Kitchen was fully equipped and easy to use for cooking lobsters and other seafood. The setting is gorgeous, perfect for quiet time and exploring nature.

This is such a beautiful, peaceful, and well-kept property with great swimming from the beach and kayaking to the nearby islands.

Not just a stay but an experience! The property is absolutely stunning and the cabin feels so homey and rustic, yet was perfectly equiped with everything we needed. Family history and love was evident in this place! Wonderful communication from the owner as well and it is in such a beautiful, peaceful location. We were sad to leave; this place started to feel like a home-away-from-home. Kitchen and bathrooms are full of every convenience! We would 100% stay here again!

We fell in love with Wawenock when we saw the photos as it’s so similar to our favorite ME vacation rental. The owner was a dream to work with. The Lodge could almost be a Museum, with all the family history contained within. Excitement over the number of books dwindled when we discovered that possibly more than half were in bad shape - the “early readers” had mold and mildew; covers and pages well worn.. Trying to maintain a house that large, with every space filled with odds and ends of furniture, plastic tubs of linens, first aid supplies, and miscellaneous, must not be easy. The tiny kitchen had all kinds of supplies - some seemed unnecessary for a rental place; the plethora of flatware revealed some items that needed washing. One of the burners on the range broke the day before we moved in. The owner somehow managed to track down a range that would fit in the space, and electricians who installed it.the afternoon of our arrival - perfect timing. The supply of towels was more than sufficient. Having said all that, the beds were all beautifully made up (and very comfy). The lighting was excellent and the electrical outlets were updat The fireplace worked beautifully. As others have written, the back (although we think of it as front) porch where we lived when not on the beach. We each had a space picked out where we ‘lived’, etc. The location is all about the 3 “Ls” - a lovely part of Blue Hill Bay. It was incredibly quiet,/not only bird’s, .updated.

We loved our sojourn at Wawenock lodge and only wish we could have stayed for two weeks. The rocks and beach are as promised, the house is full of things to discover, the area is interesting. Craig is a very responsive host. I am already trying to figure a way to go again!

This is such a special place with easy access to the water for kayaking and exploring. Great walking trail to Harriman Point nearby. We had a fire in the fireplace one rainy/chilly night and it was so comfortable inside. Beds are comfortable, too. We will definitely be visiting again.

Wawenock suits our family just perfectly. Excellent kayaking, beach-combing, exploring on the islands and in the water at low tide, fireplace fires at night, lots of reading spots… Craig is a very attentive host whose love for the place shines through!

The cabin is exactly as the pictures show. Our week was damp and foggy, so it was damp and cool inside - as there is no insulation inside the cabin.
