Relax with the whole family at this peaceful cottage nestled in the heart of the blue ridge mountains. Short distance to Wintergreen Ski Resort, Shenandoah National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, Skyline Drive, and the Appalachian Trail. The cottage is conveniently located in the middle of Rt 151 aka Alcohol Alley. Less than a 5 minute drive to Bold Rock Cider, Devils Backbone Brewing, Three Notch’d Brewing, and Blue Toad Cider as well as numerous other local eateries and breweries.

The space
As you pull into the driveway you are welcomed by a stunning front porch where you can soak in the great views. After entering the cottage you will find a laundry room and full bathroom stocked with everything you may need. Across the hall is where the master bedroom is located. Continue down the hallway where the room opens up to the full kitchen. Off of the kitchen the open concept dining room and living room will make you feel right at home. Upstairs in the loft area you will find a queen bed, twin bed, half bath, makeup vanity, and a sitting area to relax in. Finish off your evening with a campfire, making s’mores, staring up at the stars, and taking in the serenity of the mountains.

Guest access
Self Check in and you will have access to the entire property.

Other things to note
The driveway is paved but is rough and steep in some areas. Would recommend a vehicle that sits a little higher or even an AWD vehicle in the winter.

The host was extremely nice and kept in touch. The cabin itself was just adorable and had everything we needed to have a great stay. I would definitely like to come back here again and I’ve also recommended it to friends and family.

While I didn’t stay for skiing, I stayed here for proximity to notable hiking trails which were very close to the property, which was also near to Wintergreen. The location was perfect for privacy, with plenty of amenities to stay on site and enjoy ourselves when you return from the hills. This was a clean, cozy space which had a lot of charm. We would gladly re-book the place were we to return to the area.

Great location! Close to breweries, wineries, and of course Wintergreen. Cabin was very clean and nicely furnished. Views from the front porch were lovely. Felt very secluded. We would definitely stay there again. Host was very communicative.

The host was a great at communicating confirmation of our booking right away and timely follow-up with property access and check-in details. My family of 5 had plenty of room with 2 children sharing the queen bed and 1 in the twin bed in the 2nd floor loft bedroom. A beautiful view form the front porch for morning people who want to sit in a comfy chair with a book and hot drink. The kitchen worked great for making all the meals in house. Lots of pots, pans, and even a crock pot. All the basics are there.Very nice sofa and recliner in the living room. For those wanted privacy this is a great place as the road is not frequetly traveled and most of the property is shielded from view by the woods and inclined driveway. Take the host warning about the driveway seriously, it is steep and has potholes that are hard on low riding cars or vans.My family enjoyed a camp fire at the fire ring every night. Nicely hardscaped with chairs and plenty of split logs and kindling readily available to scavange in the woods all around.Overall a very nice stay for a family of 5 or less.

Nice property and very private. The host provided all of the necessities (bedding, towels, and most toiletries) and some snacks. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the mornings and watching the local wildlife. I was a very relaxing and peaceful trip.

This was our second stay at Spruce Creek and we had a wonderful weekend! The great aspect of Spruce Creek is that it's remote, and also close to a lot of cool places. We recently discovered the Merlin bird call app and were amazed at the wide variety of birds we were hearing! [Cooks Note, I cooked every breakfast and supper there, bring any spice you might need, and bring a vegetable peeler].

Our stay here was wonderful! The house is just as listed and the beds are so comfortable. We really enjoyed having coffee on the porch every morning listening to the birds and the creek, and we had a few fires in the pit at night. Location is amazing, so close to great hikes and wineries/breweries. Daniel was super responsive and helpful. I highly recommend the stay here!

My fiancé and I stayed here for a weekend to go visit the brewery’s nearby and this place is amazing. Very close to everything yet it’s private. Home was decorated beautifully and looks to be recently remodeled. Had everything we needed and more. The host responded quickly to any questions we had and made the check in/out process smoothly. We will definitely be back!!

This was a great place to stay and enjoy Nelson County! Very clean and well equipped! Only caution is that the stovetop cooks super hot, so keep it much lower than you think you need to. Daniel was very responsive and the rental process smooth!

We really enjoyed our stay at Spruce Creek! The house was probably the cleanest of any VRBO we've stayed in. The house is well located outside Nellysford, and a quick drive to Bold Rock Cidery, Devil's Backbone Brewery and lots of other Nelson county attractions. The kitchen was well stocked [Cook's note - I cooked every breakfast and dinner there, the right front burner on the stove runs HOT, be careful with it. The non-stick skillets are a bit warped, so they don't sit flat on the cooktop. Both of these things I have brought up with the owner], bring any sauces or spices you might need. The beds and furniture are all comfortable and in good shape. The owner was very accessible through the app, he responded in minutes when we contacted him. We would definitely stay here again, it's a well maintained and lovely place to stay!

We had a great stay. The house was cozy and secluded, but still extremely convenient to hiking, shops, wineries, breweries, cideries, and distilleries. We loved sitting outside by the fire pit.
