Moonwaters Holiday Cottage

Quiet retreat amongst the trees with plenty of birdlife and very friendly, tame parrots and magpies. The property had everything we needed and in the evenings was good to be able to get Netflix, given TV reception was otherwise poor. There were lots of easy walks not far away and was just great that it was pet friendly and the walking trails permitted dogs so they could come along too. Greens Pool snorkel was a highlight and an easy drive away.

G’day this is a mixed review. Likes: birds & feeding them, inlet, view, spacious, quiet Dislikes: dining fan didn’t work (hot day when we arrived), no firewood (cold for 3 nights), no curtains to retain heat anyway, noisy fridge (buzzing all night). Otherwise as expected.

Great pet friendly holiday home

Great house. Lighting needs to be ungraded. A little dark for board games in winter.

This was our second time at the Moonwaters cottage and everything was great.

We paid for 4 guests (only 2 came due to illness) only 2 towels. One bed had what looked like dried blood on the bedding. In visitors book it was commented that windows were filthy they still are. Whole place for what we were charged could do with a make over.Location and birds wonderful.

We found the rooms very clean. The host was informative before our visit and let us know that he would be in Perth and to expect some delay in responding to queries. From a pet point of view, the whole place is quite good. We made a lot of use of the kitchen and were able to prepare our meals easily with the facilities provided.

Beautiful property. Loved our stay again. We will be back.

There were positives and negatives to our stay.Negatives: Finding one of the beds still stripped and not made, and no sheets anywhere in the house. Had to use a doona as bottom and top sheet! The bathroom tap needs replacing-hard to use. Windows are hard to open/close. Lots of junk and stuff around the inside especially in the laundry area.Basic stuff missing in the kitchen; cooking oil, salt, dish washing cloths, etc. We had to go to the store and buy these and other things, and took them with us when we went (left a cloth there for the next guest).The place is dirty. It needs a good clean, get rid of cobwebs, dust bunnies and dirt. There was a note from a previous guest on the kitchen table advising of a light not working. Obviously not seen, read or removed for cleaning as the light still didn't work until I fixed it.Outside needs a big trash clear out. So much junk, old tables and chairs and general stuff around. Clean the outside lights - they don't look like they have been for literally years!The driveway needs attention - our 4wd struggled a little so a regular front wheel drive may not like it.Positives. The location is so quiet and peaceful. The native birds visiting morning and night was delightful as was having someone leave bird seed to feed them with. Having the netflix logged in was nice. The trail to the water, although very hard to find, proved to be a nice walk.

Had such an amazing time at Moonwaters, so peaceful and quiet and what a view through the trees to the inlet. Loved feeding the birds, would come back in a heartbeat

We never met the host though all communication was okay . The residence did not reflect the online pictures , especially the outside area. It was very dusty and cobwebbed inside. There was a pair of socks behind the TV unit , from a previous guest? Cutlery wasn’t clean or the oven . Damp in the bathroom , the extractor fan in bathroom was very dirty . It’s a shame because the photos did not display the house like this , and we were looking forward to our stay . Disappointed .

This was the second time we stayed at Moonwaters and we love it. We particularly love the view over the forest from the porch and the Little River walk trail right below the cottage that goes along the inlet shoreline.

We enjoyed our stay but felt the furnishings were outdated and the bedding certainly could be improved.The bathroom was a big disappointment and needs to be modernised. Mould on the ceiling not a good look. The instruction booklet was not very welcoming and needs to be updated with clearer information, particularly regarding the tv operation. With a little more attention to detail, this could be a better accommodation option.

Moonwaters cottage is one of our favourite places to stay. Peaceful, quiet, beautiful surroundings. Perfect place to unwind, all the amenities you could need.

Yes the amenities were good the area was outstanding especially the birds we had a very enjoyable stay

The property was dark & dinjy. There was inadequate lighting. One of the bedside lamps didn't work. There were no teatowels & only 3 coffee mugs for 4 people. The outside area was strewn with leaves & debris. The cottage did not live up to the photographs or description. Was very disappointed. Would not recommend Moonwater.

We really enjoyed our time at Moonwaters,but no luck lighting a fire until we tried EKOLOGS.Power failure one night,but thanks to the torch supplied we were able to rectify the situation quickly at the power box.terrific to have everything on hand.Thank you.Driveway is a challenge, but the amazing setting and bird life makes up for it.

