forbes beach.

Loved our stay in our quaint cottage! Located about midway on Great and Little Exuma, so made a great base for our travels across the island, and we went point to point throughout the week. Dock and kayak was great fun (turtles!). And the pool was a great refresher after days on the beach.Host Miss Valerie was so sweet and helpful. Island had a short power outage on first night, and she went above and beyond to provide us with power from generator. She was very responsive and friendly to any question. Bridgit and Chica were friendly dogs. The island itself is spectacularly beautiful and water views are stunning! Some of the best beaches in Caribbean and often had them all to ourselves (in late May)!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful location. It was private and incredibly peaceful. We enjoyed kayaking almost every day, and we saw tons of wildlife. Valerie was by far the best host we have ever stayed with. We stayed for two weeks and we could have stayed for two more. If you are looking for privacy in paradise, this is your place.

Valerie is absolutely the best host!!! What an amazing place to stay! My wife and I stayed at one of her cottages for a week and couldn't have been happier we picked this place. The location was perfect: half way between George Town for shopping/eating and the best remote beaches on Little Exuma, and easy kayak access to the Lazy River. The cottage itself was quaint and simple yet had everything we needed. The screened porch was our daily morning coffee spot with a peaceful million dollar view overlooking Moriah Harbor Cay National Park. One of the property highlights was the solar-heated in-ground pool. After a day of salty beaching, the pool was very refreshing. But the #1 most memorable thing about staying here was Valerie. We planned to arrive on a Sunday evening and Valerie let us know that the stores would be closed. She offered to pickup groceries for us ahead of time. We had fresh fruits, some breakfast items, wine, and beer waiting for us at the cottage upon our arrival. Throughout the week, Valerie periodically checked on us to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. She lent us a few sundry items, gave us great advice on places to visit (she's been a local since the 60's), and engaged in pleasant conversations. Sure you could pay more for a swankier vacation rental but you wouldn't get this level of charm and hospitality. My wife and I both felt like we were visiting our favorite aunt in paradise and can't wait to come back again!!

The cottage was no frills but had everything we needed and was nestled in a quiet area surrounded by native vegetation and many types of birds. The screened in porch and pool was perfect for relaxing too. The pier is a few feet away with easy access for kayaking or watching the green sea turtles from there. Valerie is a top notch host and ensures that you have everything that you need. Thanks again Valerie - we had a great time!

A most wonderful and relaxing stay in Valerie’s cottage. The cottage was spotlessly clean and lacked for nothing. Quiet, safe, and well located location. We enjoyed the amenities and used the kayaks to get over to Moriah Harbour Cay and the unpopulated beaches. Valerie made sure we lacked for nothing and was a wealth of local information. Best of all, her dogs were our daily visitors. Thanks for everything, we hope to return someday!

My husband and I spent a week at this cottage. We agree that this was one of the most peaceful, restful vacations we have had, due in large part to the cottage and its owner, Valerie. It is outfitted with everything we need, but if we asked for anything Valerie very quickly took care of us. The cottage is small but very cosy, and we found the bed to be quite comfortable. We enjoyed our morning coffee in the beautiful screened in porch. We look forward to returning - hopefully next year. The pool is wonderful, and we enjoyed kayaking from the private beach. Thank you for everything, Valerie!
