This enchanting studio cottage nestles in the garden of the owner's house in half an acre of land at the bottom of Monk’s Hill.

It is 5m x 8m (16ft x 27ft) including a deck leading in to the garden of fruit trees, palms and flowers enjoyed by many birds.

3 mins walk from local grocery store & buses
7 mins walk from small hotel beach & 2 Restaurants
5 mins drive from more beaches & marina & bars, cafes & restaurants

The cottage is designed to be open to the breeze throughout the day & night. Tradewinds blow though the windows (installed with white painted burglar bars, no glass or screens). The bathroom is tiled with Travertine tiles and has a waterfall tap into an Egyptian marble sink.

The beautiful hand-made kitchen has a varnished solid Cedar counter & teak stools, perfect for breakfast or chatting to the cook whilst sipping your glass of wine.

The galley-style kitchen has everything you need to prepare a light lunch or a delicious supper for candle-lit dining on the deck. Best for cooking the fresh fish you may have bought from the local fisherman on the docks is the small BBQ by the deck in the garden.

The wardrobe has ample storage for your clothes, spare linens & beach towels as well as your suitcases.

There is no television. Nature’s entertainment in such a secluded and enchanting setting usually means you don’t miss it. There are plenty of books of every kind available. There is good free Fiber-optic WiFi.

The owner lives in the nearby villa Casa Lucia (from October through to June), during which she will be delighted to welcome you and help with anything else during your stay. Unless you have questions or need something, she will leave you alone for the rest of your stay.

Neptune’s Jewel is a few minutes’ walk down a tree-lined lane from the Harbour’s most-loved local shop. Wednesday sees the boat from Dominica arrive filling the shop with exotic produce from nearby Nature-Island Dominica. You can expect to buy fresh herbs, a local (& some imported) fruit & vegetables. All the staples you will need to fill your kitchen. There is also an abundant Farmer’s Market 15 mins drive away and a large modern Supermarket 25 mins drive away for more sophisticated imports. Passion fruit, bananas, mangoes, rocket & herbs grow in the garden (in season).

Catamaran Hotel Beach is 5 mins walk away and Pigeon & Windward Beaches are 5 mins drive (or short bus ride & walk away) and boasts two beach bars. Bumpkins, an informal , locally-run wooden, shady bar serving fish, salad and burgers (and the best Lime Daiquiri’s & Pina Coladas on the island) and Catherine’s Café at the other end with an excellent French chef, a high-end menu and exotic cocktails. Both have live music at weekends. The water is clean and clear and safe.

There are 3 more good restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance and many more 5 mins drive away.

A short stroll down the lane takes you to the main road where you can pick up a bus to town or to Nelson’s Dockyard. They are frequent & inepensive (if a little wild !) There are many car rental companies nearby, the owner can arrange or recommend car rental for you if you require. You can park in or outside the property 50 yards from the Cottage entrance. Taxis are reliable and have fixed prices and one of the best lives down the lane.

Pick up one of the many Airport taxis. Cost is about US 50.

Nearby Activities include a Dive School (with a highly recommended Dive Instructor), Fishing Trips, Sailing, squash & tennis, yoga, pilates & gym. Within half an hour there is kite-surfing school, zip-line canopy tours, cultural tours, donkey sanctuary, swimming with rays, golf, museums & eco tours.

There are some fabulous walks in the area. Including a popular one right outside the door to the top of Monk's Hill where there is an old ruined fort and some of the most spectacular views on the island: Organised walks are another option by the Environmental Awareness Group, the 5 am Hiking Club or a wonderful Rasta taking you through the Rain Forest.

Other attractions are Cricket, Steel drums & Reggae, Local bands, Antigua Sailing Week, and the Antigua Classic Regatta.

There are 2 resident cats Johnny Rotten & Little Tiger who will likely leave you alone but friendly if you wish to say hello.

Gorgeous cottage, situated in a very nice location within nature and close to English Harbor. Our host Lucy was very friendly, communicative and helpful throughout our stay. The place and the host made us feel part of the local community and it’s a great choice for people who want a more authentic island experience and to get away from a generic resort vibe.

A lovely traditional style dwelling in a good convenient location. Lucy is a welcoming and most helpful host . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The small beach within an easy walk at the Catamaran Hotel has public access and is worth a visit before venturing further . A hire car is recommended but vehicle condition may be an issue. On the approach from the main road the first section of track which is unmade was in very poor repair although some pot hole filling was in progress.

We had a wonderful 8 days at Neptune's Jewel, a perfect garden retreat to return to after adventuring across the island each day. It's well located within walking distance to a grocery store, so it's very convenient for essentials, but also close to English Harbour, major beaches, and to many off the beaten path sights. We found the location very convenient overall. The house is clean and in good condition, and unlike many other options on the island it is set in a beautiful garden and not an empty grass lot. Do you not come to such a destination to enjoy some of the beautiful plants and wildlife? Not a single day went by on the porch without a hummingbird visiting us. Not one! In summary, beautiful. The house is well equipped with a mini fridge, mosquito killing device, floor fan, and everything we needed for our stay, and the host, Lucy, is helpful and accessible, but also knows how to give you peace and privacy. If I had to complain about anything it would be about sleeping under the mosquito net. You have to be careful about not letting any of those greedy blood suckers in and it's kind of cramped once inside! But I can't deduct any points for that because it was clearly stated in the property description. I suspect it's better this way cause having nets on all the windows would kill all the airflow in the house, and that same airflow kept it nice and pleasant at all times of the day. Bonus points to the host for some unexpected surprises when compared to other places we've stayed at: The dinnerware, glassware and cutlery were all of high quality, no plastic crap here - even had delicate bowls from Japan! Moreover you have a nice shaded spot to park your car - a nice little plus to avoid getting into an oven whenever you set out for the day :). Lastly the house itself is very well designed and feels spacious and airy - I really can't recall a place that came together as well as this one. All in all, an authentic Caribbean experience, where you get to experience actually being in the Caribbean and not a sterile boring hotel. Hear the crickets sing at night, be visited by hummingbirds, be suspicious of the red throated sparrows eyeing your bread and making runs to steal crumbs - LOL. It was a wonderful place and we are very happy we chose to stay here!

Adorable cozy cottage situated in a beautiful garden scape that is in close proximity to English and Falmouth Harbors and Galleon Beach. Lucy, the host had everything we could need available to us, with a book of instructions and local recommendations which we found very helpful. The place was very clean and exactl Lu as described. We found the mosquito netting over the bed to be very helpful, as we kept the windows and doors open most of the time for a fantastic breeze. We did encounter the sugar ants as previously mentioned but they didn’t bite and we didn’t find them bothersome. We would highly recommend Neptune’s Jewel and will most certainly be back! Thanks so much Lucy for a wonderful slice of heaven

Nicely designed and decorated cottage located on breezy hillside just above Falmouth Harbour. Lucy is a great host and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. If you are into hiking, one of the best trails overlooking English and Falmouth Harbour literally starts outside the back gate.
