Lake Champlain Waterfront: Amazing Sunsets, Private Beach, and Firepit

Enjoyed beautiful sunset view, grilling dinner, 2 firepits, kayaks for short exploring of neighboring homes along the lake, coffee on the front porch watching the horses across the street, walking along the quiet road to the Hog Island Market, friendly neighbors, visit to a fun antique shop and beautiful hiking spots nearby, and a short drive to Canada for a nice dinner out. Bonuses were pet-friendly stay (our 2 dogs had a great time) and clean, cozy lake cottage with more than enough space and everything we needed for a fun, peaceful and scenic late summer get away!

We had everything we needed at this delightful spot on the water! The farm across the street had gorgeous horses that were highlighted in the morning light. Loons greeted us on the water and the sunsets were AH MAZING!!!

Pet friendly and quaint home that provided a safe, comfortable stay. We really enjoyed watching the sunset from the patio. Josie was a great and communicative host!

Surprisingly spacious with good separation between rooms. Loved the access to Lake Champlain and the kayak availability. Still a work in progress, but updates are appreciated: flooring, vanity, etc. Having the bunk beds in another space allowed my husband’s aching back room to stretch out.

Charming lakeside property with gorgeous views and near other attractions including a nature sanctuary with hiking. Hoping to return. Josie was friendly and easy with instructions.

Though our booking was Aug. 18-20, the dates had somehow gotten confused/changed. Jodie however kindly compensated with little inconvenience. A very lovely stay. This cottage felt like home and each room was tastefully decorated. Bed and bedding were very comfortable. One thing we did not anticipate was the rocky beach. Water shoes are recommended to traverse to the beautiful waters of Lake Champlain where rocks are also prevalent. Jodie was an excellent host and we would choose this rental again.

The location is great. Access to the lake was a major plus, and the proximity to various nature trails was huge too. The cabin has everything you need. It’s cozy, had enough room for the three of us. We spent a great week swimming, kayaking, hiking and biking. Burlington and Montreal were comfortably close too.

Everything was great! Great location, great host and the cottage was as shown. We had a good time and would return again.

The heater didn’t work. When we emailed the agent no one responded. The bathroom is very tiny. The property is far from everything. Closest town was about 45 minutes. Everything closed early and is closed on weekends. The general store is up the street but just very basic items. We went to a nearby farm stand and purchased apple cider donuts and a few veggies. The house had all your cooking utensils for your cooking needs but supermarkets are far away. The views are beautiful and nights are very cold. Acorn trees on the property and the nuts fell on the house quite a bit. Most windows have no locking devices. There’s no door on the kids bunk bedroom.

Great location for get away with pups! We were able to hike around the preserve - saw deer, turkeys, wood chuck.

The house was perfect for 2 adults, with ample room for cooking, lounging and enjoying the view of Lake Champlain. The main bedroom was comfy, although a little tight around the edges of the bed. The kitchen was well equipped, and we grilled and cooked every meal utilizing all the accessories. The beach was private and quiet, allowing for all-day enjoyment of the lake. The kayaks were a fun amenity and provided an excellent way to explore the lake. The fire pits also provided a nice effect to enjoy the beautiful evenings and the lunar eclipse!

We so enjoyed our time right on the water very quiet. Plenty to do nearby if you want to explore. The cottage was very clean, well maintained and comfortable. Everything we needed for preparing meals, hanging outside and on the beach. Especially enjoyed our walks on the road along the lake front felt safe all vehicles were very courteous to foot traffic. Josie is an exceptional host super responsive!

The main thing is that I would consider staying here again and would recommend it. While we enjoyed the rural aspect of the house and its situation on the lake, you will have to drive to most dining locations and for groceries. Although the home was clean, it lacked some better amenities. All of the dishes and glasses were plastic, and the bed, while comfortable, would have been much more so with better sheets (cotton) and pillows. Because of the rain, the beach was not available to us until the last two nights of our stay and then we were finally able to enjoy the kayaks.

A very comfortable cottage with beautiful sunsets on Lake Champlain. Josie is totally accommodating and responsive. A great farmers market, ice cream place and market all within a 5 minute walk or drive. We had a wonderful 2 week stay.

This property is a great place to stay if you're looking to hike some trails and kayak on the lake. It is a 5 minute drive from some nicely maintained trails yet still away from any cities so it's nice and quiet. Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed for lour stay. I would definitely stay here again

Great little camp on the water. Well equipped ( you don’t need to bring anything but your clothing!) and clean. Nice patio off the living room that overlooks the water. It has outdoor dining, grill and fire pit. The camp is on a ledge and the stairs to the beach are steep. Not for anyone who has mobility issues and wants access to the water. Everyone else will have a great time. Kayaks, beach loungers, and a fire pit await on the beach.

Great little place to stay during a hot and muggy week - the a/c kept the place cool and I enjoyed the deck area outside.

This was exactly what we needed!! Great size, everything we needed was there!! Water, firepit quiet!! We’d definitely stay here again!! Store not far if need anything, great ice cream stand not to far and oh the sizes of the ice cream!! We highly recommend this stay

We had a wonderful time at this cabin right on the banks of Lake Champlain! It's so kind of the owners to have coffee and creamer available. We enjoyed kayaking a lot. The only problem we had was we arrived at night and couldn't find the address for 156. It's not listed on a mailbox but it is on the cabin itself.
