Stayed Aug 7, 2025A perfect place to stay! This cottage is full of character and charm, yet offers every modern comfort you could wish for. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen and bathrooms are thoughtfully stocked with all the essentials, and the back porch might just be the best place to relax in all of Montreat. We absolutely love Idlewood and highly recommend it.

Stayed Nov 26, 2024This is a charming, well loved home that easily accommodated the 11 of us. This is one of the best appointed kitchens to meet the needs of almost anyone who spends time in the kitchen. These owners are generous in their supply of paper products and kitchen needs. Very impressive. Almost everything has been thought of by these owners. The comfortable living room and large dining table was a hit with all and the general neighborhood is very special. Wonderful playground and cafe and a couple of shops in walking distance and nice hikes nearby in Montreat. Named correctly...a cozy and fun place!!

Stayed Jul 27, 2024Another fantastic week! Enjoyed the house once again and everyone had a great time. The Catawba Trail is back open and was an awesome hike. Like always we so enjoy the back porch. Such a cozy and comfortable house.

Stayed Aug 11, 2023We adored our time at this wonderful Montreat home. The screened back porch was a dream, and we enjoyed the beginning and end of each day there. The location allowed us to walk to Lake Susan and all our activities. We highly recommend this cozy montreat cabin!

Stayed May 24, 2024It was a great place for 3 generations to be together for the Memorial Day long weekend! The layout of the house including a great Montreat porch and a backyard fire pit for somemores went to making a lot of memories with grandchildren! As one of the 4year old olds exclaimed, “it was cozy!”

Stayed Jul 30, 2023This is a fantastic house. It is super cozy and comfortable. The porch is so relaxing and our family spends hours out there. This is our third year and the host always has everything we need when we arrive. Can’t wait to be there again.
