Stayed Jun 11, 2021Beautiful Location - Stunning Views We have just enjoyed a short break in this absolutely charming cottage which is in a fabulous location with lovely walks on the doorstep. Mark the owner is very approachable and sorted out a minor issue for us very quickly. I would definitely stay here again & be happy to recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing break in beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

Stayed Dec 20, 2025Back from a lovely, relaxing Christmas escape. Property was comfortable and served us very well. The nearby honesty shop was charming and the walks were spectacular.Landlord kindly popped out after the first night to take a look at the bed, table lamp and outside light.A few elements were a little tired and in need of attention... Fridge shelves missing, freezer drawers cracked, dishwasher button stuck on (could still use), toaster lift lever broken. Nothing that stopped us from making full use of the property but little irritations... But the price was extremely reasonable so that's a trade off.

Stayed Sep 4, 2025Hadn't realised no onsite parking and had to move the car away from the house so was a bit of a pain with the other vehicles who parked to go walking , lovely little cottage a bit tired in areas but was a perfect getaway spot for some much needed r and r ,there was wifi so we we're able to use our own apps on our telephones to use the tv . The area is absolutely beautiful and the Chapel tearooms over the road was the most amazing afternoon tea I've ever tasted and highly reccomend they so like to have 48hours notice to do but you will not be disappointed.

Stayed Aug 14, 2025Fell in love with this property, feels like home. It has everything one needs. We loved the window shutters, comfortable sofas, great kitchen. Only thing missing is a double bed.Hollingclough is simply stunning, we hope to return next year.Ideal for local walks and the nearby villages have some adorable pubs ready to quench ones thirst after a long days hike.We recommend climbing the dragons back.

Stayed Aug 12, 2024We frequently stay in holiday properties and so know what you can get for £140 / night and sadly this was not up to the standards we would expect. The cottage is lovely, in a lovely sertting but it is very damp with mould around the windows and mildew on the curtains. It was not clean, the tiles in the bathroom were mouldy, under the furniture were dead woodlouse and other remnants of insects, cobwebs everywhere and the lavatory off the main bedroom was very poorly cleaned. The beds were very comfortable but the bedding felt damp. There are no instructions on how to heat the water. The house does have heating but this is controlled remotely by the host which isn't a viable option if you get in late or the weather is variable. The garden is overgrown and the lawn unkempt. The house is a good base for walking in the area, but not somewhere you would wish to spend time in. We ate out every evening and spent time playing cards and games at the local Buxton Brewery taproom just to avoid going back to the house. It just needs a lick of paint, constant low level heating for the damp and a proper clean and it would have been ideal.
