Spirit Lake, Idaho
Enjoy a lake-front view with full access to the dock in season. Including peddle boat, kayak, canoe, row boat, and an assortment of floats. You can bring your own boat and dock it here also. Guesthouse is located behind main house, where owners live. Driveway is shared. Sunsets on the water, with an outdoor fire going. Watch otters play on the beach, or ospreys and bald eagles diving for fish. A 5 minute paddle across the lake from Sedlemayers, the only lakefront restaurant in town. It's a 10-minute walk (or 3-minute drive) into the town of Spirit Lake, for shopping, restaurants and more. Centrally located to Mt Schweitzer, Lakes Pend Oreille and Farragut State Park, Coeur D’Alene and the Silverwood theme park.
Great surroundings
We only had the opportunity to stay 2 nights and this well designed studio. We wish we had more time to stay and enjoy the lake, fire pit and other amenities. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. I would mention that the bathroom is technically a “wet room” which means the shower, toilet, sink are an all-in-one, so plan on getting ready (if you need to do hair/makeup) in the bedroom area. Overall we were very impressed and hope to make it back someday.
Beautiful spot with very friendly hosts. Was the perfect intimate getaway for my wife and myself. Spent time in the boat on the lake and lakeside with a fire to close out the evening. Great spot. Great hosts.
It should be known that the homeowner lives 20 ft away from your non air conditioned studio. The main problem is that you have no privacy as the house is so close to the rental. You are essentially staying in a strangers driveway. We were so uncomfortable we left a day early. The parking situation is not suitable for large vehicles mostly due to all the visiting vehicles parked there. Not to mention if you are more than the average sized person, you will not be seated forward on the toilet!
I booked a quick overnight for my daughter who was traveling back to college in Montana from Seattle. She and her roommate went to Silverwood the day of, so arrived to home pretty late. They said they were bummed they were only there mostly to sleep. They said the house was clean and adorable and they loved sitting on the dock in the morning and having their coffee. Will be a regular layover for our family if available.
I wish we had one more day at this place. The hosts are incredible. They are personable and enjoyable to visit with. The place itself is small but you don’t need much when you are going to sit by the lake, swim and just relax. It was perfect for us. The wet room (shower and toilet) all in the same space was first for us but it was awesome. Definitely give this place 5 out of 5 stars.
What a cool spot for a lake vacation! My 12yo daughter and I stayed at Heidi and Don's amazing little guest house while in Idaho to take in Silverwood Theme Park in July. They were so hospitable, quick to communicate and overall, lovely people (we got to chat in person with them!) who made the experience easy from start to finish! It's only a few steps from the lake, which is beautiful with the mountains. It's clean, clear and not too cold! We loved diving off the dock and swimming in it and went for a sunset kayak. Gorgeous! The guest house was set up so well and had a great vibe. It's small, as advertised but plenty of room for 2 people who were off adventuring most of the time. They had games and such available as well as fun stuff for enjoying the water. The area was quiet and peaceful. There were all the amenities around you'd need (grocery store, a great Mexican restaurant, gas station, etc) and it was a quick 20 min drive to Silverwood. We have only great things to say!
My wife and I really enjoyed our time at this beautiful lakefront property. Don and Heidi are kind, generous hosts. We appreciated the many and various amenities included with this affordable listing. While dining at Sedlmayer's restaurant, a nice lady told me that visiting Spirit Lake is a real treat. I couldn't agree more.
It is a beautiful little tiny house. I love the way it was designed. The bed isn’t the most comfortable but for a few nights it will do!!!! They were very helpful and kind
It was such a wonderful experience, the lake was beautiful and we really enjoyed use of the boats and fire pit! Very comfortable and cozy cabin and the bathroom is wonderful ? So quiet we slept on way later than we normally would have, and when we woke the coffee on the lake was a great way to start the day!
Cottage was great, clean, comfortable and inviting. Perfect for 1 or 2 people. Host was very accommodating and even had a fire pit going for us by the lake. Very cute downtown and not far from Coeur d’Alene. Highly recommend.
Great little one room guesthouse with lake access. Clean and comfortable. Took the paddle boat to Sedlmayers for dinner, boated around the lake, floated off the dock and had a firepit under the stars. Great location. Not suitable for someone that can’t do stairs.
My wife's friend was visiting from out of town so this was a great place for them to relax and catch up - shame that the air quality was poor during this time and they didnt get to enjoy the lake as much as they could have. The room is nice but on the smaller side so great for a couple that really likes each other :) - or for a person that wants to do some fishing or lake activities. I would suggest highlighting the number of stairs to the lake which may be more challenging for older persons or persons with limitations. Overall it was very nice, clean and the hosts were very helpful and accommodating - we would stay there again. thanks, Jeff
We enjoyed our stay very much! They were so accommodating and welcoming! They left us blankets by the fire when we got back late after dinner and just really made our stay so nice. The place is the perfect tiny living house and was so cozy! We loved every part and every detail. Thank you so much!
