First, the porch is amazing. We spent most of our time out there, eating at the table, playing with the grandkids, reading at night and enjoying each others company on the rockers and couch. The kitchen was very well-equipped and stocked, beds were comfortable and the layout of the house was conducive to our large group of varied ages. The driveway
This house was perfect for our annual 4th of July reunion. We spent a lot of our time sitting in big circles on the porch, laughing and talking. The kitchen/den area was comfortable, and the large eating table held the whole crew of 12. The beds were comfortable, and everyone slept well which helps a vacation. It was a perfect wee.
The house is beautiful. We loved the layout for our group. Plenty of space for everyone. The screen porch is perfect!
Perfect home for multigenerational family vacation. The large screened in porch was our favorite gathering place! Look forward to coming again! Danny Sharpe was wonderful to work with.
we throughly enjoy our stay,. the house was exactly as described and the kitchen had every item you would need for cooking, baking, and storage. We spent every night on the porch and had all meals family style at the exceptionally large table. There were a few questions in the beginning of our stay and the owner responded timely. If space, ease of use and relaxation are what you are looking for this is the property for you.
It’s a great space and super cozy. If you are looking to be able to freely walk to Montreat, it’s not bad there. Walking back is difficult due to being on the mountain. Our kids would still walk it, though. I would recommend staying there.
This house was just perfect for our family group that changed over the week.. The kitchen was particularly well designed and had us all dreaming of remodels. The porch was a Mecca for all and the baby was so happy with the rocking chairs. The only challenge was the driveway but that’s pretty standard for Montreal. It,’s super steep and we were glad for 4 wheel drive. At night the driveway is very dark and a couple of us had mishaps with the Boulder and the sign posts. We would love to come next year.
We stayed here for Montreat Youth Conference, the house is gorgeous and comfortable, Danny was a wonderful host and the neighbors were so sweet!
This home is gracious, spacious and roomy. My family stayed for a week and enjoyed a wonderful vacation together. There are 16 of us, 5 couples and children ranging from 10 months to 18 years, and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax. There is LOTS of comfortable seating and the open floor plan of the kitchen/living room/porch allowed us to spread out but still be together. The porch was the runaway favorite room for most of our group, and we all gathered there to play games and visit every evening after dinner until after midnight. During the day, we wandered out to the porch to sip our coffee, or enjoy the fresh air that stayed mild even on hot days. The fairy lights in the trees surrounding the porch made the spot feel magical after dark. Our daughters-in-law loved the den/study, and one of them could usually be found reading in a recliner after the little ones were in bed. The property owners have collected some original art that I enjoyed tremendously, and they made the house feel much warmer and more personal than the average rental. And when the description says the kitchen has all the cookware and tools you could want, they are not kidding! We only dined out one night; otherwise we took turns preparing meals and no matter what we needed, it was there. We visited the Biltmore Estate, Lake Lure and Chimney Rock, and went rafting on the French Broad river during our stay. Honestly, we had intended to do a few other things, but we were enjoying the peaceful charm of the house so much that we ended up relaxing there instead of running all over the place. At the end of our stay, we all felt we had a perfect vacation!
This home made our stay at Montreat absolutely wonderful. The owner was very communicative and easy to deal with. House is brand new, kitchen is stocked with any appliance or tool or dish you would need, porch is very comfortable, location is perfect—up in the mountains and walking distance to Lake Susan, neighbors are great, beds are very comfortable, attic fan cools the house almost immediately, extremely clean/spotless, fireplace works great, backyard has very relaxing lighting, everything in the house works, house smells great (no mildew/old house smell), very spacious and luxurious. Highest recommendation—if you’re staying in Montreat, this is the best house. Thank you Danny for making our extended family vacation perfect!