The house and surrounds were as described. We enjoyed having the many beautiful birds on the verandah each day. The bath/shower was a bit difficult for us to navigate as both of us have bad backs and are eell into our 70s.

The view is amazing and so is all the bird life. The property is quite central to everything which made sightseeing really easy

Lovely location, easy walk down to the inlet and access to town, water, and bush. We had a couple issues with bedding but Christoph was easy to get in touch with and responsive. Love the birds.

Great, second time we have stayed

Very cosy and relaxing, lovely fireplace and facilities to use. Lots of up to date tv/streaming capabilities if you use these. The bedrooms are lovely, although the mattress is quite firm and the frame squeaks when you move at night.Will definitely be back to relax again.

House and location was perfect, beautiful view from the balcony, amenities were great. added bonus of bird seed to feed the birds. Location was amazing easy access to the river walk trail, and short drive to town and all attractions. We had a wonderful time thank you. suggestion perhaps a Nespresso machine for people to BYO coffee and use. Thanks again

We had a wonderful stay, everything worked well and the owner responded quickly and organised repairs immediately. The birds are just beautiful and we enjoyed feeding them in the mornings.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Easter stay at Moonwaters.The property had everything we needed and was in tranquil setting. Close proximity to town, wineries and the pub made a great place to unwind for a few days.

Property adaquate and comfortable, another enjoyable stay.

The property was clean and was well equipped with many extra supplies. It’s a got an amazing tree view with lots of birds visiting. A little dark and dated.

We stayed at Moonwaters last September and enjoyed the cottage and its peaceful location so much we booked a second trip. Our latest visit was just as good. We stayed longer this time and loved every moment. Moonwaters is wonderfully located overlooking the estuary but still close to Denmark town centre. It is well provisioned with everything you could need, and Denmark has so much to offer. Highly recommend!

Great stay in the forest

Lovely

It was just what we were expecting.Peace and relaxation in a lovely setting. Very close to Town, Ocean beach and an easy short drive to Greenspool, local wineries and Walpole.Really enjoyed our stay.Thankyou

Beautiful place to stay

The house was as it was described with a lovely outlook and good amenities.

Area was amazing and views were delightful. Property grounds not secure for pets to go outside without being on lead. Property cleanish, cleaned without moving any furniture so lots of dust inside and webs on outside furniture. Peaceful and a great place to go for walks.

We had an amazing few days surrounded by gorgeous trees and birdlife. The magpies were so friendly that they ate out of our hands. The woodfire made cold evenings very cosy, and the piano was lots of fun, especially since we have no musical ability at all. We wish we could have stayed longer, and wouldn’t hesitate to book this cottage again.

This was an excellent cottage to stay in with all the things we needed for a four day stay. It is near the water, near the Bibbulmun track, and a short drive to the Denmark shops. Highly recommended.

Second stay for us with our little dog, love it so much. Affordable, comfortable, surrounded by nature, bird life, proprietor most accommodating. Suits us perfectly - we will be back.

Fantastic view of the forrest and inlet, friendly birds to feed, new kitchen with great amenities and a beautiful pot belly with wood supplied. The cottage matched the online listing perfectly. We had a fantastic time there and would recommend it to everyone

Tranquil location surrounded by forest with views to the inlet, you can’t ask for much more than that. At the same time only 5 minutes from town. Great place to stay and our second time in this property now. Will be back for a thord

The View was the best part of our stay.

Moonwaters is in a beautiful setting near the inlet but also conveniently located for visiting the town. The cottage is well provisioned with all the basics you may need, the beds are comfortable and the shower has great water pressure! If the weather is not so great there’s comfortable couches and a big TV but we spent most of our time sitting on the deck relaxing and watching the birds come and go. So peaceful. That we booked to return in 6 months time before we left, should reflect how much we loved being at Moonwaters.

This is an excellent property in lovely Denmark and pribably in the town's best location. Karri forest and birds regularly visiting the balcony are the highlights of our stay.

Lovely cottage with everything you need for a relaxing break. We enjoyed exploring the area and the walking track down to the inlet. Ample supply of firewood which we really appreciated.

A Beautiful property with Amazing Bird life right in the middle of the Karri Forest.. walking tracks and a short drive too town With views of the Bay this was a perfect place to get away too... u will not be disappointed
