My family and I stayed in this cabin last week and we had a wonderful time. The lake was beautiful and the guys enjoyed fishing. We all enjoyed sitting out on the back deck and just relaxing. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.
Had a great stay here! Loved the location being a bit of the beaten path, and away from the crowds in Bar Harbor or Ellsworth. The proximity to the Schoodic Peninsula was a nice treat, and we really enjoyed exploring Winter Harbor and the Scoodic side of Acadia National Park!
We loved this cottage! The house was clean and comfortable, the lake was beautiful, and lots to do. We went hiking, fishing, kayaking, and played lots of board games. Dan is a great host, and easy to communicate with. We highly recommend this property!
Dan was a very responsive and proactive host. Thank you so much for the organized info on the house, area and attractions. The house was very clean, with a well supplied kitchen, extra linen, nice grill and great porch. Loved the bird feeders. Pond was lovely with great sunsets. Thank you again.
Wonderful spot to enjoy all the scenery and nature that lake living in Maine has to offer.
We had the most wonderful stay in Zephyrus Cottage. The cottage was clean, tastefully decorated and fully-equipped. We enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding and sitting on the dock taking in the beautiful sunsets and views of Schoodic Mountain. Day trips were spent hiking and dining in Bar Harbor/Acadia, hiking Schoodic Mountain and visiting the Tidal Falls Preserve where our girls were able to hold starfish and crabs and watch seals swimming closely. We had a very hard time leaving, and hope to book again soon!
Had an amazing time at the cabin! Would definitely go again!
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage!! The open area was great for dinner and conversation as well as hanging out and watching the many birds and squirrels. The cottage is located in a quiet area about 50 minutes from Acadia and an hour from Bangor (Utopia restaurant is totally worth the drive). Although it was too cold to swim during our trip, the pond was very beautiful and peaceful. Overall, a wonderful place to stay!!
The home is warm and inviting with all the amenities of home. The private dock offered incredible views. We are looking forward to our next visit!
Zephyrus was a wonderful place to stay. We were there 9/24-10/1. Weather was great. Being on Flanders Pond was soothing and healing. Hearing the Loon in the morning was magical. We visited all over Acadia, including Schoodic Peninsula, and loved every part of it. Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Southeast Harbor, Seal Harbor…and all the other harbors were lovely. Would love to go back to Zephyrus! Highly recommend it. And Dan Bunker was great to deal with! Thank you Dan.
The house was very clean and matched the description. The lake/pond was beautiful. You could hear the loons calling to each other every night. The view of Schoodic Mountain was awesome. We knew before we arrived that it was a 40/45 minute drive to Acadia park, so it was not a surprise, but I wish it had been a little closer. I would consider the location centrally located to visit other sites, as well, not just the park. There is a lot to do near the house. The reversing falls are only 10 minutes away and very cool. Dan, our host, was very quick to respond to my questions, although I did not need to contact him during our stay because everything was fine. Overall, our stay here was wonderful. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it to everyone.
Eight of us (4 adults and 4 children) enjoyed an excellent stay at the lakefront cottage. The house is well stocked and maintained. The children had a brilliant time playing and swimming in the lake. It was our first time in Maine, the local area is beautiful and we particularly enjoyed being in very close proximity to Acadia National Park. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property and will likely return in the future.
Thanks Dan! This home was just what the doctor ordered...away from the hustle bustle of Bar Harbor, nature all around, beautiful lake, loved it! Dan is super organized, everything was detailed about the home and he even supplied a nice visitors guide with suggestions for restaurants/hikes/etc. The home has everything you'll need, and has a well-equipped kitchen that we really loved. If we make it back to the area, will definitely stay here again. Cheers, The Kauffmans
My husband and two kids enjoyed our time at Zephyrus Cottage so much. It was our first visit to Maine and the house proved to be a great home base for our exploration of the area, from Acadia National Park to Schoodic to Bar Harbor. Sure, there was a bit of driving involved, but the semi-remote location of the house provided a great setting for relaxation and we enjoyed swimming, reading, and cooking at the house. The house itself was the perfect size for our family of four, but it certainly wouldn't feel crowded with the addition of a few more for larger groups. We were pleased with the amenities provided for doing laundry, as well as the provision of basic kitchen supplies provided by Dan and possibly other guests, and we added some unopened pantry staples to the mix. There is a small store a few miles away for basic supplies as you come into town, but we found ourselves passing through Ellsworth every couple of days and often stopped to buy additional groceries. Of note, be sure to stop at Marden's in Ellsworth for great deals on all things Maine! Prices are about 2/3 of those in the shops in Bar Harbor. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Maine and Zephyrus Cottage played a big part. Thanks for sharing your lovely home, Dan!
We enjoyed our family stay. The cottage is a short drive to Acadia National Park .. Schoodic Point. A must for sure! The Drive to Bar Harbor was about an hour. It is surely less tourists near Sullivan and it is beautiful. We saw a lot of wildlife near cottage.
Beautiful lake house. Off the beaten path, which was exactly what we were wanting. Perfect for us two couples. :)
We were impressed by the fact that the property description and pictures were very accurate, and not overstated. The house we so very comfortable, truly one of the highlights of our week in Maine. Beds were comfy. Kitchen had a great layout for eating and playing games plus it was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The lake view and deck were incredible. The birds, chipmunks and squirrels were fun to watch and listen to while relaxing and taking in the natural beauty all around. At first we couldn't understand why there was no TV in the living room, within a day we realized we did not need since the view was so awesome.
