What a gem of a property! We needed a place to stay while visiting family in the area for the holiday. This little farm house is precious and so beautifully renovated. We will definitely be renting again when we come back to visit family.
We had a fantastic visit with our family . The Reunion was a great get away! It was great seeing and visiting with everyone and going over many childhood memories! Ginger was a fantastic hostess, making sure our check in and out went flawlessly! The home has a beautiful history and that history was shared in a book that was left for visitors to read. The book gives places to see, go, and do. The diamond mine is only a 15-20 min drive. There are 3 lakes in the area. Old Washington has a nice restaurant you can enjoy. Hot Springs is only a 30 to 45 min drive. The home offers such a beautiful and tranquil setting. One can watch cows grazing in the meadow across the road or get up early enough to catch deer grazing In the front yard! Lots of thought went into the building of a crescent shaped Gazebo with an open fire pit, swings, and Adirondack chairs. A very nice large grill is available for those wanting to grill! Walmart is very close for quick trips into town. In fact, the local hospital is less than a mile away should you be in need of their services. Much detail and love went into the renovation of this beautiful family cottage. Part of The original building built in 1862 still remains. You won’t regret getting to sample all this lovely home has to offer. My family is looking forward to staying here for the next family Reunion. I am puzzled by the comments made by the previous VRBO gentleman. Ginger was absolutely wonderful and attentive to all our needs!
I did not stay there and decided to drive back and forth - 2 hours and 15 minutes each way - for each day I was in Nashville. The reason is I did that is because I called the property owner around 5 pm as I was leaving to drive to the cottage to determine the check in procedures. We spoke and everything seemed fine until she told me that a window was broken out and was covered by cardboard and she was not sure which day it would be repaired. Obviously, if I had not called her, she would not have told me about it and I would only have discovered it when I arrived late at night with no alternative lodging in the vicinity. She told me the next day around 8:30 that it may or may not be fixed that day or the next and I told her I decided to drive down and each day to work instead of staying there since the property was not secure and asked for a refund. She has refused to refund me my entire payment because she sent me a text the afternoon of the next day - that I saw late the next evening - saying that it had been repaired that afternoon and was safe to stay in now. So she has refunded me 1/3 of my payment. SHE SHOULD HAVE NEVER OFFERED IT FOR RESERVATION KNOWING A WINDOW WAS BROKEN AND COVERED BY CARDBOARD. Anyone who reserves a property on VRBO should be confident that the property is free of damage & secure, or if there is any damage, it should be disclosed when making the reservation. This property manager has not behaved in a professional/ethical manner. Renter Beware!
