Great family vacation spot. Right at the water. Everyone had a great time
This was our first time in Michigan. The lake is amazing!!! Very appreciative of the toiletries and the grocery store that does pick up online ordering. Can’t wait to come back.
Our stay at this house went very well! House was clean and easy to check in to. Kitchen is well equipped. The boathouse is a nice feature that was good to store golf clubs and bikes, plus be able to have the kayaks and fridge right there. We brought a boat and it would be nice to have a dock as the neighbors do not allow any use of their docks. There was an anchor to keep the boat out in the water at least. The street is a very quiet dirt road, so no worries with the kids having to cross the road to the beach.
The home is recently updated by owner (well done sir), clean, modern with good showers, plumbing and appliances. We were surprised to find central air conditioning that was usually not needed. Excellent internet service (I had to work remotely quite a bit and Netflix worked too). Sits on a private, dead-end drive that is quiet. Surrounding properties are close together, owned by families over several generations though we still felt welcomed, comfortable and with sufficient privacy. Boat house great to store our 2 kayaks and we also used one of the 2 supplied kayaks. Ample supply of nice life vests available. Fire pit right on the water awesome! Very beautiful lake. Most stunning sunrises over the water directly across the lake! Only issue is that the mooring ball is not heavy duty and lacks any clip/ring for easy attachment. Multiple people told us we had the nicest, calmest weather of the summer so our boat remained secure though knowing how rough water can get on the lake under less desirable conditions, I would be reluctant to moor my boat there. BTW there is a sand bar right out from the property appearing to be the most desirable spot on the lake to anchor and enjoy the warm water in this cove. Far enough out it did not impact our privacy. Beach is sandy, with ridge of rocks a few feet out and then more sand. Granddaughter loved playing and swimming on the beach. Now that the house is upgraded the owner may want to consider putting in a dock for parking boats given the high-end price for my budget.
I thought the pictures online didn't even come close to doing this house justice. I was worried that the house was too far away from the lake but in all reality, it was maybe 200 feet. Not every location on the lake has a beach so we were really lucky that there was a good section of sand in front of the house. The house was really clean and updated. I can't think of anything we were missing or that I would have changed. We had our 1 year old and another family with a 1 year old and we had more than enough room. I was bummed that we couldn't take advantage of the kayaks available to us but we ran out of time! We would definitely consider coming back to this house next year!
